Am I destined to have a hard time finding romantic love? or any kind for that matter?

No, not at all. NO astro aspect fates people to not find love.

Your challenge is that you are likely to feel and act very insecure in romantic relationships...or leading up to them...until you learn to really work with this part of yourself. Your sexual and romantic feelings will tend to feel very over-the-top, like you're at their mercy, and you may "act out" because of the insecurity and intensity this creates.

Working with the energy rather than being at its mercy will help you have a much more satisfying love life.

What signs/houses are your Mars/Venus in?

Then that Venus-Mars contact will tend to make you feel most insecure about your self image/how you come across, and your ability to create a safe "home" and "family" (both literal and metaphorical) for yourself.

Also, there's probably been some wounding having to do with mother figure(s) and self-image. (I know some people only read Saturn as the dad, but in a couple of charts I've read I've seen a 4th house afflicted Mars as a sign of a father-daughter relationship that was a carnage-filled battleground. Don't know whether this applies to you with Venus in 4th.)

By nurturing and healing yourself vis-a-vis 1st and 4th house issues, you can build inner security that will help your love life.

The challenge of squares is to go very easy on yourself. Instead of letting the frustration hurt you, take a deep breath and peek around the other side to see what's really happening.

You have to figure out how to nurture your vulnerable crab Venus without dampening your fiery Mars.

can you give me some examples about healing/nurturing with 1st/4th house issues?

Both 1st/4th:
-try to create a life for yourself that is not limited by negative/hurtful/damaging influences from childhood or your family of origin

Healing 1st house issues:
-work with accepting yourself even if you're not perfect...enjoying the experience of life, rather than achieving, performing, or proving something
-work off excess anger/tension with deep exercise and peak physical fitness
-experiment with turning your focus outward and helping others, as through volunteer work (this is helpful for anyone healing any tricky aspects anywhere in the chart)

Healing 4th house issues:
-Break away or create distance from family members who cause you pain or hold you back
-create a home for yourself that feels VERY safe and beautiful
-understand that you are not limited to being just like your family of origin
-nurture yourself in simple ways: home-cooked, healthful meals; growing a garden; getting a good night sleep; taking a "me day" to spend alone in your safe, comfortable home, baking some bread and reading and listening to your fave music (that's for your Venus-Neptune opp)

Edited to add: Oh, and learn to say "NO" kindly, assertively, and politely to things you don't want to do or don't want in your life. (The way to learn=practice.)

Not necessarily. They may be your main focus though since these aspects are bound to garner more attention.

Er, yes, I have one of those clanging Venus/Mars numbers, in a T-Square. Different signs and houses.

I find chanelling that passionate energy into creative writing helps.

Also, subconsciously, I seem to be drawn to people who have Saturn placed somewhere along the T-Square, offering me calm and quality control.

Is there anyway to make it less painful

Yes, focus on building a happy relationship with yourself.

My Venus:

Opposite Saturn
Square Uranus
Square Jupiter

I have no interest in being in a romantic relationship. Venus in my chart represents money, self worth & platonic friendships.

Hmmm,

I'm not sure about hard aspects to the Moon, my Moon is quite well placed & I don't have issues with nurturing.

Perhaps looking towards nurturing yourself??

Sorry, I cant help in this regard
