Which aspects would be considered stronger in a synastry chart?Saturn conjunct Ascendant - 3 degree orb or Mars trine Ascendant - Exact Sun conjunct Valentine - 3 degree orb or Sun trine Valentine - Exact
I know in the first case I am asking about two different planets but I suppose I am wondering about the strength of the orbs in comparison. Could an exact trine have the same impact as a looser conjunction or does the strength of Saturn trump Mars? Or perhaps it would matter in the end if one or both of the above was a ruling planet or had a fair amount of power in an individual's chart. IP: Logged |

For me it would matter if the aspects were applying or separating. However, I'm also going to say that I think that the conjunction is generally stronger than the trine, as the latter is a "lazier" aspect.IP: Logged |

I also look at applying and separating aspects as being different in their effect as well. I imagine that the conjunction would definitely have a more forceful energy but I do think that harmonious energy can definitely have a powerful impact if the synastry chart shows a lot of challenging aspects. It's a lot easier to learn if you get nice little breaks, no? But I guess you're both right - the conjunction would take precedence even at a 3 degree orb. IP: Logged |
