YOU SAID:

heck...even now...I put very little emphasis on tropical sunsigns any way. I am very skeptical of their use for people born in the Southern Hemisphere. I don't say that it's a wrong either.

If you wouldn't mind, could you explain about the southern hemisphere comment.

The tropical zodiac is a northern hemisphere season based zodiac. It doesn't account for people born in the southern hemisphere which has the seasons switched around (i.e. when it's Spring in northern hemisphere, it's Fall in southern hemisphere).

That's why I don't use the tropical zodiac for people born in southern hemisphere.

I don't use the sidereal zodiac either because it's not completely aligned with the constellations. The sidereal zodiac consisting of 12 signs of equal span isn't the same as the 13 constellation zodiac which includes Ophiuchus,Virgo as the largest, and Scorpius as the smallest.(so small that it can make people wonder why Scorpius was given so much credit in the sky compared to Ophiuchus that is much larger and takes up more sky than Scorpius)

I tend to point that out when some sidereal astrologers get preachy and say that the sidereal zodiac is the true constellations and that the tropical zodiac is the false one. I have seen these arguments before used by these types of astrologers. I have dealt with those types before in astrology chatrooms.

I'd prefer using the constellation zodiac.

as a tropical zodiac astrologer, I wonder about an actual blend of the tropical zodiac and the constellation zodiac would actually work.

like a person who has Sun in tropical Pisces, but in the constellation of Aquarius might be about being an emotionally sensitive but also be a humanitarian.

of a person with Moon in tropical Virgo, but in the constellation of Leo could be a critical, perfectionist, into service, and health but also have the need for self expression, have the instinct to be a leader, and be noble.

that's just my view. I know that others will disagree, and that's fine. There is a lot of diversity in Astrology, and so there are going to be different views of how Astrology works.

To add for clarity: Western zodiac system is based on the idea that Aries represents Spring. However, it is not spring time in the southern hemisphere in March.

Thanks for replying, Glaucus and Amowls.

If I understand this correctly: by dates I was born when the Sun was in Taurus, but the sun could have been in a different constellation in the sky. Possibly Aries or Gemini or could it be the opposite. It’s different constellations in the sky in the south, isn’t it.

Also, because the seasons are opposite in the southern hemisphere I was not born in spring, but autumn so does that make me a Scorpio?? haha, that would be weird. And if not Scorpio what?

Or do I just flip my horoscope? This is really strange.

Thanks. I’m off to try and do some research.

if you were born with Sun in tropical Taurus, your Sun is probably in the constellation of Aries....depending on the day that you were born.

the reason why I say that is

for example.....not all tropical Scorpio sunsigns have Libra constellation sunsigns because the constellation zodiac consists of 13 unequal zodiac signs. That's why there are tropical Scorpio sunsigns that have Virgo constellation sunsigns like me.

so it really depends on what day you were born. If you born in the late degrees of tropical Taurus, then you are more likely to have Taurus constellation sun.

one of the links that I gave you has constellation sunsign tables.

Glaucus, I did look at the links you gave me, and as I was born in early May, I fell between the Aries dates.
thanks for your help.

btw, I followed the link to where the sun is now, and it is still in gemini.

MVM: will you have to change your name now?lol

Glaucus

I had been taken your astrological insight, and insight in other respects for granted for too long.

It was beyond tragedy for our reconciliation string to end up being ganged up.

By the way, Glaucus- you were absolutely right about urging people not to enable some character who thought itself was the supreme divine yin. That entity was exactly showing its true colors by intentionally hurting you. As a Sun Scorpio with Pisces Moon, Glaucus- I'm positive that you recall the incident and are perfectly aware of what I am talking about.

At last I realized that I had been wrong about you all along, and you were right. You still are. I think you just would like to take yourself and your own astrological aspects and placements as an example in various cases. You are a knowledgeable astrologer, plus an impartial, neutral, emotionally detached one with much professionalism, unlike some other self-proclaimed professional astrologer who just blew her/his own work by being extremely partial in one of her/his interpretations.

Again, Glaucus- you are a lunar Piscean with Sun in Scorpio, therefore I can imagine how sensitive, I mean- intuitive, penetrative, visionary you are. I used to be one of the individuals who disrespected you. Now I find it intolerable cruelty to see you being sabotaged.

I realize that this is off-the-topic, but I'd just like to say that I'm really glad to see you posting again on astrology. Personally, I truly believe that Moon in Pisces with Sun in Scorpio is one of the most ideal luminary combinations out there- not to say that your combination is trouble-free- it isn't. However, this luminary combination grants you much intuitive, occultistic, insightful gift; and with Virgo rising, among many other factors, you not only possess sound intuition, you also have a good analytical faculty. Glaucus, you are way beyond those self-proclaimed highest divine entities and those who don't know any better.

[Randall, Lalalinda, any of the rest of the mods- please be vigilant and should abuse occurred again, please be kind enough to take proper action immediately.]

Again, HUGS to you, Glaucus

You've been through, and you are still going through a lot. But I believe you will transcend onto the next level and be even more able to help, and to heal, others and yourself. Kudos to you, Glaucus!

Me too!! STILL a Leo!

MVM, are you a draconic Leo? Or with Angel in Leo? You're awfully good with Leos. A Leo whisperer! (Am I remembering correctly that you have your Sun in the 5th though? That would also explain it. One of my close friends is a 5th house solar stellium Virgo and the Leos love her...as far as we are concerned she is one of us, albeit a bit neater and more delicate.)
