what transits usually spark an interest in working out/dieting/being more healthy? i've always found that this time of year is when i start to feel the need to start exercising again. right now, venus is in my 6th house and mars just entered my 7th. with the retrograde, venus has been in my 6th house for nearly over a month. i've been running on the treadmill and doing yoga like crazy. i'm pretty addicted to the afterburn: that feeling of heat rising from your body after an intense workout. i love it!

note: when the sun is in early pisces and going through my 5th house, lo and behold... i indulge in mindless self-gratification (bar hopping galore) and food (it's cold out! i need some warm comfort!). then three or so weeks later when the sun enters aries and has been transiting through my 6th house, i feel like a slob and i get my butt back into gear. it's always like this.

anyways, another note: pisces mars... i'm starting to get into yoga. i've never had the concentration before, but i find it absolutely essential to meditate before a workout. if i enter a workout without meditating for about 15 minutes, i find that my mind is too scattered and i focus too hard on the workout rather than just running and spacing out so time goes by faster. i may like the afterburn... but getting there is never fun! lol i think i may need a workout buddy.

I find music-rnb or electronic- and watching action/adventure movies/tv series every once in a while quite motivating ! Especially movies that have kick ass female characters lol

Another tip somebody gave me was to exercise for 6 weeks then take a 1 week break. And I think to have 1/2 days off during the week so the muscles can rest etc

I think that when the moon is in Virgo, most people in general are more inclined to think about health matters and diet.

On an individual level, when planets like Saturn, Mars, Moon, Pluto are transiting 6th house or making aspects to natal planets in 6th house of health is also a good time to think about dieting. But planets like Jupiter and Neptune do not exactly make one want to diet and restrict oneself...

Current Transits:

Turns out Mars is still in my 6th house, but slowly getting close to conjunct my DC. Uranus has been in my 6th house for a very long time... and will be for a very, very long time...

I also just realized that Neptune, Jupiter & Chiron is in my 5th house! Luckily, I'm controlling my indulgent nature...

I've noticed that t.Saturn square/opp my Sun-Neptune does this to me.

Natally I have Mars in Virgo. I am pretty good about eating right and exercising regularly.

But with this Saturn transit, my appetite shrinks and I want only plain foods. The minimum fills me up, and even thinking about another bite makes me sick. As a Sag, I'm normally more gluttonous.

I was the same way when I experienced Saturn opp my Sun, so I'm pretty sure this is just a temporary thing and my normal appetite will return.

The way I work out has changed too. Now I'm more interested in building strength than I am into breaking a sweat, and I'm usually the opposite. I used to run most days, now for cardio I'm content with long walks in my favorite park.

You're lucky it's a yearly transit that gets you into shape. If I didn't natally have Mars in Virgo, I'd be in shape only every 7 years.

Well, at the same rate, I have to say that I have an unusual amount of emotional investment into how well I perform and how good the outcome of my work becomes, in general. When it comes to exercise, I push my body to the limits. Sometimes, it's to the point where if I don't perform well enough, I'll push myself farrr beyond my comfort zone. I'm not talking eating disorders here - I mean exercise. Right now, my goal is to lose 14 pounds in 7 weeks. I weigh 135 right now. I'm 5'6". I'm sure once I hit 125, I'll be happy. I just like to aim higher... or lower rather, in this case, to push myself harder. I put a lot of pressure on myself to succeed. I'm not sure if that's anywhere in my chart, but I put a lot of stress on myself. I like to sweat, both in the metaphorical and literal sense.
