One of my friend's thinks men responses on astrology msg boards are more better than woman's because their less biased, and women seem less objective and bitter. what do you think? Of course, I disagree with her for obvious womanly reasons. lol.IP: Logged |

i disagree too obviously, but, having said, it is commonly accepted that women are the cause for the fall of humanity. so, may be... BTW, i'm just a guy, so less biased. IP: Logged |

I think....Men are better on astrology boards because they are more logical. Astrology is logical, as we know it.Women ten to think in a Jupiter way - illogical. Or make up whatever communication style opposite to logical. The creative aspects from the planet, the art of the subject will be good for women. The structure and application will not be good for women. Most women. Men - Mars - Aries rising, think in a logical way (Gemini on 3rd) Women - Venus - Libra rising, think in an illogical way (Sagittarius on 3rd) IP: Logged |

holy crumpets, coffee! so true; logic vs. intuition. both are relevent, and an equal mix of both is best. the other two cardinals can maybe be part of the equation as well? capricorn and cancer; authority and emotion? but just a little.. IP: Logged |

Most men wouldn't even be on a astrology board if they were so logical in the first place. heheIP: Logged |

I'd say it's a fair share between men and women. Men are "traditionally" considered more logical, while women are said to be more intuitive. Astrology not being an exact science (pseudo social science) requires both logic and intuition.Edit: looks like Woah City beat me to it. IP: Logged |

I wouldn't agree with your friend Write. Men and women can both possess characteristics akin to the opposite sex - some men are more feminine by nature, some women more masculine. But if we were to generalise by taking a 'typical' woman and 'typical' man, I think they both offer as much as each other.Coffee, I agree men have a better understanding of structure, pattern and form. Though women have a more intuitive understanding. From my personal perspective, I find a womans viewpoint on astrology far more interesting than a mans. The feminine principle is something I hope to integrate into my own consciousness, one of the reasons I choose to read a forum dominated by women! Although the male side of logic can be unerringly accurate, it really doesnt hold a candle to the depth of feminine insight when trying to understand a complexity of depth. Some things just have to be felt rather than thought to be understood. Every mans purpose is to learn that from women. IP: Logged |

Your friend is sexist. It's a gross generalization to say that men are more logical when there are many logic-oriented charts that belong to women.Example: Me. Mercury in Aquarius, sextile Uranus and Saturn, Gemini Rising, Aquarius Sun... BAM. quote: Women ten to think in a Jupiter way - illogical. Or make up whatever communication style opposite to logical. The creative aspects from the planet, the art of the subject will be good for women. The structure and application will not be good for women. Most women.Men - Mars - Aries rising, think in a logical way (Gemini on 3rd) Women - Venus - Libra rising, think in an illogical way (Sagittarius on 3rd)
Jupiter is a masculine planet, Libra and Sagittarius are masculine signs. IP: Logged |

What a load of blah. If there are any differences at all it would be that women are better at putting words on their emotions than men, but the huge amount of examples where it's the other way around makes a generalization totally pointless. And it is actually possible to express feelings and be logical at the same time, let's get pass the old gender roles already.IP: Logged |

Gender roles do exist though Nyah. They appear in virtually every facet of human society. And it is possible to unify logic and feeling as one. Its just that noone has done it yet.IP: Logged |

Hey, I listened in science class or whatever it is. Of course each sex can hold and appreciate an opposing style. That didnt really need to be said, but thank you for bringing it up. I was looking at the problem in a logical way

I'd say it completely depends on the individual. I've met a good mix of stone-cold logical women and hysterically emotional men. And yet some people can fit into the gender stereotypes a little too easily.

Hmm...to a certain degree. I mean women base their opinions on emotions while men do so on logic. Not that women don't...but...then again...it seems there are more women who have a deeper interest in astrology than men.IP: Logged |

It might be true that women are naturally more emotional, but they can be logical, objective and clear in communication too.Well, maybe we often see more women talking and asking for insights about their relationships problems, that it seemed that women are more desperate and subjective, but when it comes to objective, logical debates, women can also be as logical, objective and clear as men. Besides, women can be more compassionate and intuitive towards others that they can actually understand things better. By the way, Mars/Aries has always been known for its impulsiveness and far from being intellectual, whereas Venus/Libra has always been known for being fair and intellectual. And Libra is a masculine sign. ^_~; If I have to compare men and women with planets, then maybe men would be Mercury while women would be Neptune, since men are generally categorized as logical, objective and clear in communication, yet women can be less objective or clear but are more intuitive and compassionate. None of the sides are better or worse, their different ways helps us understand things in different planes. IP: Logged |

Hmmmm, I would say that statement is a weee bit stereotypical? Or perhaps he was just looking at alot of the posts and not the responses? I mean, for one thing about 95% of them are about love (meh) and most ppl aren't very logical in love...thats human nature. Secondly, there *are* more female posters than male here. I mean, I'm sure if the board was dominated by a different topic, like say something scientific then he wouldn't have that impression. Atleast that's what I think. *shrugs* IP: Logged |
