We all know how hard it is to be objective about astrology when we or the people we love are involved, so I'm coming here in desperation. This is a situation dear to my heart and I would love some objective input. My father is a college vice president and has been having ongoing power struggles with his boss (college president) for the past year. Recently, on the exact day of his second Saturn return, she handed him a letter giving him the boot. Everyone who knows my father is in disbelief -- he is the most hard-working, compassionate, dedicated employee, never receives negative feedback from ANYONE, busts his bum to make the college work... etc. As best as I can tell, the motivation behind all this is that the president feels very threatened by him, his ideas, and the fact people like him much more than they like her. She is more impulsive and reckless in his decisions, while he is more thorough and traditional. I believe this is reflected clearly in the synastry with his Saturn on top of her Mars/Pluto/Uranus/moon conjunction. He is now facing stress-related heart problems, meeting with psychologists, facing the possibility of losing his home, and recovering from the shock and pain of this "impossible" situation happening. I have never seen him so depressed. There are so many issues tangled in this, but I'll try to keep it simple. My father is most likely going to sue, especially if he doesn't get a severance package. He has a number of strong things in his favor -- including the fact that the president has gone against ADA standards in some of her treatment of him (he has a disability), and he has evidence of harassment on her part (eg, cruel e-mails and phone calls while he was on sick leave for heart problems) . And yet there is no sure bet that he'll win, or how long the lawsuit would drag on for, etc. I have his boss's birth info, and I've been studying the transits to both their charts for the past few days. Obviously, I'm looking for signs of things turning out in his favor, so my interpretation is probably biased. I'm worried because in a couple months, he will have an exact square between transiting Pluto and his natal Venus -- huge change in finances? -- suggesting the outcome might not be in his favor money-wise. What's interesting, though, is that transiting Saturn is going to be conjunct his boss's natal Pluto at the end of June. Could this represent the life-changing event of getting slammed with a lawsuit (which would probably be for 1 or 2 million dollars)? And coming up after that is Saturn conjunct her moon... which, to me, suggests that the outcome may leave her in emotional ruins or depression. Again, I'm completely biased and so blinded by emotion that I can't read the charts objectively. The first chart I'm attaching is my dad's natal and transits; the second is his boss's natal and transits; and the third is their synastry. If anything else would be helpful, let me know and I will post it. I would be indebted to anyone who has the time to look at these charts and see what the future may hold for the situation. Would a lawsuit be a bad idea, or would the outcome be in his favor? What would the best plan of action be at this point? Any input would be absolutely treasured; thank you in advance.Dad's natal and transits: IP: Logged |

I am sorry about your dad's situation, origami_salami it immediately stood out to me that he has tr. BML opposing natal Sun/MC/Merc! I had tr. BML conj natal MC opposing Sun too when I was wronged by my boss! it was so mean cozz I worked so hard and helped him with his job too to save his ass btw! but when I saw this transit I calmed down and realized that this is a real test for my self-conception, my own sense of value, my dignity and this knowledge helped me a lot; but I cannot compare my situation to his of course ... wow you dad also has Saturn return that activated squares to Chiron and Venus + tr. Sun opposing Chiron reinforced the T-square! the chart does not show it, he has a T-square with Chiron, Venus and Saturn, Saturn being a focal point... it must be really difficult for your dad and tr. Pluto is square the Nodes ... for him it must feel like his lifework is being taken away from him ... I need to look as his solar charts ... does he live in Chicago? IP: Logged |

From what I see in his 2009/10 solar chart (ref.place: Flagstaff), it looks like he might move to another city/country?? or at least move house (Uranus on IC, IC ruler Neptune in the 3rd, its dispositor Uranus on IC) sASC on n3rd house, his solar IC falls on natal NN so he need to focus on his family, his year career should not be his priority I dont like these squares to his Mars in the 6th (falls on natal 8th), he should be careful of his health, this job-related situation is causing him too much distress solar 8th falls on natal 9th, s Saturn in the 9th, MC in the 12th >> it is going to be a transition period for him, his whole mindset might change I think he has a chance to win the case he has solar Merc/Saturn sextile (Merc being solar MC, DSC ruler, Saturn being 2HR) but it wont be easy cozz there is loose opposition from BML to it, so he may be often tepmted to give up stellium in the 3rd there going to be lots of paperwork maybe lots of trips too may I ask do you have any siblings?? I 'think' there must be something connected with his children too, like maybe expecting a baby? in one word, something important for his children, his family please mind I am not a professional astrologer so I may be off with my interpretation, am still trying to learn to read solar charts IP: Logged |

Thank you SO SO SO much, Peri.Indeed, it looks like he will definitely be moving. He got notice today that his boss is NOT giving him any sort of severance package or compensation. Basically he is going from making over $100,000 a year to making zero... it will be harder to get unemployment since he lost his last job from being fired. He and my mom are now going to sell their house and probably declare bankruptcy. You're dead-on about this bringing on a mindset change for him. I already see that starting. I'm trying very hard to encourage him to see the 'good' in this -- he was neglecting so many of his passions and talents while working this job; in a strange way, this is a great wake-up call forcing him to shift his priorities and use the rest of his life for something he truly enjoys doing. I don't have any siblings. However, I am moving from Oregon to Arizona to go live with them and help them get through this tough time, so maybe that's what you're seeing? Even if you aren't a professional, you've helped me enormously. THANK YOU! IP: Logged |

hi oragami_salami there's little I could add that Peri hasn't already said. Tell your Dad to stand his ground, file the lawsuit and then let the College deal with that headache. The College President will have to justify her actions and if she can't, it's her butt too.Hey Peri I have a big ol smile on my face you are so good you're an astro gem IP: Logged |

Saturn helps good people, especially in the second Saturn Return. This year will also be Jupiter return for your Dad. Go for it earnestly and win the case. Mostly, there will be a favourable out of court settlement and a fantastic new job for your dad where he is genuinely appreciated.IP: Logged |

Where Should You Live At Your Second Saturn Return? This is a question that comes up around the second Saturn Return, at 58 – 60 years old. It’s like our second chance, and there are often drastic changes. Some people orchestrate theirs. Others, if you aren’t aware, have them happen to them. It’s a time of life change and an opportunity you don’t want to miss. You always have a growing edge, no matter how old you are. Unless you decide you don’t, in which case you are right! http://www.content4reprint.com/culture-and-society/where-should-you-live-at-your-second-saturn-return.htm IP: Logged |

For legal aspects in a chart, you look to house 1 ruler (self) and house 9 ruler (law)In over a month, your Dad will have both Mercury and venus in close aspect (very good) with his natal Mercury and Venus. Mercury to venus, Venus to Mercury, Venus to Venus, and Mercury to Mercury. This is excellent. Combined with a bit of fame for him (11th house return, which is ruled by Sun) which could coincide with a day in court, it would be best to do that. For his boss, he has 1st ruler as Pluto ad 9th ruler as Moon.
Pluto is Seperating from Moon and was square it about 15 degrees ago. Combine that long transit with New Moon square Pluto right now for your Dads boss. Your Dad is going through an excellent time for legal related matters. Your Dads boss is going through a very bad time for legal related matters. Put them both together and it seems good for your Dad. How did you get the time for your Dads boss? Just asked him? If you move quickly and get it done, should be fine. Anything in 3months or so, will be decent for your dads boss. IP: Logged |

IQ -- thank you! I didn't even realize my dad had his Jupiter return coming up. That is great news.Coffee -- thank you tremendously for your detailed interpretation. It is so reassuring. Luckily, my father *is* working quickly on all of this, and has been in contact with almost a dozen lawyers over the past few days... he just needs to find someone who will take his case. Hopefully it will actually be in court within 3 months... hard to say because there are a lot of issues involved and it might be a complicated trial. Oh, and I got the boss's birth time right after she first started working at the college (about a year ago). I was there visiting my dad while she was there, and I brought up the subject of birth times possibly correlating to whether someone is a "morning person" or nigh-owl... great trick for getting a birth time without specifically mentioning astrology. Spiritually speaking, is this woman the real cause of woe, or an agent of something else? Perhaps, even of your dad.I like the cyclic approach to transits. To get a true understanding of what's happening now, it's best to review the events surrounding the last Square & Opposition Saturn made to itself in your dad's chart. IP: Logged |

Everyone has done such a wonderful job here. The last thing I want to add is that she uses her stellium in Virgo to be totally crazy b1tch in the work place. Notice how she has Uranus conjunct Mars? Mars rules her 6th House of service, cooperation, employement, and employees. I have a strong feeling she won't last long. Also, as Saturn continues to travel across that stellium over the rest of the year, it doesn't look like she'll be winning anything. NOtice that Saturn is currently transiting her Pluto, and Pluto rules her ASC. This is affecting her health also. And when Saturn crosses her Moon which rules her 9th House of Higher Education, I wouldn't be surprised to see her career end in some way or she may receive some kind of punishment of some sort, a reprimand, whatever it is they do at colleges and Universities. One last thing to tell your Dad when he seems like he wants to give up: "All of your efforts count, even when it doesn't look like it."
