The 7th house is so often described in terms of relationships - the kind of partner you like/want/have.

Please tell me there is more to it than this, I have 4 planets in this house.

What does the 7th house say about your chart? Is it empty? What sign is on the cusp?

Mine is Taurus, Venus is sitting on the Descendant. The Sun, Mercury and Saturn are all in this house.

I think this house is about relating to other people not just your marital partner. Saturn here shows how I have resisted accepting that being a people person and making relationships work is a major part of my life. I would have liked to have been more dynamic but I suppose I have to accept my talents in life, they are unseen ones and often not really accepted as success in our material world. I also have Libra Moon. It either doesn't help or does depending upon perspective.

I'm really interested in hearing what other people make of this part of their chart. It's on everyone's empty or otherwise.

I have Cancer on the 7th house cusp, it's empty unless I count Chiron in Leo.

Ruler is in Moon in Pisces in the 2nd or 3rd house.

My love life sounds sappy so far..and with chiron(wound), I have a fear of rejection in relationships.

Pisces Moon 3rd/2nd house- I may want a dreamer, someone spiritual yet grounded, sensual and physical, someone to share and talk with about everything ranging to normal everyday subjects to otherworldly things..

Cancer Descendant- Is probably how I already how I am in relationships..

Cheshire Kat:

"My love life sounds sappy so far..and with chiron(wound), I have a fear of rejection in relationships"

Who doesn't ? lol

I have most of my planets dispersed in the 7th and 8th house.

I have venus, Saturn and Pluto there.
I prefer my relationships (whether platonic or intimate) more on the intense side.

I don't know if that makes sense at all, but as mcuh as I am demanding about relationships being that way, I am slow to open up.

I often find that many people are attracted to me and want to be friends but I perceive them as too "fickle".

I love honest people though.

I have Cancer on the 7th house cusp, Moon-Saturn (conjunct), and Venus in my 7th. Both my chart ruler and cusp ruler are in the 7th.

I am very fragile and oversensitive about even the idea of romantic rejection. I know no one likes that feeling, but it's such a Huge Deal for me, while in other areas of my life I am way less thin-skinned. I'm very Cancerian about that one issue. In every other area of my life, I really show my 8th house Leo Sun-Merc and Scorpio MC.

I just posted this on the 7th house Saturn thread, but here is Anne Ortelee's list of what the 7th house covers:

quote:
Seventh House: Libra - Air Cardinal Cooperation Face to Face Relationships
Business and marital partners, marriage, divorce, contracts, lawsuits, bargains, agreements, dealings with the public, public's response to you, open enemies, cooperation with others, lack of cooperation, what you most lack in your self, attitudes towards marriage, your mate, kind and quality of your marriages, how many marriages, grandparents, people who act as your agent or on your behalf, public relations, unions, kidneys, ovaries, lower half of back, participation, interaction, oppositions, sharing, competition, compromise, fairness, others return what they feel you deserve, reconciliation, equality, alternatives, obstruction, blockages, withdrawal, behavior, manners, etiquette, social skills, how others help you or fight you, peace, harmony, tolerating differences, virtues, bitchiness, law suit

Neptune in Sagittarius seventh house.

I guess I tend to idealize friendship/relationship. I go extra miles for anyone and get disappointed when they don't for me. In my mind, everyone should jump to helping each other. Unrealistic I know, but i can't help but feel disappointed every time. I learned to expect it.

Romatically, i'm really attracted to people with a big smile on their face, an optimistic attitude and kind of a clown. Hehe. I guess Sagittarius shows.

I have Taurus on the Descendant/7th house cusp, and it's ruler venus in aries/4th house.
No planets in the seventh, but Chiron conjuncts it by 1 degree from the 6th.

How have I experienced it? I do value loyalty and simplicity (no mind games for me) in a partner. I like partners who are comfortable in who they are and with their own bodies and are self-assured, and can be like a 'rock' to me, in a sense that they can be relied on.

I tend to be turned off by those who are too flashy or insincere,or those who play social games too much.

Chiron I can see in that most of my partners have that 'maverick' quality, and were unconventional in one sense or another.

I think 7th can also be about our general mode of relating on a one to one basis. What qualities we seem to project or share with a partner, and what we expect or need to have reflected back to us in a one to one type of interaction. I know I like to come across as being down to earth, no frills and drama, straight forward and rather fixed in my one to one interactions. although this does not reflect my true self that closely (mostly fire, with this being my only earth placement).

Blue moon with venus smack bang sitting on your Dsc, it would be dignified by placement and sign(is it in Taurus?), making it a strong player in your chart. Being on Dsc I would imagine you'd have a very congenial and pleasing manner of relating to others, perhaps your interactions are rather Venusian in their nature - charming and warm, leaving people disarmed and feeling amiable towards you. Merc here perhaps indicates that your mode of communication and what you often spend your mental energy on centers around other people, and relation to others, less as groups, but more as individuals (in that amicable and charming manner)The sun indicates that relating and engaging yourself with other beings/people and carrying on all types of exchanges(mercury=intellectual, venus=romantic,entertainment-related,
saturn = teaching, making plans, organizing, sun= being yourself and learning about yourself most easily through your interactions with others) is central and very
integral to who you are.

In other words, yes I agree with you Blue moon, the 7th is not just about romantic partners, but about relating in general to individuals outside of self. After all, no man is an island

hi blue moon,

about my 7th ~

sign-aquarius
ruler-uranus in the 5th, sagittarius
planets h7-mercury (conj dsc)
aspects-mercury sextiles uranus,squares jupiter

all right to really fess up to it i need the verbal gymnastics in order to feel like i can connect with someone. if you're trying to approach me being all about emotion we're not going to mesh. this doesn't relate well to my water sun, but it is what it is. if you're trying to get too close and want to know xyz personal things about me asap, i'm headed in the opposite direction, fast. believe me i hate to admit this!

i attract the most jumpy, loquacious, nervy men on the planet, over and over-this yr i've finally realized that if i see one he will make a beeline for me and there's nothing i can do about it.

thing is i thrive on this energy, and hate to admit it, but will run my mouth non-stop if there's a silent moment with someone who is not of the same type. i need that verbal give and take, the outrageous statements (uranus/jupiter) in order to feel comfortable moving to the next level (getting my heart involved, that is).

i'm not comfortable at all if the conversation is dead and i flit around like a butterfly to engage whomever it doesn't matter as long as my mental energy is being utilized, and i'll talk to anyone about anything whatever my mind is attuned to, doesn't matter who they are (this bothers me somewhat but the mental energy takes over and its hard to control).

needing a sounding board for whatever i do is also very important, needing another's opinion, doesnt matter if i agree or not i still like to know what other people think, honestly i'm quite obsessed with what is going through other people's minds which is part of the reason i need to talk to so many of them, will walk right up unabashed and ask them the most seemingly odd question but it's not really like i can help it, have now learned that seemingly inappropraite conversation is sagittarius so that makes sense.

used to have the biggest problem with going along with whatever anyone said and agreeing with their p.o.v. until i started utilizing my aqua merc energy and realized i'm better doing a ton of research on whatever subject it is before i make up my mind, and then it's set in stone. never said i don't attract stubborn

i also really think planets conj the dsc affect appearance, i have a lot of virgo/gemini physical traits [from mercury opp asc 2 deg] -and this explains why i walk faster than anyone i know.

how embarrassing i cant shut up even typing this

!!! i can't imagine what 4 planets in the 7th is like; merc alone has taken yrs to get my head around

I just want to say that I've been feeling sooo bummed out about my 7th house this week.

I wish I had, like, Jupiter conjunct Eros conjunct Psyche all in Libra in there or something! And that my 7th house was all in cahoots with my Leo Sun to make me happy in love.

I read all of that, Lonake. I can connect with it ~

It is taking me a long time wrapping my head around 4 planets in the 7th. As a stroppy teenage feminist I was quite annoyed not to have more 9th or 11th house action.
Thinking about those houses and your post ~

I have a Sag/Aqua influence with Jupiter/Neptune in Sag in 1st and Aqua Mars in 3rd. Mars is Square Mercury! The older I get the more I feel disinclined to waste time by not getting to the point and saying what I mean. It shakes things up but as much as it may cause me problems sometimes it is surprising how much people appreciate it, particularly if if it a positive comment. It just shocks them that someone would bother.

My best romantic relationships have involved Sun Trine Mercury or Mercury Trine Mercury. My husband's Mercury is 1* Trine to mine, asking his opinion is the one thing I would miss about him if he wasn't around. I like to hear his take on things, he has a sound and practical mind (Capricorn Mercury) and is quietly perceptive (Moon in 8th).

Redstar ~ I like to think I am the possessor of charm and wit, but Mars and the North Node make a Square to add a little acid to proceedings.

I am 100% with you on insincere, it is top of my list for things that I can't abide in others.

DSC in Sag, Jupiter in Aries in 11th
Saturn/Uranus conjunct DSC in Sag
Neptune in Capricorn in 7th

...and I have continuity with Venus squaring Saturn/Uranus in Pisces so.

Basically I never know what I want. I go back and forth between Saturn and Uranus and then Neptune just confuses matters even more.

Everything's so ultimately abstract in astrology.

I have Mercury, Venus, and Neptune in Sag in the 7th.

In some way, I want people to know me for all of these things. My mind (Mercury), my talent/art (Venus), and my Vision/Creativity (Neptune).

I've read about how we're supposed to project these things onto other people, but I'm not really convinced. I do bounce ideas off people, but that doesn't mean I don't possess my own mind (Mercury is supposed to be in a favorable position in the 7th). I do like artistic folk, but I am artistic myself. I do like mystical people to an extent, and to the same extent I am one. So...I don't know.

I have my moon in Aquarius conjunct my descendant (although, my moon is in the 6th house, just about!).....

I was engaged to be married over two years ago now and I'm still with the guy (I do love him a lot) but we still haven't set the date yet. I know that this is me stalling and I'm not sure why. I think I'm not ready yet and I guess I'll know when the right moment is for me. Maybe I'm not cut out for it? Only time will tell!!!

As for rejection, well I'm in equal parts terrified of it (moon conjunct) and philosophical about it (Aquarius DC). Put it this way, I'm always ready to run for it if I know I might be for the chop - I've always got one foot already out the door. It's often flight rather than fight with me, although I do have Taurus planets so I can sustain things if I try.....

I'm never sure what to make of my 7th. It's a mixed bag with Libra on the descendant, conjunct Uranus (in 6th) as well as Jupiter in Scorpio.

PeaceAngel, would that be something like wanting peace and freedom in relationships/interactions with others with periods of deep relating? jupiter in scorp thrives on the what and why of everything, they love it. an Air/Water mix.

Pisces Descendant - want to find unity and spiritual connection with others that are idealistic, compassionate, mystical

no planets in 7th house

both 7th house rulers Jupiter and Neptune in Sagittarius in 3rd house - seek connection with broadminded people, also involve other cultures...interracial relationship

conjunct Imum Coeli in Sagittarius - connection to my multiracial heritage, multicultural family

oppose retrograde Saturn in Gemini in 9th - also seek connection with people that are grounded in their beliefs,thinking...be critical thinkers that don't easily believe in things

7th house rulers square Moon - interact with others that are emotional, nurturing, sensitive

also if you add centaurs

My Chariklo is in 23'53 Pisces Retrograde in 7th
trine my Venus in 21'47 Scorpio in 3rd

Chariklo: (Female) Consort to Athena and healing assistant to Vesta in the temples. Orbital Period: 63.05 yr.

Positive - boundary sensitive, wise, just, non-assumptive especially regarding personal relationship, interrogative about touchy or delicate issues

Negative - judgmental, feeling of being victimized at a glance, assumptive, intolerant, biased by gender archetypes

Mundane - swimming in the nude, eyesight, hearing, flirting, sexual harassment, motivation oriented

Ceremonial - a see no evil, hear no evil scenario, energetic healing, work to clear intent and motive
http://www.philipsedgwick.com/

Chariklo is the largest of the centaurs, and so even larger than Chiron.

My 7th is empty, Gemini on the cusp.

I'm extremely relationship oriented, though, which I wouldn't guess from that information. Also, I really like to kind of melt with my partner, kind of a "fade into you" thing, which also doesn't seem to be supported by this Gemini ruled house, my Sag sun/rising, or my Aqua Venus. Libra moon seems to be the only indication.

My BFF is a Gemini and we're kind of kindred souls in a way. He's a gay male, so that doesn't exactly play out in any sort of romantic sense.

I've never dated a Gemini, or anyone with strong Gemini placements.

I do have to have a partner that I can gibby gab with all day and all night though. Does that count?

I'm not quite sure how this works out in my life, but I wish I knew.

Libra Moon alone can be an indicator for being relationship oriented

what's aspecting the Ascendant/Descendant axis?

what's aspecting Venus?

also where is your 7th house ruler placed and what aspects does it have? that's very important if the 7th house is empty just like my 7th house is.

Of course! I have Mercury in Capricorn in the first house. I never made that connection before.

My sun is conjunct Ascendent, so would oppose my descendent.

Venus squares Uranus. Moon and Pluto both in Libra, Pluto conj. midheaven.

Lonake,

yes, in a way I think I seek someone who mirrors me. Relationships which also includes friendships are THE way to get to know and understand myself better.

It`s almost like saying: Tell me (Mercury) who and how I am (Sun in 1st house) and it better be positive (Sagittarius).
