How do you find your rising STAR, and what does it mean?

For example, the rising STAR of the Iranian President is Spica. Is it just classed as the brightest star of the rising constellation?

You look at your ASC degree and go to a fixed star list and find one conj that degree (usually fixed stars are listed by zodiac order so it shouldn't be too hard).

O-kay...

I found this link, which shows you how to calculate your fixed star (at midheaven at time of your birth)
http://www.pathguy.com/whatstar.htm

I had to laugh when my dad's interpretation came up as "prudent" and my ex-bf's came up as "has a good work ethic"!!

love,

Xena

MVM,think all the Taurus is 'cos Taurus is a massive constellation LOL!

My star's Menkalinan, apparently in conj with Mars it portends "death in the event of official festivities or battles".

I think this is a bit of bunkum, really...

That's interesting, so I guess it has to do with the rising sign, or is the star of the rising. I wonder how to tie all this stuff into interpreting anything!

Not necessarily. Menkalinan is part of the constellation Auriga, and on the charts that seemed to be more towards Gemini (my Midheaven) than Virgo (my rising). I actually find it a bit confusing but the Midheaven thing seems to make sense more than the rising.
