When Saturn hits the late degrees of Virgo it will be conjunct first my Mercury and then my Pluto. I am interested in figuring out when this is going to happen and also interested in what this might mean to me. Once Saturn passes into Libra it will conjunct my sun and then my Venus/Uranus conjunction. I would like to understand how long these effects will last due to my planets being something of a "stellium" in that they are all within 10 degrees of each other.

I wonder if this will be a time when I will begin to grow into my responsibilities or a time when responsibilities will seem overwhelming? Or can it go either way?
It is also important to mention that Pluto is in Capricorn and will soon be conjunct my Ascendant and then conjunct my moon in years after that. I have had four aunts and uncles diagnosed with terminal cancer in the last couple years so I do see deaths ahead eventually.

(Mercury, Pluto and Sun are in my 8th and Venus/Uranus is in the 9th)
The stellium forms a grand trine to my Aqua Mars in the first, and Gemini Saturn in the fifth. My moon is trine my Merc and square the Venus/Uranus. My true node is almost exact conjunct Mars in Aqua.

Wow sounds like it will be a busy time! I think it will be both overwhelming and you will need to take time to manage and organise yourself. Pluto in Capricorn will bring pyschological strain but if you can master time-management and dsipline yourself you will blossom from this. Saturn is exhalted in Libra.... and Saturn also rules Capricorn so there is affinity here. Pluto (death and regeneration) in Capricorn (family) could well bring deaths which may mean you taking on more responsibility.
You are not alone. I will experience Saturn return, then Saturn conjunct ascendant, then cnjunct sun/pluto.... lovely...

Thank you, Quinnie. I did not yet understand transits during my Saturn return and I felt compelled to get married and have a child. The marriage did not work out and also ended during my Saturn return, and I went through a painful divorce and lingering visitation battle (that finally seems to be over) with the violent ex. The gift was my child and I indeed have more responsibility in that way, but it is worth it. She is worth anything.
A friend of mine just went through a Saturn return and seems to have done a lot of soul searching but hasn't gotten married or had children or anything like that (H.S.C.). So, it must affect everyone differently. But he also is astrologically knowledgeable so he might have chosen differently if he was not? He did have a serious relationship during the height of the transit with someone he thought he might marry at that time.
Have you found anything on transiting Saturn conjunct Sun and Pluto? I haven't researched (googled hehe) that yet.

I just realized that it was probably because I have Saturn in the fifth house so it was returning to my house of children and romance etc which might have been why I had the urge and feeling that it was right to "create" a family even though it was not the best circumstances for it.
And yep, I just checked, HSC's Saturn is in the 8th, thus the soul-searching but no children.

Looking at my chart and Saturn, I figured out that the last time Saturn was in this position was about when I was around 8-12 years old and during that time my family moved, my mother had a miscarriage and my brother and sister were conceived and born. Since before that I was an only child, I guess it probably brought about a maturity of thinking and there was a lot of adjustment in my life, of course. I guess I have a lot to think about and maybe I'll ask my mother what she remembers about that time in my life.

It could also be a time of significant rewards,
when good habits finally become crystalized,
and what took effort in the past comes easily.

Well, that is certainly the best way to look at it. I like that interpretation.
I should be getting my degree during that time, so I had considered that and also considered that making it difficult to get the degree for some reason or another. It makes more sense that I would advance due to hard work. I guess I just worry about that Pluto in Cap and how it effects all of that.

I'm with you on the heavy transits. My Moon is at the end of Virgo, and my Pluto not far beyond that in Libra. Pluto's now creeping up to my Sun while square my Moon and Pluto.

Saturn's transitting my 4th (in Whole house system), and I am moving this month to a more expensive place where I'll have one of my Libran friends as a landlord. She just bought the condo. I do kind of wonder whether this will be a long term situation, or whether I'll be compelled to move again before Saturn gets out of my 4th and away from my Moon.

I've also been dealing with old hurts recently. I've been forced to mentally address attitudes of my parents, which I've rebelled against with at least reasonable cause. I saw a number of failures, and I managed not to reproduce any of them. However, my self-expression may have been stifled in the process, so now I'm left to recreate my Sun's expression. I suppose it makes sense that Pluto is affecting my Sun and Moon simultaneously.

It does bother me that I get a competitive vibe from my dad, and I don't know what to do about that. It seems that I have to take his wrongs and my reactive wrongs, and convert them into a right. It's almost as if I have to work out his karma. It's unsettling. I don't mean to burden anyone with this information, or hijack this thread. I'm just finding it helpful to write out.

I appreciate you writing it out. It helps me think and helps me not feel so alone. Glad it helps you too.

mystic, my saturn is in 7th and i also got "married" with my saturn return, though the ceremony did not take place until it went through my 9th! i also feel, like you, that my daughter is worth anything i had to go through to bring her here...when saturn hit my 10th i got mucho responsible, and became the authority figure in my house when her dad decided to leave!

Katatonic, thank you for your input. That makes sense and makes me wonder when Saturn was in my 10th. This is all very helpful. It also gives me more faith in destiny. And "hi" btw... it is nice to meet another mother of a daughter who understands. You'll probably have to remind me 10 times (air sign) but it's still nice.

Saturn made a conjunction of my Sun, Merc and Venus a few years back.
I have LOTS in my 7th house and it was a time of much change. My health was actually better than when it passed through my 6th.
I got in shape, got divorced and changed careers.
I did go through some depression but it was not severe. I would say overall my energy level was low.

Now.. trSaturn in right on top of my natal Pluto and coming off my natal Uranus.
My ex.. who pays child support is in real trouble financially.
My sex drive is at an all time low and the men I get involved with all have some sort of problem sexually. Its almost like...
"you've got to be kidding" you too.
I get obsessed over everything and have been kind of mean.
It won't be long and it will pass..As I look back.. I have certainly found myself, grown up for real and am happier about the control I have over what happens in my life.
You can only prepare so much.. the rest you have to take as it comes.. whether that be on the chin or not.

edit to add: natal uranus and pluto 8th house

Mel,

I've been digging around here in vain for this thread I'd posted ~3 years ago with tons of links & info on Saturn transits and aspects to individual planets (I think it was called Saturn Return Support Group) - don't know where it disappeared to! Maybe I can just find the links themselves..

In the meantime, hang in there, honey.. whatever Saturn may bring, I know you will handle it just fine, being the tower of strength that you are. If you can handle Plutonian stuff, Saturn's not going to be as bad, I have a feeling.

be back soon, hopefully with links in tow.. *takes up a shovel again*

Topshelf, a lot of what you said is very interesting and makes me wonder if I have been feeling the effects already! This is all happening in my 8th house so I am trying to wrap my mind around how this will play out psychologically. I have some NN stuff going on too... there is so much to integrate. I really love hearing everyone's experiences. It is good to know that I will make it through and come out stronger. Then I don't get as nervous. And of course there is only so much you can do to prepare... it is obviously designed to work for people who have no idea they need to prepare... but I guess if you know you are going to be swimming, you can keep your eyes open and prepare to hit the water.
