DWs in synastry increase the level of mutual engagement in the relationship/mutual energy put into the relationship. Moon/Mars is a complicated one...it can make both people oversensitive emotionally to the other's actions. In the conjunction, the Moon person is often overwhelmed or hurt, or just feels a little vulnerable, from the Mars person's aggressiveness and energy. If the orbs are similar, you (as a couple) will feel the conjunction more powerfully than the trine, so check the sign of the conjunction--and the houses it touches in each chart--to see how this dynamic will play yout.
Natally, Moon-Mars people are often hypersensitive to rejection and will lash out at times of emotional frustration...Moon-Mars synastry can have a bit of that flavor too. With the DW, because both people feel both energies, this relationship can help both people learn to become more sensitive to each other's emotional needs and channel energies in a compassionate, empathetic direction.
With the conjunction--Mars can feel intense energy toward the Moon person, while Moon is very affected emotionally by Mars's actions
Opposition or square--this couple can sometimes do battle; Mars overwhelms the Moon and feels rejected by him/her, Moon feels dominated/hurt by Mars (not always the case, but this can happen with this energy)
Trine--Mars feels his/her actions are emotionally understood by Moon, Moon feels a liking/sympathy for Mars (sextile is like trine, but has to be activated by both parties making an effort to connect with each other, while the trine happens "naturally")
To understand the DW, you need to look at what's going on with the Moon and Mars in each natal chart.
In my opinion (not universal), Moon/Mars can always be frustrating, even the "easy" aspects--rattling or overwhelming for Moon, emotionally wounding for Mars
