Over the weekend I watched 'Walk the Line' and after I read up a bit on Johnny Cash. It didn't surprise me he was a Pisces. Nor, when I just ran up his chart, that he has 12th house action. "I tried to imagine how you felt" he said when introducing his song about San Quentin. He said that if there was criticisim about performing to prisoners it wasn't from true Christians - at least that's what he said in the film!
quote:
Cash first took interest in Folsom State Prison while serving in the U.S. Air Force Security Service. In 1953, his unit watched Crane Wilbur's film Inside the Walls of Folsom Prison. The movie inspired Cash to write a song that reflected his perception of prison life. The result was "Folsom Prison Blues", Cash's second single on Sun Records. After its release, the song became popular among inmates, who would sometimes write to Cash, requesting him to perform at their prisons. Cash first answered one of the letters by performing at Huntsville State Prison in 1957. Satisfied by the favorable reception of the concert, he performed at several other prisons, including Folsom in 1966.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Cash The 8th house Moon is very intuitive with an instinctive understanding of others.
quote: He credited June Carter Cash, whom he married in 1968, with helping him stay off drugs, though he had several relapses over the years and was treated at the Betty Ford Center in California in 1984.
He has Venus Square Pluto - he couldn't live long without his wife. The afflicted Neptune afflicted to the Sun and Mars couldn't speak more clearly of the drink and the drugs but there is powerful side that is more positive - he connected to people with his music and still does now he is on the other side. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,97140,00.html I wondered about his brother, there he is, ruled by the 3rd, tucked in tight between Mars and the Sun in Pisces in the 12th. Opposite Neptune. quote:
Cash was very close to his older brother, Jack, who in 1944 was pulled into a whirling table saw in the mill where he worked, and cut almost in two. He suffered for over a week before he died. Cash often spoke of the horrible guilt he felt over this incident. According to Cash: The Autobiography, his father was away that morning, but he and his mother, and Jack himself, all had premonitions or a sense of foreboding about that day, causing his mother to urge Jack to skip work and go fishing with his brother. Jack insisted on working, as the family needed the money. On his deathbed, Jack said he had visions of heaven and angels. Decades later, Cash spoke of looking forward to meeting his brother in heaven. He wrote that he had seen his brother many times in his dreams, and that Jack always looked two years older than whatever age Cash himself was at that moment

I share his birthday and I've always wondered what it would be like to have met him in person. My Venus conjuncts his Saturn exact degree and my Asc. conjuncts his neptune exact. Plus we have many other conjunctions. My twelfth house is empty though. My Taurus moon opposes his, but it conjuncts his Chiron within 1 degree. His music was his ministry.IP: Logged |

I turned down an offer of free tickets to see Johnny Cash in 1995 with my ex's dad. Gutted. I didn't have a clue who he was back then.IP: Logged | |
