Hi Knowflakes,

I just realized that I have never heard an astrologer talk about how menopause can been seen in a chart. I actually find that quite extraordinary, as it can be such a huge change in a woman's life.

What transits could show it...?

Peri-menopause - a journey of who you really are???

quote:
Peri-menopause is powerful and underestimated, especially since it creeps us on us undetected. It’s as if our internal “B.S.-detectors” are amped up, and we can smell a rat or hear a lie a mile away. At this first entrance into the menopausal journey it’s time to consciously make new plans, craft new intentions, de-clutter our inner psyches and outer homes, and prepare for a new life. The Uranus Opposition is the first call towards what the Jungian psychologists call individuation; towards becoming who you truly are. Trying to maintain the status-quo at this time is the worst thing one can do. Let this be your motto: “Let’s do something different.”

Transiting Saturn making aspects to the moon can be a menopausal time for women, especially Saturn conjuncting the moon.

for me it was during my uranus opposition, which was accompanied by saturn and neptune in the 12th (byebye old me!) AND pluto square sun at the same time...i am talking perimenopause, and the worst "symptom" i had was years of ovulation cysts, which i discovered were somehow connected to excess fats in my diet (though my doctor said this did not make "medical sense") and therefore avoidable! otherwise physically i was in great shape, great energy - but those 12th house transits and pluto did a number on my life as a whole.

koiflower, i can relate!! i ROARED through those years... compared to the run-up period, menopause was a non-event. however i never had the sweats, fatigue, or other complaints i've heard since i first heard about menopause...and as my mom had her pause at 37!!!!i was elated to be on the early side of average.

saturn did transit my moon at that time but not at what i would call a significant juncture...

afflictedvenus, menopause is not a time for conception of children. Quite the opposite as a matter of fact.

hmm..I have to be pregnant in 7 years then..
Uranus will oppose my stellium in 2016 and saturn will conjunct my moon nearly at the same time..If it's gonna be at that year,it's early..41-42 approximately..well,it's possible bec.women in my family experience menopause earlier..

you commented that saturn aspects to the moon especially the conjunction were indicators of menopause
the last time saturn was on my moon i was in my early twenties and despite the fact i've had a lot of children...i had a four year gap during most of that time saturn was in my moon sign
i am aware that menopause is not a time for conception...
i was merely pointing out that i had not had any kids then...an observation to your comment

afflictedvenus, okay. I get what you're saying. You're saying that when Saturn was conjuncting your moon, you didn't have children then, even though later when that transit was over, you had children, right? Regardless of it being a menopausal time or not, Saturn-moon conjunction is not usually a time when women tend to conceive or have children.

The next time Saturn will be conjunct your moon in your early 50s, that's probably when you will experience menopause.
