What is the general consensus on the meaning of having Part of Fortune in the 8th house?I've read both positive and negative insights on the placement ... but I personally feel its particularly positive. 22 Degrees Taurus is also an excellent Sabian Symbol. Chiron and Part of fortune are a degree apart in this house. The House Cusp is 29 Degrees Aires IP: Logged |

I am actually going to have that in my next Solar Returnfrom JOURNEYS YEARLY SOLAR RETURN REPORT at Cafe Astrology site: Return Part of Fortune in the Return 8th House The Part of Fortune in the Return 8th House indicates success in matters related to loans, taxes, legacies, and joint finances. Sexual opportunities are likely to abound. Benefits come through in-depth study and investigation. This is an excellent year for activities that lead to personal transformation and spiritual regeneration. Raymond ------------------ No..I am not a Virgo. 22 taurus is actually a negative fixed star. It could mean his "fortune" results in something negative. In the 8th, on that degree, it could mean death or it could mean profiting off the death of others. IP: Logged |

interesting.it could mean possibly a fortune relative to someone dieing - and leaving an inheritence. i dont pay too much attn to fixed stars ... i find them very fatalistic and barbaric in a sense ... not to shoot down your commentary ...i do appreciate it very much. some of the biggest celebrities in the world have major planets on very negative fixed stars ... i dont find it to be too accurate at times. i pay more attn to the sabian symbols ... and 22 taurus is a very positive symbol IP: Logged |

I don't blame you. I don't put much emphasis on fixed stars either.Bernadette Brady uses only star parans. She doesn't believe in projecting stars onto the ecliptic. She believes that its taking away from the stars mythical symbolism. She compares it to astro-racism, making the stars conform to the Sun's path The Sun is a star like the other stars are. The method that Astrologers is different from the method that Ptolemy used.
Ptolemy measured stars based on the poles of the ecliptic. Astrologers measure stars based on the poles of the equator. The measurements that Ptolemy made were not meant to be used in Astrology. Those measurements were in his Astronomy book and not his Astrology book. I have Bernadette Brady's books and her Starlight program.

astro.com can do thatif Chiron aspects the 4th house cusp which is the IC, then it means that it aspects the MC too. Raymond

well, I find the fixed stars very accurate. Most people just don't know how to interpret them. For me, the sabians are not accurate at all, but everyone has different preferences and it's how you interpret them, not what their definitions are --just like not all aspects are cut and dry -- it's really the skill of the person reading and what tools they need to use to get to the right answer. For me, FS are a big part of that. IP: Logged |
