Just wanted to say thank you for the kind words on the Anonymous thread . I think your response to that particular thread was lovely, really thoughtful and demonstrated what LL is all about.

I have completely ignored it cos it was too much to read to begin with and only clicked on it just now and I must say, what I saw I did not like. At all. It gave me a horrible feeling and kudos to Diana for stating that it was a bad idea, plain and simple.

Certain people's comments were obnoxious, immature and pretty hurtful and could have quickly escalated and erupted with hate and resentment. Thank God the moderators took action and closed this nasty thread straight away.

Everybody here has a difference of opinion but the great thing about that is that it elevates one to a new level of understanding whereas crap like that just diversifies and turns people against each other. In the couple of years that I have spent on the forum i have never seen something so distasteful and its a joke to propogate it as "speaking and expressing the truth". That is not an excuse or license to hate on people or rudely say in a hurtful way what you THINK is true about another person. Grow up. High school is over.

Newsflash..the truth is SUBJECTIVE to every individual which means WE ALL have DIFFERENT (personal) truths. We all have our own moral codes and personal ethics. And the fantastic thing about here is that you can share that and be vulnerable without being in danger of being critisised or humiliated.

And don't get me wrong, there are fights and arguments that can go on forever but it doesn't affect or sour the friendly relationship/friendship that is shared by everyone here. But to start a thread that invites people to say potentially very hurtful things is inconsiderate and stupid.

Duke, please don't ever post crap like that again. Seriously. I got pretty angry reading it and this is my opinion. And if you have anything so say, you can say it straight to me instead of hiding behind "anonymous". I'm a big girl and respect people who are not scared to say what they think. I think i speak for most people when i say that was not appreciated. In any way, shape or form.

I've been gone for a while and I missed a lot of stuff at lindaland. IF it isn't too horrible for you to talk about, what happened in the Anonymous thread (just a very brief summary)?

It was a post inviting people to write the things that they secretly think of other people here, the things that annoy them about other people or whatever as a personal message to them, under a fake name if they wanted to.

Most people were opposed to it. It could have gotten pretty mean but thank God people here are smarter than that and it was closed by a quick-thinking moderator.

Chesire Kat turned it into a positive by saying something nice about everybody which was really cool. I couldn't reply as the thread had closed so i thought i would start my own to reply to CK and couldn't help but say something. I wasn't having a go at anybody, just wanted to have my say in a non-offensive manner.

As for the closed thread I didn't know it was going to harbor any ill intentions thats why I was for it, I thought Duke wanted people to just work out their differences online in a civilized manner but I don't hold grudges online or in real life..I wasted too much energy holding one against my mom that I am finally working on it contructively with what I feel like are the right people.

I know the internet is not to be taken seriously and I don't but I have met people who do and I always think of them when I say something awful because I am reminded that there are people with feelings behind these computer screens rather they take it seriously or not, I should still be respectful as I try to be in everyday life.

Like the one about bagging out someone's signature and having a bit of a rave..like, cooooome on. Stupid. Or a comment Sanch made about being able to say if "blah blah has aids can i say it under this fake name"..

Well, there was a HUGE debate/argument that got pretty heated and personal about that particular subject in response to someone who had gone through an STD scare, it was pretty full on and i DO NOT want to reopen that discussion again, here or even hear a reference of it..
I thought it was pretty distasteful to joke about stuff like that cos there are some ppl who do go through it and feel like this is an open space where they are able to share personal things like that. If we're making stupid, obnoxious jokes about stuff like that then that definitely takes away the substance and quality of LL and people just wouldn't want to open up about things that are joked about but they're actually going through.

Sorry, it's probably my Libra moon wanting to keep the peace and my overprotective Cancer sun, mars and mercury.

Lol do not apologize about the blunt truth or feel harsh, my best friend and also childhood friend is an Aries Sun/Aquarian Moon/Gemini Rising she will tell me like it is in a quick fiery sec, she seriously is the pepper to my salt.

I'm burn out cos i work hard and work my arse off to achieve something in life and to have a higher understanding of the world and my place in it.

If i want to pissfart around, then I'll go on facebook or msn and joke around with my mates there, cos they get my twisted and warped sense of humour. I just dont showcase it on here cos well, I'd probably get kicked off and I like the positive vibe here very much and the connections and budding friendship i have made here. Simple. Nothing to do with uptight, more social etiquette.
