I am gonna jump in and do something I don't normally do bc I think its kind of dumb but here it goes. What in a chart if anything makes ones nose smell greater then another persons. I mean I have the most sensitive nose ever. I can smell stuff from way far away. I have to vent here, my co-worker I love her but I don't know what it is that she brings in for lunch but it ALWAYS smells awful. Now we have a kitchen where there is two Microwaves and then in our suite area we have our own individual microwave that we don't have to share excpet us 9 ppl that are in my dept..I can't breathe sometimes when she heats her food up, like today it smells like baby booboo..Whewwww anyone else go through this with the nose thing.. I have an incredibly sensitive sense of smell. So much so that if i smell something i don't like for an extended period of time, it will manifest into a migraine.I think I read somewhere that people with strong Taurus in their charts have a keen sense of smell.

Well I don't have any Taurus in my chart. I was reading in this article the other day that women during ovulation can smell out thier potential mates..Or something like they enjoy the way their mates smell during that time. Thats true for me..Last time I was ovulating I kept smelling my bf and he was laying right next to me it was just something differnt I could just eat him up, but I see why. But uh my nose is very sensitive and if things smell to bad I get nausea and will gag here and there.. IP: Logged |

It's my ear that is sensitive, but I know what you mean. Nose, well, here's a tale for you, about a former co-worker who was fond of eating garlic cloves. I like you Dan, I said when I left, but I tell you what, the smell of that garlic made me want to heave in the morning sickness stage. Oh, he said, you pregnant? At the time I was about 8 months gone and looked like I'd swallowed a beach ball. I carried my boys all on the belly, I was huge. He seriously hadn't noticed. IP: Logged |

I had an operation on my nose to widen it and help me breathe better. I didnt really notice the difference after.Good sense of smell, but only when I focus on the smell. If Im walking around going about my business, my nose isnt really on until I switch it on. Egg Mayonaise is the worst. IP: Logged |

Yes! Everything from peoples perfumes they wear to stinky foods they have eaten eww, its ok if its something pleasant. But I want to go cross eyed an pass out from something offensive and if its too close to me. I don't know if having my Mars conjunct my ascendant has anything to do with this..but I can only imagine how much stronger my sense of smell would get if I was pregnant. ------------------

Well being pregnant doesn't help (I can't even stand the smell of my own perfumes... ) but I generally have a very keen sense of smell... so far that I could name the ingredients just by smelling a meal (including all different spices and other food used) My sense of taste is just as bad.All I can say is that I have no Taurus influence whatsoever; only my Ceres is there and my north node, and that's it. But everybody has a sense of smell, however good or bad it is; so maybe we should be looking at a house or a planet rather than a sign? IP: Logged |

Write mentioned Aries - I have lots of Aries (AC with Sun, Merc & Venus in 1st) and am very intolerant to a lot of fragrances - perfumes and in hair products, etc - they give me headaches (of course!). Essential oils too. I like the smell of men's cologne though, there's something warm about some of them. It doesn't seem as loud as women's fragrance or products. I kind of melt when a man who smells really good walks past.My son has an extraordinary sense of smell and he's got five planets in Aqua. I'm not sure astrology can answer this one though. That said, for some reason in my head, I tend to think smell is associated with Taurus. IP: Logged |

The other day my wife told me I have a nose of a Dog. She hates me for that! Have no idea if it points to astrology. IP: Logged |

I have an astro book that associates highly developed physical senses with Taurus on the 3rd house cusp. The reasoning is that the 3rd house is how we communicate with the world. With Taurus there, we integrate ourselves with the everyday world physically.About smell specifically, it says s/o with that placement "will remember his partners by a 'psychic scent,' which is always uniquely individualistic to each person." For strong senses I'd look to Taurus placements, and absent that, what your Venus is up to. Which house is your Venus in? Perhaps Venus heightens the physical sense associated with a particular house. I know it does that for me. I have it in the 3rd, and it's voices I'm most sensitive to - the voice is the physical trait that most attracts & repels me. Also, it's from their voices that I instantly recognize long-lost acquaintances. Where as for you, you'd walk into a room decades from now, smell that familiar baby booboo and know that your old coworker is back & feasting. IP: Logged |

eveInteresting view point regarding Venus placements. I too have Venus in the 3rd; Venus is also my chart ruler. Taurus on the other hand is in the 8th with no aspects to it.

Taurus in the third house here. I never realized I had a great sense of smell until I was 21 and had surgery on my nose to fix a deviated septum. Oh my, the smells I smelled after I healed. It was as if every other place presented an assault to my nose. Suddenly, offensive odors were absolutely unbearable to me. I still can't walk into a New York City subway station that's been cleaned recently without feeling like I need to run. That commercial antiseptic smell ... I cannot bear it. And the smell lingers in my nostrils for hours afterwards. Same with any bad odor. Crazy!IP: Logged |

I read somewhere that the nose was the part of the face that corresponded to Scorpio, actually. Which kind of makes sense, more so to me, than Taurus.IP: Logged |

Scorp31: Taurus on the 8th sounds enjoyable. With Venus in the 3rd, are you also sensitive to voices?I don't know which house placement would point to a sensitive nose. I think Mia's Venus is in her 1st house, so that would be a Taurus/Aries blend. So that would fit Writesomething's hypothesis and PeaceAngel's astro profile (Aries galore w/ Taurus Mars and Venus in the 1st). My sense of smell is probably average. I have no planets in Aries or Taurus. IP: Logged |

Oh, just thought of something. I don't even notice someone's personal scent much unless it's someone I'm already sexually attracted to, then I'm very sensitive to it. I have Taurus on the 7th. That explains why my physical senses perk up drastically around someone I'm already thinking of as my partner. I know everyone's more sensitive sensually to a partner, but the shift I undergo is pronounced. I transform from Mr. Magoo to someone on ecstacy regarding someone's appearance, scent, and feel. So my experience fits the book's theory that a Taurus cusp shows a heightened physical approach to that house. IP: Logged |

EveYes I am quite sensitive to voices I also have this uncanny ability to mimic a persons voice, right down to timbre and inflection (within my range of course) it really unnerves my friends when I imitate them
