How does progressed synastry work? Do you compare person A's natal to person B's progressed chart, and vice-versa? Or do you compare both progressed charts to each other?(I'm thinking specifically of synastry, I know how to do a progressed composite chart.) IP: Logged |

In progressed synastry you compare each progressed chart to the other`s natal and progressed chart. The orb is 2°.At the outset of a relationship there are often following aspects (pr to pr, or pr to natal): Sun conjunction, trine, opposite Venus Venus conjunction, trine, opposite Venus Venus conjunction, trine, opposite Mars Sun conjunction,t rine, opposite DSC Venus conjunction, trine, opposite ASC Mars conjunction, trine, oppoiste DC Personally, I also have often found a Sun-Mars aspect to be present, IF there were Venus-aspects at the same time. Do you use it also to look at existing relationships, or just to see if/when a relationship will start?Do you look at house overlays, also? If you do, who feels the house overlays in a natal-to-progressed comparison? IP: Logged |

Of course you can look at progressed chart within a relationship, too. Maybe it will explain some developments within the relationship.IP: Logged |

Who feels the aspects in a progressed-to-natal synastry comparison? For example, in an existing relationship, what do natal-to-progessed comparisons tell you that a natal-to-natal or progressed-to-progressed comparison will not? I am guessing that: 1) natal-to-natal synastry would show the general, overall, big ways the two people affect each other. 2) progressed-to-progressed would show the ways that each person is affecting the other at the present moment, and you can read it the same way as natal to natal synastry BUT...with progressed-to-natal synastry, how would each person feel the aspects? For example, when I compare my progressed chart to my friend's natal chart, and we have the following aspects: -His NSun conjunct my PVenus, 0 degrees -His NSun conjunct my PAscendent, 2 degrees -His NMercury trine my PSaturn, 0 degrees -His NVenus conjunct my PSun, 1 degree -His NMars conjunct my PSun, 2 degrees -His NJupiter conjunct my PNode, 0 degrees (we have this conjunction in the natal-to-natal too) -His NUranus conjunct my PPluto, 0 degrees, opposite my Eros, 0 degrees, and sextile my PPluto, 1 degree -His NNeptune sextile my PMoon and Uranus (1 and 2 degrees) -His NPluto conjunct my PMoon, 0 degrees -His NEros conjunct my Venus, 0 degrees Would these aspects ONLY represent how I (the progressed person) feel his influence now, at this time in my life, and then to see how he would feel my influence, I would compare his progressed to my natal chart? OR, would he also feel the influence of the contacts between my progressed and his natal? IP: Logged |

Westran`s study in progressed synastry seems to imply that both people feel the aspect, but only for the time, as it is in 2° orb.

In a progressed-to-natal comparison, then, does each person feel the aspect differently? And, if so, how?For example, would the natal person feel the aspect on a deeper level, while it would seem more transient/"of the moment" to the progressed person? Or is there some other way it plays out? IP: Logged | |
