I have a tendency towards social anxiety myself. I have history of being very shy....especially when it comes to talking to people...I'd blush, shake and/or kinda stuttersocial anxiety,shyness tends to be based on fear I'd look at hard Saturn aspects Saturn is the handle of my bucket..the only planet in the Southern Hemisphere My Saturn is retrograde in Gemini in 9th

Agreed with Raymond. Also make sure that you look to transits and progressions, particularly hard aspects from Saturn to Moon, Sun or Venus. IP: Logged |

What about sun in the 12th? I have that and I tend toward social anxiety. My sun is Sag, though, so I can kind of push through it...meh~ IP: Logged |

I'm a Sag Sun with Asc, Mars and Jupiter also in Sag and you'd think I would be reaaaally outgoing, but I''m not. Painfully shy as a child and young adult, but as I've gotten older, It's better, but still prefer time to myself.Being empathic hasn't helped at all, and was the cause all during my youth until I discovered this fact about myself in my late twenties. My Mercury in Scorpio is in my 12th, so that never has helped with communication, but did put me in a position of noticing a lot of undercurrents and picking up on the unspoken. Naturally psychic. Glaucus, you were kind to take a look at my chart the other day, thanks! maybe i can ask you another thing? the biggest problem of my life is my agoraphobic tendency... it's hard for me to step out the front door. the more pressure i have to leave the house the more i grow senseless fear and fail to go out. it's sometimes very torturous and it affects my daily activities greatly... like this morning, i woke up and my lover said, "hey you can go fix your bike and we can go cycling!" and now i can't go fix my bike... when you looked at my chart, did you notice anything that signified this sort of tendency? i have been struggling to cure myself of this for 20 years. i used to be THE tomboy of the hood and wasn't anything like how i am now. maybe i can use the astrological info to work around the problem to finally overcome it. this is just my amateurish guess but when i look at my chart the Kite formation with 1st house Mercury, 5th house Chiron and 9th house Saturn pointing to the 7th house Jupiter (chart ruler) jumps into my eyes. i don't know how to interpret it, but i always thought it probably has to do with my mental development of sort... but it may have nothing to do with the "problems" i got. my Saturn is pretty well-positioned except that it's retrograde. anyway, if you could take a quick look at it i'll be super grateful... Agreed! It's fantastic isn't it xI don't let people get close. My behaviour could be viewed as social phobic, but it's not. I can be around groups of people, but I don't like it therefore I choose & prefer not to be. I'm not shy or timid at all, quite bold & assertive really. I have no problems with public speaking or standing up for myself or others, I just get irritated by pithy small-talk & prefer my own company. I get fed up with peoples self-inflicted dramas - (unless it's a professional issue - where young people/teens need assistance). I think I just need alot of space from people. iv been working on my confidence for months now, it used to be very good when i was younger, but for about 5 years it vanished due to some personal reasons, and i starting to have some social anxieties - negatively conscious to the point where i'd be too un confident to go outside because i was scared i'd be judged by others.
saturn is afflicted in my chart -
square venus/moon oppose jupiter. venus oppose moon, square neptune/saturn/uranus, jupiter. same aspects as the venus apply to my moon. IP: Logged |

I think saturn and chroiron make the most sense to me. I've got a cappy moon in 8th square saturn and semi-square uranus. Saturn is also in a tight semei-sqaure to my mercury in scorpio. Chiron is in 1st conj asc and oppose my mecury scorpio. I'm kind of the strong silent type and have a hard time letting others in. But I wish so bad that I could be more outgoing, why do I have the overwhelming need to keep everyone at arms length. I also need long periods alone in isolation, I seem to require this, especially if I'm forced to be around a large group regularly, like in college. I'm very psycic and it's as if people and their energy exhaust me, I have to go recoup. I'm also very self protective, I've heard this can be from a sun pluto conj? It's as if I'm so intensly aware(seld concious) of myself that I can't step out of myself to really see objectively who that person really is. And it makes me paranoid because I automaticaaly think that others are going to be as aware of me as I am of myself. My book on aspects by sue thompson? describes this very well on her section of sun pluto hard aspects.IP: Logged |

I tend to be quiet and shy with groups of people and aquaintances but if I know you then I talk quite a bit. Agreed that saturn can cause this. I have Sag sun conj saturn conj Mercury. Also Mars is in pieces in the 12th house. Small talk to me is a waste of time and energy. If I'm going to talk to someone it has to have some kind of substance. I'm pretty reserved/quiet/private/closed off in most settings except around close friends...especially when we've gone out together and enjoyed nightlife. I guess I can be around groups of people much more easily now than when I was younger,I still need some alone time though. Being in a new place, its been really evident: At my old work, I only really mixed with 4 people and at school its been even less. I've been going through this saturn sqaure venus transit since mid September when I lost my job and lost touch with the few people I was friends with in this place. Saturn seems to be teaching me that even though I am a hermit by nature, I'm pretty unhappy without a social network too.*headdesk* Natally, I have a cancer sun and mercury, virgo moon/8th, Cap Asc., with Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus in the 12th. Hmmmm not sure about the retrograde planets.The most outgoing person I know has Mercury retrograde, she can speak for England!
She is extraordinary sociable, speaks 4 different languages & is a "people-person" Another person I know with 4 retrograte planets is also very sociable, she enjoys being around people & has a need to communicate, she never off her blasted phone lol. IP: Logged |
