Do you remember your experiences with this? Care to share? I'm thinking they have something to do with really unpleasant circumstances that force us to give in to our natal North Node. (to clarify- it's when transit NN conjuncts your SN- I'm noticing in solar returns when this happens the whole year is characterized by that)

This happened to me when I was 9 years old. I was forced to leave a school where I was very happy and had lots of friends and happy relationships because the administration changed and it was a private school, so my scholarship ended up being taken away. Initially I ended up at a catholic school and then another school. It was actually probably one of the roughest times in my life. I was teased a lot and picked on mercilessly. I guess I was kind of an oddball- really creative, kind of weird taste- and I got noticed for it and picked on a lot. Even by friends and their parents who would try to "make me over"! and I really had to decide whether or not I would swallow my individualism for the sake of making friends and pleasing others. Sounds intense for a 9 year old I know but I remember it quite vividly, it really was a formative experience! I ended up just kind of retreating into my imagination and making things- becoming more creative and just letting people pick on me but not really responding to it. My NN is in Aries in the 12th conjunct my Aries ASC, go figure. And that year my SR NN was in the 12th conjunct my natal SN. That was certainly one of the most formative experiences for me in becoming more Arian and learning to let things go, sacrifice confrontation, but also maintain my own sense of myself and personal integrity even if that means isolating myself and entering a world of imagination and not pleasing others.
