"What's a New Moon?"

Read more about the Sun-Moon cycles.

Read more about how you experience PISCES energy in your life.

The search for a higher purpose is a tricky mission. In order to imagine something better, something more special, something more pure... you have to go a little on faith. You have to stretch your mind beyond the bounds of what is logical. And you have to suspend your disbelief just a bit, enough to see past the brick wall of what is, so you can envision what could be.

Yet, there is a delicate balance point between what is and what could be. Tilt too much in either direction and the opposite side begins to look meaningless or absurd. Maintain a balance between them, and the combination can harmonize the magical with the real and the sublime with the mundane.

In Pisces (the sign of the current New Moon), when we drift too far into the magical realm, we can lose touch with reality. This might feel enchanting and delightful for a while, but because we still live in a physical dimension we are bound to crash into reality if we're not paying attention. Like Icarus whose wings melted when he flew too close to the Sun and fell to his death in the sea, there is only so far we can go beyond the bounds of the physical world before we risk getting into trouble with it.

So how do you reach into the Piscean world without losing your bearings? How do you dive into the ocean of intuition, imagination and spiritual surrender without drowning in it? How do you aspire to a higher purpose in life without your wings melting? The New Moon chart offers hints and clues about resources that can help us do just that.

The Sun-Moon conjunction (that's what a New Moon is) has only one major aspect in the chart, which is a sextile aspect to Pluto in earthy Capricorn. This suggests that empowerment on a practical level can provide a sturdy container into which we may pour our longing for higher purpose. In other words, take care of your practical needs first – healthy food, sufficient sleep, pacing yourself and dealing with important matters (preferably before they become crises). Then you will have the inner and outer strength to sustain your quest for greater meaning.

Saturn is still the "handle" of the chart. It's off by itself on one side, while all the other planets are clustered rather tightly within 4 signs. Once again, this gives Saturn (planetary ruler of Capricorn) a starring role throughout the New Moon cycle (including conjoining the Full Moon on Mar.10—but more about that in the next update). Saturn's prominence places even more emphasis on the need to keep one foot planted firmly on realistic ground. When Saturn's happy, the rest of the chart is more likely to be happy too.

On the other hand, the ongoing Stellium in Aquarius ("What's a Stellium?") continues to upstage almost everything else in the solar system. Not only are there five, count 'em, FIVE planets currently in Aquarius, but two of them are the traditional and modern planetary rulers of Pisces: Jupiter and Neptune. So back we go to Aquarius again, as we have for the last two lunar cycles, to discover the source of energy that is driving us. But this time, it's combined with Pisces.

If Pisces is about surrendering to the spiritual Universe, then Aquarius is about uniting with the human collective. As Pisces is about intuitive imagination, Aquarius is about creative genius. Like any two signs that are next door neighbours, they have a lot in common but they take these similar energies in slightly but significantly different directions. Pisces has a mission to reach an intangible level of existence that is ultimately ethereal and unknowable: "The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao... " Aquarius has an agenda to break free of the bounds of conventional knowledge and experience, yet still keeping the umbilical cord to "this world" intact enough that humanity can benefit from what is discovered. Similar, yet different.
Side note about the Age of Aquarius: Mars and Jupiter conjoin roughly every 2 years, and they do so in Aquarius as often as every 11 years. Since each astrological Age lasts roughly 2000 years, with a transitional period of a few hundred years, such a frequent conjunction does not signal the beginning of the Age of Aquarius. The question of when this Age begins is a topic for a much more complex article which I would love to write if I can just find about 60 more hours in the day... :-)

Part of the stellium in Aquarius is a conjunction of Mercury, Mars and Jupiter. The song Age of Aquarius says: "When the Moon is in the 7th House, and Jupiter aligns with Mars, then peace will guide the planets and love will steer the stars." When Mars and Jupiter join forces, we have the potential for the strength and empowerment of Mars combined with the mercy and wisdom of Jupiter. Put Mercury into the mix and this powerful energy is channeled through our thoughts, words and perceptions.

That's when the energy is working well, but we don't always use energy to our highest potential. When Mars in Aquarius isn't operating at its best, it can become defensive, hostile, erratic or rebellious. Jupiter can amplify this and add a spin of blame, judgment or dogmatism – or worse, tap into the elitism of the group: "WE have the answer, which means you don't." Mercury then gives this a voice, sometimes speaking out too abruptly, insensitively or prematurely, or perhaps simply shaping our perceptions in these ways.

Then there's Chiron and Neptune, as they gradually approach conjunction. There is only one exact pass of the conjunction: Feb.17.2010. However, they station retrograde just minutes from each other in May of this year, and they station direct mere minutes from each other in November 2010. So there are virtually three passes of this transit, with a long, slow approach and separation for a few years before and after.

Chiron and Neptune are a complex pair. Neptune is ambiguous at the best of times, since our experience of it can be so intangible and indistinct. Chiron, the "wounded healer," is about walking a fine line between creaturehood and divinity, between limitations and potential, and between pain and transcendence. This conjunction happens very rarely; the last time was 1945, and the time before that was 1880. The next time will be 2094.

Chiron-Neptune can bring sublime healing at its best, or seemingly bottomless suffering at its worst. The thing with Chiron is that these experiences often go hand-in-hand. It is through our struggling that we gain a kind of healing or reconciliation that may not solve the problem the way that we'd hoped, but it gives us a gift of wisdom that often couldn't come to us any other way. However, Neptune can hold a trap in which suffering becomes its own end. Don't get stuck in a martyr mentality.

At its best, I think Chiron-Neptune is finding peace and acceptance, not simply despite our limitations and human imperfections, but perhaps even because of them. If acceptance and redemption come only through flawlessness, then they will always be unattainable and we will always feel we are doomed to failure and shame. Chiron-Neptune brings a dual message that we are less than perfect AND that we are enough in the eyes of the Universe. When you doubt this, reach out to someone who can help remind you of how wonderful you are, how precious you are, and the ways you are an irreplaceable part of the world.

As you scan the skies for a higher purpose during this lunar cycle, remember that we only see as far as our own horizon – but that horizon is not the end of all there is. A whole world lies beyond the territory that is familiar to us. The Aquarius initiative seeks to expand that territory to include the people, places and perspectives that have been marginalized or rejected. The Pisces mission is to recognize, cherish and revere All That Is, and in so doing, break through the barriers that keep us separate and alien from each other, from all of life and from ourselves. A personal reading can show you how to embrace this Aquarius-Pisces energy.

My lunar return was yesterday. New Moon in Pisces and dispositor Neptune are in 10th in my lunar return chart. I am going to use my lunar return to start building my reputation among the community here in Sacramento in preparation for my starting a nonprofit neurodiversity organization in the future. I started going back to church at an interfaith unity church called Spiritual Life Center. I am going to start volunteering at the church, and I already talked to the pastor last Sunday about my plans to start a nonprofit organization for neurodivergents and that I want to be volunteer, support the church as a stepping stone as well as make friends in the spiritual community. I have decided that I will volunteer as a greeter. I believe that it will help me with my shyness and lead me to be more outgoing, social, and friendly.

Realistically, I don't see myself starting a nonprofit neurodiversity association until I have been active in community volunteering, support for at least 6 years. I would be 44 at the time. I consider myself a late bloomer with so much things to do. I plan to live a long life. I have already made changes since last summer like cutting out sweets, junkfood. I work out with weights daily. Of course, I see a shaman healer for healing work. I am doing whatever I can to lower my stress levels because that's the key to me living longer. I realized that I need to be relax and calm or I will have a heart attack by the time I am 40. I can be living my life purpose until I am 100 years old. As long as I am taking my cod liver oil/fish oil, my mental faculties will remain sharp.

I am going to see author of the Indigo Children series, Lee Carroll here in Sacramento at Christ Unity Church next Sunday. He is going to do 5 hour lecture including a channeling. I made reservations yesterday. I am hoping to meet other neurodivegents there too and make friends with them. Anne Angelheart told me in a soul reading that I am meant to work with the Indigo,Crystal children. Therefore, I thought that attending the lecture would be a good thing and let me understand New Age point of view about neurodivergents. I am considering all views about neurodivergence. I can't be closed to any of them. I am already well familiar with the disordered view of neurodivergence, and I don't agree with it. I am family with the New Age view of neurodivergence, and I only agree with some of it. I agree mostly with the stance that DANDA,Thom Hartmann,Ronald D. Davis have about neurodivergence.

There is an Intuitive Healing Arts Festival here in Sacramento on March 15th,and I plan to be there and network and meet others who are into holistic, metaphysical things.

There is an opportunity for intuitive healing artists to network on February 27th and March 13th. I am going to attend the first one.

so yeah.....I have a good idea how New Moon in Pisces and Neptune in 10th will manifest

Mercury-Mars-Jupiter-North Node in 9th in my lunar return fits with my being more active in the interfaith unity church. There will be 2 workshops there on March 6th and 7th too,and I will be going to them.

Sun conjunct Moon in lunar return could point to the start of a relationship with a woman. My current solar return chart period has Sun conjunct Moon. I have Venus in 11th sextile Mercury-Mars-Jupiter in 9th and Ascendant in Lunar Return. I could meet that special lady during this lunar period. I already met a lady 2 Sundays ago at the church, and I was very attracted to her. She didn't come next Sunday. Maybe she will come back, and she and I will get to know each other.

I intend to make full use of New Moon in Pisces. I see my shamanic healer on a weekly basis too.

I really need to start reading Eckhart Tolle's NEW EARTH. I will start on that this weekend. the packed 9th house in my lunar return fits with that. Transiting Pluto semisquare my Mercury and sextile Moon indicate transforming my thoughts and feelings. That's what I want to do. I need to get rid of my fears, insecurities to live my life purpose. Last Sunday at church, I realized that my insecurites are stemming from the past which influence me to worry about the future in regards to my fear of failure and fear of people rejecting, ridiculing me. I realized that I focus on the past and future too much, and that's what leads to my insecurities which leads to my depression and anxiety. I realize that if I just stay in the present moment and just be in the now, I will be secure and confident and be positive in my outlook on life. Following Eckhart Tolle's teachings and law of attraction will help me realize my full potential. I can live up to the potential of my being born on the 29th and stop being overwhelmed by its challenges. Then I will help others live up to their potential too.

New Moon in Pisces is about starting on a compassionate path fueled by empathy, sensitivity.

Awwww........... Raymond.
That was so sweet and so sincere. I am not sure why but your words touched me.
You wrote them from such a pure place. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. The Universe will no doubt return those thoughts and actions to you with full acceptance and answers to your questions.
What a special soul you are. I can see where you were meant to work with Indigo and Crystal children. There is so much tenderness and compassion in your Spirit. That energy is very needed for that work.
I am so encourage by the journey that we are all making inward now. To find out who we really are.
Facing your fears is a tremendous step through the veil of Isis.
Why should you be riddled with depression and anxiety? That is not part of your birth right at all. "A New Earth" will be very encouraging for you. Why not read about the world that you have already begun to create.....

I join Wheelsofcheese in cheering on this momentous time of growth for you......
