What aspects would we look for in the natal of someone who can be extremely unreliable and flaky?
I'm thinking perhaps uranus afflictions?

(SOMEONE will say Gemini Venus... I know it...)

I've always found Venus square Mars to be a bit flaky. There's always an inner conflict between wants and needs, and I've noticed that a lot of people with this aspect (*raises hand in guilt*) go back and forth between pleasing both planets instead of finding an inner balance.

I think gemini moon says it all too. No i dont have uranus moon aspects but i do have neptune opposing moon and they both square my Ascendant. Alot of virgo rising people i know with neptune on the IC can be that way.

All the messed up people i know have virgo rising.

Gemini moon (myself) ruled by mixed emotions. Dont know if im coming or going sometimes.. Astrology aside im very unreliable because im ruled by my emotions i can change instantly and i am doing things if my mood is up for it.. I hate that about myself.

My boyfriend a taurus with aqua moon another air sign is probably the same and i cant stand hes like that too.

maybe its the air moons

Uranus can be, or seem, unreliable.

I associate flakiness more
with hard Neptune aspects --
that is, if the person has not
spiritualized the aspected planet.

In some types,
superficiality
(or flakiness)
may be indicated by
an emphasis on Gemini,
and/or the fire signs,
and/or on the lower 6
signs and houses.

I am bit unreliable and flakey, Sun opps. Moon. I try hard to stay on task, also to keep my promises and sometimes I do.

flak⋅y
/ˈfleɪki/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [fley-kee] Show IPA
–adjective, flak⋅i⋅er, flak⋅i⋅est.
1. of or like flakes.
2. lying or cleaving off in flakes or layers.
3. Slang. eccentric; wacky; dizzy: a flaky math professor.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Flaky?jss=1

It seems that flaky is a slang word for eccentric, wacky, dizzy.

a word for strange.

I once saw that word mentioned as a personality trait under Pisces in book called TAROT MADE EASY. It was my first New Age book that I got in early 1998.

but astronomically, centaurs (like Chiron) and kuiper belt objects (like Pluto) have orbits that are highly eccentric compared to the planets including Uranus

I would say that centaurs and kuiper belt objects can be an indicator for flakiness if you referring to eccentric, strange, whacky.

I would say more the hard aspects

keep in mind that eccentricity can be looked down upon by society any way.......if you exhibit any type of behavior that seems strange.

I wouldn't go around talking about Astrology and other metaphysical subjects to people that are not into that stuff, that would get me seen as being flaky.

btw....I fit the astrological profile of flakiness

I have very strong Neptune influence including hard Neptune aspects that include Moon in Pisces square Neptune

I have a mutable cadent t-square of Moon in Pisces in 6th square the opposition of retrograde Saturn in Gemini in 9th and Jupiter-Neptune in Sagittarius in 3rd.

I have an unaspected Uranus which is also my Oriental planet

I have very strong transneptunian energy that include hard aspects to personal planets
My Sun oppose Sedna might seem to express myself in a highly flaky matter more so than Sun oppose Neptune because Sedna is way beyond Neptune and all the other objects in the solar system. So Sedna is "way out there" With Sun being associated with the father, Sun oppose Sedna can reflect what my father was like. According to my mother, my father was a very flaky person. I never knew the man.....so that tells you right there that he was flaky. He was also a neurodivergent who was diagnosed as having schizophrenia. He was a Black Creole man that believed in Hoodoo, being born in New Orleans raised by a grandmother in Lake Charles. My mom told me that he gathered up his hair after every haircut so it wouldn't be used against him for Hoodoo purposes. He had Moon in Pisces disposited by stationary Neptune in Virgo.

when it comes to strange, yeah....I am definitely flaky......people in school could see it in me too, but I didn't. It was because it was because it was natural for me. I probably had flakier behavior when I was in special education classes..especially when I was with the mentally retarded in 1st grade. My relatives were very concerned about me being there when I was reflecting the behaviors of my special education classmates. I was an extremely impressionable child. There are a lot of flaky children in special education classes regardless of their intelligence levels. I still remember a former fellow special education student in 2nd grade who acted real goofy one time when we were waiting to get back to class after lunch, and he took down his pants and peed in front of us! This was a very intelligent and articulate kid too.

This person has Moon in Pisces. Mn opp Uranus in natal. A transit today - right now Tr Mn opp natal Neptune.
He's often unreliable and yes eccentric..but hey I'm Aqua, I can handle eccentric.
What I can't understand is this unreliability and swift changing moods...one minute very keen to do something and then the next, POOF, changed his mind.

Raymond, I think they're talking about flakey as in unreliable. Like people who say they will be somewhere at a certain time and then change their minds and never show up.

I know 2 Capricorns who are the flakiest people in the world, even though they are very Earth heavy. I think it might have something to do with Neptune conjunct their Sun.

I've been the biggest flake the past few years because transiting Neptune has been going over my Sun and now it's making its way over my Mercury (chart ruler).

gabriela,

she said extremely unreliable and flaky

she used the word, "and" between the words, reliable and flaky. Therefore, it makes sense for me to believe that was referring to flaky as a term different from unreliable

in regards to moodiness, look at strong lunar placements and hard aspects to the Moon......I have a lunar apex t-square myself which I mentioned already in the thread. as for changing mind a lot and easily, that seems like a strong mutable and/or cadent. the t-square that I mentioned is mutable and in cadent houses.
Yes...I have a tendency to fluctuate a lot and change my mind about things.

I have a strong Uranus influence in my chart and Im far from flaky and unreliable in real life.(although I have my moments) When I say I will be somewhere, 99 percent of the time I will. I try to say what I mean, and not be flaky.
I would think Jupiter and Neptune aspects could cause flaky behavior. Jupiter for over expansion(promising more than they can deliver) and Neptune for deception(I will be over at 8, and never shows up or calls).

I would choose Neptune first, and jupiter 2nd. The flakiest person I knew was a Pisces rising, Mercury conj Jupiter, and Neptune conj MC. Yeah talk about flake influence.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. The person is both unreliable and flakey - as in eccentric and a bit 'dizzy'.
Very, very sweet natured. I can cope with the eccentricity, as I said, I'm Aqua
But this latest expression of unreliability today is making me want to just run very fast from this person, I'm so frustrated. His natal moon is opposite neptune today which doesn't seem to help matters.

please keep in mind that absentminded, forgetful, disorganized, "misplace/lose things",being late/losing track of time can seem flaky too
that also fits with the challenging side of Neptune. Because of that, they can get mistaken for being deceptive.

You know who those types ....they are the ones that come off like ditzy, airheads, daydreamers and fit the criteria for inattentive type ADHD
Dyspraxics tend to be absentminded, forgetful too. Dyspraxia and ADHD tend to be comorbid.

I know this personally. I drove my parents,my co-workers (especially in the navy) up the wall because of those things. My Neptune is in 3rd with Mercury parallel Neptune and Mercury conjunct Sun/Neptune midpoint. My Moon in Pisces in 6th (routine, organization) square Neptune also fits in with that too. My Saturn (time) oppose/contraparallel Neptune too.

the person probably could use some fish/cod liver oil for omega 3 fatty acids/DHA which helps with brain functioning. Fish really is brain food.
I take cod liver oil regularly myself for my Dyslexia,Dyspraxia,ADHD. It helps decrease my hypersensitivity and hyper-emotionality,and so makes me less stressed and helps me think more clearly and be more organized

so less flaky

I tell you straight up that I can be super-flaky. I would say that I was mega-flaky as a child.

The dictionary reference provided by Glaucus points to an Aquarian personality.

To me, seems more like a Gemini trait. A combination of both is likely to be best.
Gemini brings up a person caught in two minds.

Maybe Pisces too. More of the "I had a date with such and such 6 months ago, ooops. I forgot."

That kind of flakiness in terms of being forgetful, rather than the 2 minds Gemini type.

Good or bad. You think they appear aloof and flaky but are actually warm and deep?
Maybe it's the libra moon then. "she's loves me; she love me not" syndrome? lol

LARA! Of all the people, you had to be the first one to say Gemini Venus. My heart. It breaks.

Then again... I'm sure my Gemini Venus will find another for my heart. right. about. now. I'm over it.

But seriously... I can be seen as "unreliable" considering how swiftly my moods and thoughts can change. Mind you... I have Gemini Venus square Pisces Mars, too. You'd think that I'd be the most fickle, scatterbrained individual ever... but the Gemini Merc and Scorpio Moon keep everything in check. Actually, I'm quite stubborn in my decisions, although I lean towards making harsh decisions quite quickly. Sometimes more cautious or steadfast individuals see swift action as fickleness, which can be unfair. In my mind, I'm simply saving us all time by making a quick decision and then moving on.

I'll drop you as a friend in an instant if I decide to do so, and you can expect me to completely pull through with ignoring you. It's a flaw, but we all have our vices... So I dunno.
