my exgf broke up with me and my mom had her leg amputated during that transitbut transiting Saturn in 12th was making aspects to my chart at my time like conjuncting my Venus/Midheaven midpoint and squaring my Neptune which is the modern ruler of my 7th house. Transiting Saturn was also opposing my Moon in Pisces in 6th , square my Jupiter and Neptune in Sagittarius in 3rd, and square my retrograde Saturn in Gemini in 9th. It was aspecting my t-square for a grand cross as well as square my Midheaven in Gemini. Transiting retrograde Pluto was squaring my Pluto in Libra in 1st. When I got dumped, it was exactly on my Venus/Node midpoint which squares my Pluto. I believe that it really depends on how transiting Saturn is aspecting as well as as other transits going on. Also solar arcs, secondary progressions, solar returns, lunar returns can also factor into what goes on.
If a person has transiting Saturn trining Sun, sextile Venus , they might be fine with the transit.

I have Saturn trine Venus in my chart - a really terrible relationship fell apart for me during that time. So I have to say it was for the best. But still, damn it hurt. IP: Logged |

oh yes depresssion does occur with this transit. even though my friend is marrying, he feels depressed. he alienated a lot of his friends from his past too. he shut some people out. his depression and mental issues were so bad, i advised him to marry after transiting saturn leaves his 12th house, maybe it will cause him to look within in a deeper level. but he is a gemini, i am sure he thought about this decision throuhg and through ;-).IP: Logged |

I agree that crappy transits might be great for others. I had a wonderful Saturn Return. One of the most amazing, empowering times of my life. BUT. Saturn did not make any harsh aspects with my chart ruler (Venus), or Mars (which is also in my 1st house and ruler of my Mars). So I think it depends on the person and their chart entirely. If it's moving through the 12th then it's probably doing something with the other planets as well in order to cause some kind of depression. Saturn by himself is fine. It's when he snags onto something else in a hard aspect that you get that burdensome feeling of 'weight'. I've got Saturn opposing my 12th house right now, and it's causing me some forms of restriction... almost like I can't daydream the way I like anymore. It's annoying My moon's already in the 12th and it's hard enough tapping into it...with Saturn's presence, it's as though he's a disapproving parent that's not allowing me to even dream. It's very effing violating, like being spied on. All I can suggest with this aspect is plenty of physical rest, and going easy on oneself. Sit back and let Saturn do his job...believe it or not, Saturn knows what it's doing. At least, that's what I need to believe, otherwise I'd put an old-school Egyptian curse on this %$ planet!!! i had it and now saturn is on my asc.when it was passing the 12th it was very hard to me,it rules my IC. i had to take out my fears and skeletons out of the closed and face them all together, and i alienated myself too...i can say that i only count with 2 friends in my life now. the advantage is that it made me stronger,i revaluated myself and now i am aware how strong i am.and that there is not all that to worry about.we all have ouw own flaws but we are our own worst enemies if we think about it. in the past i was the 1st to judge myself and think that i wasnt good enought...things like that. now im more outspoken, ive been finding my own dreams and not that afraid to speak my truth. in my natal saturn sextiles my sun and venus and neptune.semisextile my merc/jupiter. I just hope that my 1st saturn return witll bring me good things too....at that time tr pluto hits my ic and tr uranus hits my DSC so...dawm i better have some good saturn conections! IP: Logged |

When Saturn hits 7* Libra, it will have officially entered the 12th house. And I'll be having my Saturn Return in a couple of years. I wonder how it'll go for me. On top of this, Pluto is currently approaching a conjunction to my Moon, and opposition to my Mars. I don't think I can imagine being even more depressed than I had been. It seems to me like I've struggled with depression for the better part of my life (Capricorn Moon), please, I'd like some lightheartedness for a change...

I used to think my 12th house was empty until I found out that 2 of Pluto's fellow transneptunian dwarf planets, Haumea and Makemake are in my 12th. I felt like I could relate to Pluto in 12th house. Now I know why. I have the astronomers to thank for that in regards to their discoveries helping me fill in the blanks and answer questions that mainstream Astrology didn't have answers to. Transiting Saturn in 12th isn't necessarily a bad thing. It really depends on aspects. I already saw posts that talked about positive experiences during Saturn in 12th. Transiting Saturn in 12th can be good for spiritual, compassionate, charitable endeavors. It can be used for volunteer work. It can be a time for going within and being more in touch with your soul. It can be good for completing projects. In Vedic Astrology, the 12th house was associated with loss, suffering. It was also connected to liberation, enlightenment. Loss and suffering can lead you to be more serious about spiritual endeavors including being on a path of liberation and enlightenment. Definitely loss and suffering can lead to compassion for others who also experience loss and suffering. In Vedic Astrology, I have Ketu (South Lunar Node) in 12th.

I have this placement natally. There are so many things I'm in the dark about, and the people in my life could tell me about these things, ease my saturn unknown pain quite a lot, but they don't want to. IP: Logged |

saturn transitted my 12th in the middle of YEARS of uranus and neptune conj crawling thru it. i was unemployed for 6 months, my marriage ended and my ex and his girlfriend basically undermined my parenting at every opportunity...when it was over i looked around and i still had my gorgeous thriving daughter, my home and a JOB (jobs are not part of my day-to-day normality lol though i have ALWAYS worked apart from that 6 mos!). i experienced a stereotypical retreat from the "frontlines" with saturn in the first, regrouped and got my ducks in a row. looking back, it was a GREAT time. in the middle of it, it was a rollercoaster riding through heaven AND hell... I'm experiencing this now and it's my Saturn return so I also have it natally. Pluto is squaring it on and off which is really helpful!... NOT...Things will only get better though.... once it aspects my ascendant then it will conjunct my sun/pluto conjunction....wonderful!Yes I'm feeling quite depressed, but not suppressed which is a different thing altogther... I think it's a time to recharge your batteries and assess your life direction. That's why it's quite depressive... You aren't doing so much but it'a all in incubation. MVM... good to know the groove comes back!! Diandra your post was very helpful to me Raymond " It can be good for completing projects."..... Yes I'm finding this is true. IP: Logged |

The aspects make a difference, I vaguely remember saturn h12..Seemed positive at first, a nice lil cocoon, I felt like I was getting to know what's really inside, I felt closed off but it wasnt negative, and I was creative for a time and pretty in tune, t.Saturn was making a grand trine with my n.Sun and Jupiter. And then it was horribly overwhelming as it squared my Mars/Saturn/Pluto..then I wanted to get out no matter what it took, it became a dungeon really.Upon entering H1 I felt renewed purpose, worked my stuff off, it was tough and I felt really alone but I was happy to be back in control putting my time to good use. And as it entered H2 i looked back and thought I couldnt believe everything I did while it was in H1, it gave me a big pat on the back. But then worries turned to resources and self worth problems. Now in the 3rd house, and I badly see how I sold myself short, etc. while in H2...apparently I can't see what Saturn is really doing until after the fact. Right now, h3, it feels like no matter how I say anything no one is listening, I could be right there shouting and would be completely ignored, I don't like it, it's literally nothing I say gets through to anyone, feels liked crossed wires, I'm speaking the wrong language. I am sorry, Mama Mia I have Saturn in 12th in my natal chart. It is about to return... next year sometime.
I console myself this way... 1. Saturn in Libra is dignified, therefore comfortable there. 2. Saturn in 12th is "hidden" and sub-conscious. Meaning: I won't feel any of dear ol' Saturn while in 12th! Plan B: 'Try and get on some Prozac or something. Maybe that's what the 12th house fog indicates... Or go natural with some holy herb or shrooms to calm me down. but the bottom line is that I am so over worrying about my Saturn return in 12th. OVER IT! Besides, I've had it all my life, so I can't imagine it getting worse. Oh, I lie. I can imagine it getting worse. With Pluto also in my 12th, you can imagine how dark the recesses of my mind can be.
