when you feel attracted to someone, like those deep attractions, and whenever they pass by you get this feeling inside you that makes you want to look at them, is it because their personal planets are similar or compatible with yor own, or that have many aspects to your chart, or does it depend purely on chance?and this is when you don't know their birth date and birth chart etc. but you get a sense that if you talked to them or were with them, it'd be a pretty compatible relationship, whether it be friendship or sexual or love. Ordinarily especially opposites (opposite signs) naturally do two things they both repel and they attract so that from a Goodmanesque interpretation Leo and aQua girls might stay away from each other but they might feel an inexplicable attraction to their male counterpart oppositions. I made that up Linda specifically mentioned that Libra and Aries girls kinda keep their distance but as far as opposites go these things could happen that is attractions and repulsions.IP: Logged |

Birth chart wise, this kind of attraction may mean you have some synastry whammies...not necessarily harmonious aspects, but close connections between your chart and theirs.

There has to be a big non-astrological layer of attraction, too, for these aspects to translate into attraction. Most of the people in the world who you have the "best" synastry with, you will never meet. Among the people you do meet, their gender, sexuality, cultural background, ethnicity, age, appearance, style, and thousands of other factors will shape how you feel the synastry. Let's say you're a 27-year-old woman who is attracted to men. If you meet a straight 27-year-old man with a similar background and value system to yours and you two have a pile of intense "sexual attraction" and/or 'romantic compatibility" aspects in your chart, chances are you'll feel an erotic pull. But let's say you have those SAME aspects with an obese 84-year-old woman, with a toddler, or with your dad. Due to nature, culture, and social conventions, both of you would "feel" those sexy aspects in a whole different way. The fat old lady might challenge and inspire you emotionally, for example, or you might be extra helpful to her as her physical therapist. You might have a stimulating connection with the toddler or your dad, just not a sexual one in the way that you would with an appropriate partner. IP: Logged |

Lucia, you said it perfectly. It depends not only on astrology aspects but on all those factors you mentioned. I have Venus conj. Mars in Scorpio with my little brother, and with a few close male friends. I feel the attraction to the male friends but as far as my brother and I go, we're just very close, similar personalities, and on the same "level". We get each other. People really do need to look at the WHOLE picture. ------------------

I feel different types of attraction depending on the aspects or really, probably moreso, the minute I see them or interact with them. To me, meeting charts explain a lot more than synastry charts as to why I became attracted to a certain person. Also someone with strong connections to my Mercury may make me feel a strong mental connection, whereas people with strong connections to my Venus...well I usually just want to love them (and own them, thanks to the conjunction with Pluto in Scorpio) right off the bat. That's why I always fall for Cancers even though the rest of my chart is not Cancer-friendly.I definitely do not feel attraction to people with planets "compatible" to my own in the sense of sameness, like sun/sun conjunctions. In fact, because my natal Mars and Sun are conjunct and square my Saturn a sun/sun conjunction would put my Mars on their Sun as well and I'd probably end up sparring with them just as often as I do myself, and I don't want that lol. Many people cite certain aspects or certain planets or bodies when it comes to determining attraction, but it's one of those things where you have to go the opposite way, imho. Look in the chart after the initial attraction to see what's there, or try the meeting chart if you can. IP: Logged | |
