lol. I have Venus Scorpio and Pluto conjunct Mercury- it's not Scorpio, but I'm obsessive-compulsive with subjects I like.

I think it might be thought vs. emotion.

I think Mercury Scorpio would be more compulsive in being preoccupied with something it likes, while Venus Scorpio's more raw and can be pretty darn obsessive (if not possessive too) in feeling.

I vote Venus in Scorpio, because the feelings are harder to overcome.

you see i don't think scorpio is obsessive i just think they dig deeper into things and put more thought into investigating things/emotions more then any other sign. which isn't really obsessive?

I do think it can be obsessive at times, because Pluto demands depth. If that's not quite fulfilled (and let's face it, in a way it never completely is with Scorpio), and if it's intrigued enough, it will become obsessive.
Obsessiveness can be a measure of interest and even love with Scorpio - if it's not switched on with a desire to probe, then there's no hook at all and no emotional investment, and so it's easy to lose interest and give up a cause or a person.
There's not much room for middle ground here, it's usually all-or-nothing because that's what brings Pluto the ultimate transformation it longs for.

MyVirgoMask said it exactly right about us Scorpios. I have Venus conjunct Pluto, and there is such an urgent and insistent need to merge that attaining it can become an obsession, at least for me.

i feel the same way, i have a lot of 8th house and pluto influence in my chart i just don't see how its an obsession, defining it how you will. its not like im obsessing over fashion or something its usually something that has a lot of depth, like an emotional issue. i just think saying its obsessive is judgemental? i dont know.

I don't think obsessive is bad. The word itself has bad associations. I think it can be in the hands of a person who isn't aware....Obsessiveness about something is just very focused passion, with something in the way, to keep it working to remove the obstacle.
It doesn't give up until it gets what it wants. Or outgrows something from the heartbreak of not getting it.

I have Sun,Mercury,Venus in Scorpio
I can be a bit obsessive.
It could also indicate high degree of concentration, focusing on things of interest. Those things are connected to my ability to learn things that I am interested. Without my obsessiveness,I doubt that I would be able to learn Astrology and other things that I am interested in.

I also want to play neurodiversity advocate......especially with my interest Neuropsychological Astrology.

As a person with Dyspraxia, I can be a bit obsessive. That's just how Dyspraxics tend to be. That can get us Dyspraxics misunderstood by people that aren't like us.
Dyspraxics are similar to people with Aspergers,Autism in some ways. http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-dyspraxia.htm http://dyspraxiaireland.com/

I don't believe that I am because of my chart. I believe that my chart reflects who I am. My nature and my astrological chart are in synchronicity with each other.

In society, I find neurotypicals (normal neurological processing people) to be very intolerant of neurodivergent people. They are very ignorant about people like us and how we differ in our processing things like thoughts and emotions. I had a bad experience yesterday that makes me feel a bit resentful towards neurotypical people even though I shouldn't be. Many neurotypicals have problems judging others without knowing them. That's a big problem in our society.

Sometimes I wonder if I should find a woman of my own kind to be with.

I also believe that not only Scorpio and Pluto have to do with intensity, highly focused, obsession. I believe that Pluto's fellow kuiper belt objects including especially the plutinos could be involved too. I have strong kuiper belt energy from other kuiper belt objects.

It depends on the character of the person - if they are more a thinker or a feeler - whichever way they're obsession lies. But I think MVM had it on the mark with this comment:
