Topic: Teaching or counselling?

Hi,I have two job interviews today and tomorrow. Both are teaching positions. The first one is a strictly teaching job where I will most likely be working with students who are academically poor and possibly "difficult". The second is a teaching assistant position, also focusing on helping weaker students. However this may lead up to a career in school counseling further down the road. Which path is more align with my chart? My passion is in working with youth and helping, guiding and nurturing them into their adulthood. Thanks for your help.  IP: Logged |

I think whatever you do now, you'll end up in counselling anyway. Just follow your heart and will.IP: Logged |

I totally agree with PA. It's really your call here, and both would be helpful.
And I think it depends on what you feel ready for. The first job seems more challenging, so the question is, are you ready? Maybe look at transits too. IP: Logged |

I agree with PA... you have a great passion and a natural calling for counseling. I greatly admire anyone whom dedicates time or their life to helping kids make something of themselves as l see sad, insecure kids all the time whom just need a boost to really shine.Bless you YinYang for being a lighthouse to them  IP: Logged |

Counseling involves communications and be able to relate with others, and so I would look at how Mercury and Venus are aspected.

Thanks for your input, guys/gals. I went for the interviews and I think I have a 50-50 chance of getting the 1st teaching position. I really hope I can get it!edit: On the other hand, I just found out that they're now recruiting School Counsellors. I think I'll try to apply for that one too, even though I do not have the relevant experience. IP: Logged |

yinyang I'd say teaching because you have Mars in the 10th house which is quite ambitious and teaching gives a more directive and authoritarian role indicated by Mars in 10th but then as you say adding to that the counselling skills as a school counsellor seems perfect.IP: Logged | |
