what would indicate someone being very kind, or loving, and having a 'heart'.

and what would indicate someone being the opposite, perhaps cold, reserved, with little feelings for others?

in the natal chart, aspects or placements? house themes?

I tend to go on instinct with that one.
Some might say certain cuddly aspects make a person 'better' or seem 'sweeter, but I've seen way too many exceptions, and it's impossible to know without listening to your own intuition.
No way around that one, sorry.

Men with Venus/Neptune Trine have struck me as being particularly kind and caring. Also Moon/Jupiter people are often ready to give and show love. Expansive Moon - there is a lot of feeling to give.

Heartless. Moon CNJ Saturn, now I'm not saying everyone with this placement is heartless and lacking in compassion, but here we may find someone (like I do) whom life has made cynical, and whose strong feelings are crushed down deep. They may seem cold but that isn't necessarily the case.

Yes I have found that people, with Moon conjunction Jupiter(or trine, sextile)tend to be alot more expressive with their love an more willing to give to a partner in need. Its like they wear their affection on their sleeve lol! Also someone with their Moon in 4th house, but then again the person may want to make you a part of their home and being warm and hospitable more so...as far as no heart aspects or placements I haven't really stuck around these people long enough to know what makes them heartless in the first place. I hang out with the warm an fuzzy ones

Yeah I've seen very sweet aspects in people's charts, and they weren't lol...that's kind of why I am a bit suspicious of calling any aspect concrete...

I do see a lot of sweetness in Venus/Neptune, true...and Jupiter is also very demonstrative, I've noticed. Jupiter/Moon is nice too.
Blue Moon is right about Moon/Saturn...I have seen some coldness with this, or more like a reluctance to express feelings.

I think it's probably looking at the whole picture too...a lot of aspects to Jupiter, Moon, and even Neptune can make someone demonstrative, more willing to express or have a 'kinder' disposition. I just feel weird saying that because I know there's a lot of jerks out there with great-looking charts too lol....I think it's what people do with their chart that counts ultimately, not what they were just born with.

I've noticed people with close hard mars saturn aspects being cold and having little depth to their feeling nature, though they may not seem like it at first if they have prominent water signs. Also venus uranus hard aspects.

Capricorns have been known to be cold hearted, lacking emotion. Which is fine for a sign opposite the more open and receptive Cancer.
Just think of an old cliche of a manager. All about the job, getting results, targets, without caring much about the person.

I guess Leo fits the word "warm"
Cancer too.

Much more about positive aspects to the ASC ruler. Not wise to bunch them by sign.
