Just an update! I went out with him, and it was AWESOME!! I love plorks now! LOL!

We had drinks, then walked around Times Square, and took pictures for almost ALL the tourists, haha, then walked downtown and had dinner. He is smart, funny, and so darn witty! His jokes are perfectly delivered, on point, and intelligently spoken. He was also a perfect gentleman, didn't make any attempts to be grabby or cop a feel with me, but he hugged me a lot, and held my hand and put it into his pocket while walking in the cold. It was soooo sweet.

He is so friggin smart, and I just think he is the cutest, dorky guy ever! But yes, I am still keeping mind that he is not just a dork, but a plork. So he has that player side to him, and those not so great Neptune aspects in his natal chart, so I need to be cautious.

But it was SOOO nice to actually go on a wonderful date, since I had been on nothing but horrible dates these past few months.
I don't know what he thinks/feels about me, and I don't know if I'm ever going to see him again, but I am just grateful to have had one nice date this past year, after all the duds! It was energetic, fun, and I felt very comfortable around him, and very familiar.
Thanks to all for the encouragement to go on this date!

So of course our synastry and composite are horrible though. LOL!! Just wanted to share this update to the previous thread dedicated to Plorks!

Yay! I'm glad you had a great date!

I hear ya on that one! I had a great date a couple of weeks ago (it was with a Sagittarius plork ) after ranting about all the bad ones I had previous to that. I think God must have heard me and sent me a good one to throw me for a loop. lol. Unfortunately, we're not going to be getting together again, but it really was nice to actually go on a date with a guy who was a gentleman and who I had a nice time with!

Good luck with your Cancer plork! I hope that you continue to have many good dates with him in the future.

Thanks so much everyone for all the positive, supportive wishes!

I'm in Plork heaven right now! LOL!!

I don't know if he'll ask me out again, but I'm happy with the memories!

Enchantress, what happened with your Plork? I think Sag's are the ultimate Plorks cause they are the ultimate freedom lovin' players. They are a LOT of fun though!

Snohawk, I told him about his "reputation" amongst the community, and he just laughed, and made jokes about it the whole night. He was cool about it, but I think from the way he tried to brush it off with jokes, that the "player" reputation is true!

Well... That's the thing. I'm not entirely sure what happened. The date we went on was a lot of fun: dinner and then pool at a place downtown. He was gentlemanly the entire time, opened doors, asked before he kissed me, told me he had such an "awesome time," etc. etc. Then he even texted me to tell me he got home safely and that we should go out again sometime. For three mornings after that he texted me to find out how I was doing, and then all of a sudden he just stopped. I used the three day rule and on the fourth day I called and ended up leaving a message. My rule is, if they don't call back within 24 hours (and it's already been 4 days) then they get deleted from my phone. I didn't hear anything back, so I deleted him. No sense in wasting my energy.

My best guess is one of two things: 1) he wasn't really decided about me to begin with or 2) he was dating other women and decided that he liked one of them better.

It is a shame, since it was a really good date and we did have some chemistry (though not near as intense as some of the people I've dated in the past: of course many of them were jerks, so I can't rely on that much). Also, I haven't had a lot of experience with Saggys myself, but I have a couple of friends who have, and the trend with them has been that Saggys get really close really fast and then strategically back off to maintain their "freedom." That would explain the technique of trying to be all lovey-dovey at first and then just drop it when he made his decision.

But honestly, I don't know... I'm not stressing over it though. I'd rather know early on than later. There will be others...

Enchantress, really only 24 hours...then delete? I really admire that you have this type of respect for yourself, and never wait around for any man! If it's a guy I like, I usually linger hoping for a phone call for at least a week or 2. I know it's pathetic, but I so rarely find guys that I have chemistry with and like, so when I do, I tend to hang on. What you said about Saggies sound close to my situation with one of my exes. It was bliss, spending 24/7 together, then disappearing act!

My Cancer Plork has disappeared too. There was a bit of misunderstanding between us, and I haven't heard from him ever since. It makes me really sad cause I liked hanging out with him. I guess he was "just not that into me!" LOL! I think he was/is probably dating a bunch of girls at once too, so dropping me was easy for him. I don't know if I'm ever going to get the hang of this dating thing.

Awwww With his persistence and all, it kind of sucks that he just dissapeared. :-\ Here's to the memories though, right? The important thing is you didn't go in with unreasonable expectations of the plork so atleast you aren't looking like a fool. ((hugs)) Doesn't mean I don't find that kind of behavior annoying though: why pursue a person so hotly just to drop them? I'll never understand these players. *le sigh*

The Plork might just be playing it cool, waiting a week or so to get in touch, trying to stay less vulnerable. Isn't he a Cancer? Am I remembering right? A Cancer might do that.

Ha, I had an actual relationship with a Cancer plork...yikes. You would think that being the girl he chooses in the end is nice but it's really not. There is no happily ever after, and your status is constantly up for review. He never cheated, but it was always that "Oh, it doesn't matter if I flirt...YOU are the one I want at the end of the day (until I meet someone I like better)" attitude. He was a Leo Venus, btw.

The way we broke up was really funny, he told me he was shutting off from the world to "find himself," and that was it.

Thanks everyone for your words of support! These Plorks are turning out to be a pretty complicated breed. LOL!!

I heard from him briefly yesterday, but I don't think this is going anywhere. Our timing always seems to be off.

LL14, Yes, I read that book and saw the movie. It seems this guy is "Just not that into me." I know it's time to move on. (sigh)

Wal, you know that exact situation happened to a friend of mine too. Her cancer plork just told her one day that he needs to be alone to find himself, and disappeared. A few months later, he came crawling back...she closed the door on him! She met another Cancer after him, (but not a plork) and now they are engaged and happy together. He bakes the most amazing cookies too, and sends them to the office for her.

Wal, my ex-husband the Sag plork used to say the same thing! Did you always feels like your Cancer Plork was "looking" for someone he liked better? I barely have any experiences with Cancers, but from what I hear they are social and like to flirt. My plork is Cancer with a gemini venus...he is a born flirt. He knows exactly what to say to girls to make them swoon. I had a txt meesage fight with him yesterday and totally humiliated myself, and sounded like a psycho biatch! Oh well, I guess it's a good thing that I won't hear from him again. LOL!

LL14, I'm craving those homemade cookies. I would love to have a man who bakes.

BTW, whatever happened to the image of Cancers being homebodies? All the ones I know are socialites!

plork? prejudice! :P

well with cancer just remember they're cardinal water so there's a constant need to initiate emotions. if you HAVE a cancer partner, all flirts he does is for you to get the 'wow girls dig that guy' kind of feeling and wise girls would know how to deal with it - yep give him complements but be firm that you know flirts and you have boundaries!

also when i finished reading your first post i thought to myself what she's seeing is just one of his countless sides. more will turn up if he'd like to get serious with you. consistency is not to arrive soon. at least not until he's sure you're able to give nods to all that is him, which is what he does for himself his entire life. you'll have fun in the process though.

good luck

Yeah, I was gonna say some cancers (especially those heavy in gemini) only show their social façade, until they trust enough to let you see their other side. Yeah, we pretend to be social but you notice we aren't entirely comfortable in that situation...unless we have a circle around us.....or alcohol. *hides*

That being said, if a man is constantly thinking the grass is greener and is always looking for something better...run. That's a good sign they don't take this type of thing as seriously as you do. Ay Caramba!

Now remember, I wait 24 hours after I've called him after it's already been 3-4 days in which we've gone without contact. My reasoning is that most people really hang onto their cell phones these days and check them obsessively. I'm sure he's gotten the message by that point, and if I haven't heard anything: delete. Saves a lot of hassle.

The Cancer I dated was like that and he had a Leo Venus too. What's funny about him is that he would try and flirt with say, a female bartender, right in front of me. Then he'd look at me intently to see how I'd react. Then when I blew it off (because quite frankly, my Leo Mars was not impressed), he'd become more interested in me. Strange.

I was always really happy that he didn't flirt with my friends in front of me though. THAT would have ****** me off. I got really peeved when this Virgo guy that my Gemini friend is dating started flirting with me hardcore right in front of her. I gave him the brushoff. The worst she did was call him a jerk. However, it's been her decision to date him and I'm not going to pretend to know what is best for her... In my mind though, he'll continue to treat her like crap until she stops accepting it. She tried to have a conversation with him several months ago moving them to "couple" status and he gave her some BS about how things now are working fine, and he wasn't ready for a serious relationship. She's still trying to get him to be with her. She says she's ok being friends with him, but it's obvious to me she isn't. It could always work out, but why would she want it to with someone who obviously doesn't care about her that much?

quote:

Yes, Cancers do have countless sides which can be both exciting and annoying at the same time and they aren't very consistent. You just have to go with it. Unfortunately, every Cancer guy I've known has been a player, but I know there are some non-player ones out there who are worth the time. It's a matter of distinguishing the difference.

Even the player/plork types play up the Cancerian sensitive nice guy shtick. That's why they're so good at it. I was absolutely astounded to find out that this one Cancer guy I knew was dating (and sleeping with) 5 different women at once. He was such an "everyman" and seemed like such a nice guy that it just didn't seem possible to me.
