In my natal chart, I have Pluto in the 5th opposing my 11th house. I've noticed that Pluto is very intense regardless of its natal placement. I am very passionate about my hobbies and things I do for fun (5th) but I'm a bit agoraphobic at times. Do you think this is because of Pluto's opposition to the 11th for me? Does anyone else have this placement? Has anyone else noticed the relationship between the polar houses in regard to your placement of Pluto? Share IP: Logged |

Hi, for agoraphobia, look for malefics in the 12th (Saturn especially). It could also be a benefic planet receiving a bad aspect from a malefic. Do you have anything there? IP: Logged |

I'm not sure about the dignities. What do you think? IP: Logged |

quote: Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder defined as a morbid fear of wide open spaces, crowds, or uncontrolled social conditions.
I have Pluto in the 5th in Scorpio and on SN.. I love wide open spaces. No problems there. I like crowds. I feel very stealth in a crowd and I can watch people which my Piscean side is into. Uncontrolled social situations: Actually I am the exact opposite. I have an anxiety to *controlled* social situations. I like everything uncontrolled. But when I am in a very controlled situation like say a dinner that is very formal where I have to impress certain people - I become extra anxious. IP: Logged |

I thought pluto in various houses had to do more with the mind. Mine is in the 9th house and I like debates and being critical, which I thought was a signature of the 9th house, especially for pluto. In other words, questioning things. So if my Aries Moon is in the 3rd house, would I say it is opposite my pluto in house 9?Likewise, True node in 4th house is opposite my mercury (10th house cap)? House 3/9 = opp. 4/10 = opp, etc. is my way of thinking. IP: Logged |

Carl, I don't think the opposition counts unless it's in actual opposition aspect (180° ±10°orb) but I've never thought about it that way. I wonder if dignity could allow a planet in an opposing house to color its polarity without making an aspect. You've got me thinking now. Does anyone have any thoughts/opinions/facts to support or discount this theory?IP: Logged |

Agoraphobia seem to me more h3 related. Since all you have to do is step outside and interact/go out, and the neighborhood is the 3rd house. Your h3 is empty Ruled by Leo Sun is in the 10th in pisces Afflicted by mars/uranus in the 6th......so maybe there's a fear of something sudden happening to you of which you have no control, or maybe you fear that you would be the one to lose control. It could also be based on something that happened in the past. Mars conj Uranus, and in a fire sign, is anger that explodes with no warning, you wouldn't have even thought the person was upset. So this is either you or how you meet anger in the world. Or maybe even the workplace. It's in the 6th so it could also indicate sudden flares in terms of health, something you thought was gone then all of a sudden it comes back with a vengeance and you're left feeling shocked or surprised. Lots of possible interps. Your Mars rules the 11th of social groups like you say, and then Uranus rules the 9th of foreigners and travel, etc. so there are wide spaces there too. IP: Logged |

What's so odd is that I work in communications and I love to help people communicate. I have no problem when I'm wearing my work mask. It's at home that I have issues. Maybe it's based on some insecurity. IP: Logged |

But you're not talking about communications you're talking about agoraphobia. Are you even diagnosed with it?IP: Logged |

That's something different. I guess you're owning your Mars/Uranus sq the Sun, that's it.IP: Logged |

curbo - quote: I just hate people unless it's a one on one situation.
Other than the aspects Lonake mentioned -- I think it's more than coincidental that you are the third person with strong Aries influence to utter the words: "I hate people" to me lol
Aries is not a particularly sociable sign. I have an Aries Sun - (being the opposite of Libra we're not that into socialising)... I don't love socialising by any means.. But I don't dislike it either. Basically - I focus on the people I do like and I ignore everyone and everything I don't like. I know crowds can be draining and tiring though - I think I've learnt to block it out (I wasn't always like this).. Now I almost feel like I'm alone on a beach - when in a crowd... because I don't even feel like I am there. It's like I'm just watching everyone from afar lol Strange feeling.. I also study people though - It's kind of like I morph into a scenario where I am watching these people on film in a cinema.. and I'm trying to lip read and work out what everyone is saying and how they feel at the time or what they are thinking (based on body language..) -- I actually feel like I find out so much about people in these situations.. because I watch and listen a *lot*. I partially do it for entertainment, but also because I am genuinely interested in everyone's story. IP: Logged |
