I was talking to a friend the other day and she asked me whether you are more inclined to be like your Moon sign with increasing age. The theory sounds vaguely familiar, have you heard of this?I clearly remember hearing though that women express their Moon or are inclined more to be like it than their Sun. IP: Logged |

Hmmm. Maybe. I've also heard the theory that we become more like our 4th house cusp signs by the time we die (male or female)...or it's what we work toward in some way.Maybe I am more like my Aries moon, but no...I think about it, and I actually shut my mouth a lot more now, and hold my tongue. There's more a sense of control. Isn't the moon also a somewhat reactionary point. I wonder if that part is simply more integrated, yet not necessarily expressed in outward manner. ....Though when it all comes out it's a lot more abrupt (12th house mooner). IP: Logged |

Ive always read that we tend to act more like our Moon signs when we are younger and eventually grow into our Sun signs. I have no sources for this other than Lindaland posts, though. The 4th house thing doesn't really make much sense since the 4th house represents origins. The MC is what we work towards. IP: Logged |

Moon - how we are growing upAscendant - represents who we are now. Bridges how we move from our moon sign to sun sign. Sun = Future or the characteristics/traits we are working to build within ourselves. Myself - Sensitive cancer moon - timid fearful, protective, family loving. Emotions can be quite strong and unbridled. I had to learn emotional control and not to act out on hurt feelings. (could indicate a Highly Sensitive person who is focused on others and cares alot about others feelings. Gemini Rising - taking in information, being curious. Reads a lot. Aries Sun - learning to be assertive and to have a good relationship with the self - one reason why an Aries can seem so self centered and self absorbed is they MAY be focused on themselves a bit much. Learns to take care of the self.Anyhow I find it's all about the relationship to the self and how to nurture that relationship to the self. Note I put down CAN and MAY and this doesn't "stereo type" the Aries person, so not all Aries are like this. This is just a generalization and is not pointed to anybody specifically. Here is another example - a shy, retiring sensitive girl loved to sit in corners and hide from the spotlight(Cancer moon) - withdrawing in shell and hesitant to open up about herself. One day she decided to become a stand up comic (Gemini Rising using words and wit on stage and joking around). To others she seemed to be courageous, brave and daring (Aries Sun) because others (her friends) are too afraid of public speaking. This helped the Aries side open up and to be herself.
So another example of past, present and future........ Maybe try this little formula on yourselves Moon = past (describe your childhood or something here - what ever you indentify with your moon sign) Ascendant = Present - describe your qualities here Sun sign = Future (Describe qualities ) Or you can try the short story description to see how it fits with your life and your story. I hope this makes sense..... ID IP: Logged |

With increasing Age Sun finds the identity and becomes dominant. As a basic rule they say 0 to 33 Moon dominates 33 to 66 Sun dominates 66+ ASC/Sun dominates (Higher Self) The above theory does not fit well for Cancer, Libra or Taurus mooners.. because of naturally powerful Moon's affinity into these signs. Cancer mooners tend to carry forward lunar dominance throughout life. IP: Logged |

I strongly relate to my Moon in Pisces, and I think that I relate to it more than my Sun in Scorpio actually it's probably I have more Neptune aspects than Pluto aspects. My t-square of Moon in Pisces square the opposition of Jupiter-Neptune in Sagittarius in 3rd and Saturn in Gemini in 9th indicate a major theme with Neptune being big part of it...especially with it squaring the Moon that is in the sign that Neptune rules. My Saturn contraparallels Mercury-Venus-Neptune.....so Neptune in a 4 planetary configuration in the declinations. I also believe that with my Sun trine Moon with 2'10 orb, that I can easily identify, express my emotional nature of being a Pisces. It could even be similar to my mom who has Sun in 12th trine Neptune in 5th which indicates Neptunian children and Neptunian father in that I can express the Neptune traits of my Pisces Moon like she can express her Neptune traits. Both my father and maternal grandfather had Moon in Pisces which fits with her Sun in 12th trine Neptune. My father also had stationary Neptune too.
My Mom has a Gemini Sun,and a Scorpio Moon. I think she acts more Scorpio more than I do. Man...she's so obviously Scorpion. When I was reading about the Scorpio mother in a book on Scorpio, I thought that I was reading about my mother. On a hunch, I looked in the moonsign table in the back of the book to see if she has Moon in Scorpio. Sure enough, she did. That's how obvious her Moon in Scorpio traits show. Her Saturn is in Scorpio too. Those Scorpio planets are in her 5th house. My Scorpio Sun,Mercury, and Venus are in her 5th house. My Mercury-Venus conjunct her Moon. She has Ascendant,Mercury,Venus,Jupiter, and Uranus in Cancer. The Cancerian traits are very much her too. She was a like a little mother, taking care of her younger siblings..even at 7 years old. She is very moody. She's an awesome cook. She should have opened up her own restaurant. She has a tendency to get in her shell too. Her Pluto has many aspects too including Sun sextile AND parallel Pluto which also aspects her Mercury,Venus,Jupiter,Uranus, and Ascendant in declinations. she has an explosive temper, and she kicked my butt a lot too. I grew up loving her and fearing/hating her. She had power issues. She is a very complexed person. She reminds me of the mythical Lilith too. the female influence dominated my life like my Sun-BML cazimi(in the heart of the Sun) shows. Raymond

I have always, always felt like I fit my Moon sign Sagittarius much more than my Sun sign Capricorn. I am only now starting to feel like I can identify with some of my sun qualities..though I still act, talk, and feel more Sagittarian.------------------ Capricorn sun / Scorpio rising / Sagittarius moon IP: Logged |

Thanks for the responses people! I guess there is some pointing to the Moon in youth. For myself, to use as an example, I've always felt Sun, Moon and ASC really strongly (for me Aqu, Lib, Aries respectively). As an adult, especially since my first lunar return, I've felt quite lunar. Maybe the Moon is more prominent but maybe I'm confusing it with my ability to maybe balance with my t-square better as an adult (Sun/Merc-Ura (apex)-Saturn). Anyway for me as a test to what has been said: * As a child, I was a strong combination of all three but probably felt more Aqu than anytime in my life. * As a young teenager, I was a combination of Saturn, Uranus and Mars (I did have t-Saturn on my Sun) * Older teenager - Mars and a bit of Uranus * Young adult - Mars and Venus * Now - Saturn and Venus (note that my prog Moon is in Cap/10th and currently opposing n-Saturn), I feel my Moon very strongly at the moment. EDIT - when I refer to the planets above, I'm really referring to Aqu, Libra, Aries and Cap IP: Logged |

shrugsI just thought females identify with the moon any way because moon is the archetypal female like sun is the archetypal male as male, I can strongly relate to my lunar nature because my sun trines moon, and my moon is highly aspected...especially with it being the apex of a t-square, I feel my moon a lot because it's under so much stress I guess it really depends on the person and aspects

Yeah, I do feel alot like my 8th house virgo moon. Churning moods beneath the surface, need for order, the need to analyze, the emotionless mask. I end up acting like it around people I'm close to, not in the naggy-nitpicky way, but it shows up. IP: Logged |
