Transiting Pluto is currently opposing my natal Sun and Venus exactly and transiting Venus is currently opposing my natal Pluto with an orb of about 5 degrees. Transiting Pluto is moving through my 8th house opposing my 2nd and Transiting Venus is moving through my 11th opposing my 5th.

So basically, what I'm asking is: should my life (and finances) feel completely out of control? This is normal right?

What the **** am I supposed to be learning here? I think I get it, but I may need to hear it from someone else - just to get it solidified in my sad little head.

Thanks Valus! The sad irony is, I cannot afford that book right now. Ha! My financial problems have taken a turn for the worse recently so I cannot even justify spening the $2.92 it costs to buy a used copy.

But maybe in a month.

However I do appreciate the link

Pluto/Venus transits are rough, dude. I went through a Pluto square Venus/conjunct DSC around 2 years ago and it made me completely insane (as in clingy, jealous... I have Venus in Pisces) in regards to boys. Completely changed the direction of my love life, though. I'm actually kind of happy it happened.

It seems to have more to do with money for me...or perhaps security? I guess because I have Venus in the 2nd and Pluto is going through my 8th.

Either way, you're right. It IS rough dude.

I had the Pluto square my sun and it left my 8th house recently. It was nothing short of hell lol. I would think the opposition is a little easier than the square.
For me, I can't say specifically what it was about because so many things seemed to go under the knife - love, home, career, finances...there wasn't much spared. But I will say the transformation was incredible - it's like you're left standing a lot more solidly and confidently at the end of the transit, and become 'cleansed' on some level, and purified within.

I think personal strength and resolve is tested BIG TIME during this transit. I realize it's different since I had the square and not the opposition and only on my sun and not my Venus (I had the sextile on my Venus, but I also had Saturn squaring my Mars and Venus in the process during that transit)....in general though, I would say there's no 'getting away', like whatever you might be avoiding or not looking at might be brought to the forefront and you're kind of made to LOOK at it, maybe not under the most pleasant circumstances. So it's cathartic.
But in the process you find hidden gems and strength that you never knew you had, and become more aware of them than before. So the payoff from this transit is huge, I feel, even though it's not pleasant.

yes, MVM, sounds familiar!! i had the sun square at the same time as uranus/neptune AND saturn transiting 12th house - excruciating. but also pluto gives you that steamroller strength somehow to keep going - thank god! i am thinking that it's seldom a solo transit...?

at the end of that time i had a new life, everything was different!

the trick is to ALLOW pluto to show you what you need to see, and despite feeling like a bit of flotsam, to not resist the changes you need to make...it can be excruciating but EXHILARATING too i think!

when pluto squared my venus (the opposition will not come for a few more years!) my grandson was born! this has put a strain on my purse (understatement) and some difficult but healing times with my daughter, but i think after the earlier saga i am pretty much ready for anything. pluto has a way of growing you up and into your power.

UGH, I hated Saturn passing through my 12th, Katatonic! Painful!

Exhilarating is a good way to describe the Pluto transit, and you're right, I think it's important to let Pluto do its business lol. Just like with Saturn how I've learned to sit back and let it 'drive' and know I'll be able to do 'the right thing', because on some level Saturn's also about building self-reliance and self-worth from the ground up.

Toward the very end of those transits, right as Pluto was leaving my 8th was when it seemed all things were reaching a crescendo, it was like a grand finale, complete with orchestra and a climactic chorus of sopranos shattering glass windows

.....and then the sun started to rise

Yeah I agree that Pluto is definitely making me take a look at A LOT of things that are due for a transformation, it's just that, like you mentioned MVM, it's happening all at once! It maketh me craaaazy!

The funny thing is that I have Pluto squaring my Sun/Venus natally and my boyfriend has the natal Venus/Pluto opposition. Now I'm dealing with the opposition by transit and he's going through the square. I guess we're helping each other through it, which is the nice part.

But oh man, talk about triggers!

one thing i wish i had known when i was less conscious of the power of these transits is that they really don't take away anything that is strong enough or valuable enough to be worth keeping! working with these transits opens you to your own intuition and a sense that the universe really is a SUPPORTIVE place even during the dark nights of the soul...

Transit Pluto is right now conjunct my natal Neptune, square my Sun, sextile my Pluto, and trine my Mars and AC. X3

It's kinda draining, but I have a feeling that I'm going through positive changes and cleaning all the old stuffs. I also feel that I'm becoming more and more realistic.. it's not neglecting/abandoning my sense of idealism and dreams/hopes, but rather learning more about reality and how to blend these two sides together.
