I'm baffled. Last year and up until March when Jupiter was in my sixth house, I had been in three temp jobs where I hardly did any work at all. In fact, in one of the jobs, I spent much of my time watching TV online and listening to the radio. The pay in all three was good but I found myself becoming more disheartened because I was bored and didn’t feel like my career was going anywhere. Jupiter is now in my 7th house and after a brief spell of unemployment I got another temp job at the beginning of May. I’m earning even more money, nearly $67,000, but they’ve given me hardly any work to do. One boss simply told me to ‘look busy’ but there’s only so much reading of a web page a person can do! He did say things should pick up in the coming weeks; however I can’t understand why I keep on finding myself in these identical types of situations. At first I thought it was down to Jupiter being in my 6th house but could it now be due to mercury’s retrograde slowing things down? Or is the universe simply trying to tell me something? And if so, what do you reckon it is? To be honest these jobs have been ‘filler’ roles, not that I entered them with that expectation – I actually thought I’d be given work to do! Deep down I’d like to be a published author but that is never going to pay me a decent salary, so I’ve been trying to find a permanent job but unfortunately haven’t been able to find one that I’d think I’d enjoy. So I’ve been temping to make ends meet. A few friends tell me I should relax and ‘thank my lucky stars’ but I’m desperate to break this crazy cycle as it’s having a negative affect on my self-esteem. The only positive thing out of this cycle has been my earnings. Three years ago I was stuck in a rut at the company I was working for, earning ¾ less than I’m getting now. And this year I managed to become a manager for the first time. Although bizarrely, at the request of my bosses, it was my assistant who was doing all the hard work – my bosses didn’t want me to do it, which again meant I hardly had anything to do! And in this new job that I’m in, I was actually taken off a project where I had stuff to do, and at this moment in time, I’m doing nothing. From an astrological perspective, why do you think I keep on finding myself in this situation? And looking at my transits, do you think I can break this cycle sometime soon and find a better role? How dare they not make you work! Report them at once! Yeah, I would rather do more work than not much.Only thing I can see involving work is your Saturn return. Assuming that Leo rising is correct, when Sun squares Saturn in 11 days or so, it is likely to get worse. Make the most of it. The even more positive news is: after Saturn has fully returned, it will conjunct/aspect Sun. Work is likely to get better over the next 3-5 years, when it will peak. Though these next 11 or so days will see a temporary lull on all the goodness that Saturn brings. Maybe just something simple like stuffing envelopes. IP: Logged |

If you research and write your book instead of surfing the 'net you will look busy and will be getting paid to write, albeit indirectly. One of my friends worked as a security guard. He patrolled the grounds every hour. For the rest of the time, instead of watching T.V or staring into space, he carried on with his latest painting. When he finished it, he sold it. He said he also got paid for where he painted it.

blue moon has it on the nose. That is exactly what I was going to say. The Universe is giving you the opportunity to write. Use it!

I had a job in publishing for the last 4 years that was exactly like you described. Once in a while and very far between I'd get saddled with a project that seemed like it was going to be huge and then it would fizzle out somehow. Yes, everyone thinks it's wonderful to have a job where you do nothing, even I did for a while, but then you start wondering why you're really there, why did they hire you, how worthy am I? I want to feel like I'm accomplishing something. And I did what everyone is suggesting. In that span of time, 4 years, I wrote 2 novels, 1 screenplay and started my own internet business. I had to do it quietly and respectfully in a way where I wouldn't get caught, but because it was a publishing company I was never questioned by the excess amount of writing I was doing or the excess amount of editing. I always put their work first, but there was still loads of time to do my own stuff. I was hired when Jupiter was conjunct my Pluto. PLuto co-rules my 6th House. I started on the day Jupiter was conjunct my Uranus which rules my MC. Understand that sometimes the Universe really does pay us to do our own work in mysterious ways. My next job that I started in January gave me sooooo much work, it was mind boggling. I even had that thought of, "How dare they make me work!!" I have to say it was refreshing and I felt like I was valued. IP: Logged |
