on the astro.com site, when you head to Extended Chart Selection, there's an option to select Lilith from the Additional Objects menu. but, if you click on "Asteroid name/number list with 14574 names", Lilith is also listed there as an asteroid. i selected both, and they both seem to each be in different signs in my chart. is this a mistake from astro.com, or are there two types of Lilith?

This is one of the reasons why I wish that the black moon would stop being called Lilith

the first one that you're talking about is the black moon aka lunar apogee (the point of the moon's orbit that is most distant from the Earth....so it's a lunar type of energy). It's not an actual physical object.

the second one that you're talking about is the asteroid Lilith.

I would say that they are much different in their influences, especially with the lunar apogee having to do with lunar symbolism, traits, but more the shadow side. That's why it's called the Black Moon.

the true black moon lilith is listed as h13 under hypothetical objects.

Agreed, Raymond, agreed. This is one question that I get from budding astrologers all the time: "Is Lilith ("that cross/moon thingy") the same as the asteroid?"

I very much agree with both of you, that`s why I always call the Black Moon BML and when I write Lilith, I am speaking about the asteroid.

Glaucus,

how important do you think is BML in a chart interprettion, natal and synastry?

Since it relates to the Moon, I thought it might be pretty significant, as well as the Nodes, which also have lunar symbolism?

Just thinking now:
If BML is associated with the myth of Lilith, would Moon then be associated with the symbolism of Eve?

so if the first one is in Libra at 25 degrees, and the 2nd one was in Scorpio at 35 degreees, what does this mean?

Glaucus,

"how important do you think is BML in a chart interprettion, natal and synastry?"

"Since it relates to the Moon, I thought it might be pretty significant, as well as the Nodes, which also have lunar symbolism?"

Yeah...I agree.

"Just thinking now:

Eve seems like the traditional female stereotype in regards to being submissive, nurturing, taking care of children, and doing all the cooking and cleaning. It seems that Eve fits with the symbolism of the Moon.

Lilith seems like the archetypal feminist who wants to be equal to male which she should be. She's not going to be the type that will want to stay home, cook, clean house, and take care of the children. She might not even want to be married nor have children. She will probably be the type that will keep her last name even if she is married. This could seem to fit with rebelling against the female traditions, and there is nothing wrong with that. She will also seem to be very liberal too,and will be into equal rights for minorities and others that are treated inferiorly. She will be independent, believing that she needs no man to take care of her. She could be unconventional, unpredictable like the true black moon's movement is erratic and retrogrades often compared to the mean black moon lilith that never retrogrades and is circular in its motion that seems to more fictitious. With it being based on the moon's orbit, it's also connected to sensitivity, emotions, feelings, unconscious, and intuition..even psychism. with it being the distant point of the moon's orbit from the Earth, it might be occult.

I believe that hard black moon aspects could indicate challenges involving gender equality, erratic behavior, and rebelliousness as well as hypersensitivity as well feeling oppressed, and held back from being their true selves

The easy black moon aspects could indicate gender equality, liberalism, and nontraditional female roles are accepted and tolerated, easy emotional attunement, intuitive connection

I have true Black Moon conjunct Sun with 21 minutes of arc and trine my Moon with 2'31 orb. I am male feminist, believing in gender equality. I am an overall liberal person. I have been rebellious too. My exgf was a feminist. She even told me that I am more of a feminist than she is. I would like to have a wife and children. I would have an equal partnership. Both my wife and I would be head of the household, and not just me. There would be no stereotypical male and female roles in the household. She and I would cook, clean, and take care of the children together.

I do have strong feminine traits. I was told by a psychic that I have too much female energy and that I have to work on my male energy. I do have high estrogen levels reflected by my index fingers being longer than my ring fingers which reflects being exposed to more estrogen in my mom's womb.
I think that it's possible that I have had a lot of pastlives as female, and I probably have some strong karma with feminists too. With it being in Scorpio in 2nd, it could involve death and finances. Maybe I was involved in executing women for being witches when they really were just strong, financially independent women that went against the status quo. Heck....maybe I was one of those that got executed. I read that a lot of women that were killed in Salem for being witches were actually falsely accused because they were the financially independent types.

synastry aspects to my Sun will also aspect my black moon and my moon....so it's not just my masculine energies being activated, but also my overall feminine energies being activated.
