OK This is for you if you have it (!)
I guess Asc sign matters here, the person I'm thinking of is Scorpio rising, and their Mars is not strong, but it is sq to their Asc and it comes through as a v.combative nature, on TOP of the Scorp Asc, lmao.

So what, are you like this? And if so could you please enlighten what you think this is going to get for you? Were you made to feel that you had to fight to have your own say while growing up? etc.

Alright, well I get accused of being defensive nearly every day , and I think it's because my thoughts and feelings aren't really separate. It's one thing when someone disagrees and I ask questions to understand why they believe what they do, and another when our beliefs conflict so they argue with me 'cause they don't like my beliefs. If they don't like my beliefs I take it as them not liking ME which if someone feels they're not liked of course you'd get defensive.

Growing up I was always the opposite of what my parents wanted me to be. I didn't go through an emo-rebellious stage where I snuck out and had boys in my room or anything but I'm more interested in metaphysical and creative things than routine. In fact, yesterday I casually and half-jokingly mentioned I wanted to go to a school for metaphysics and my mom was like "Gah Hanna! Why can't you just join a sorority, giggle, and get married and have babies? Why do you always have to be DIFFERENT?" Like, I might as well have been a preacher's son coming out of the closet. So yes, I did feel like I always had to defend "myself" and my interests growing up 'cause it was never accepted. Granted, they don't try to take it away from me but it's still frustrating not being able to talk about what I know when I've seen it proven right over and over again.

You too? I get it on an almost regular basis. I've noticed though that for whatever reasons, people tend to always assume I'm a pushover and that it's okay to disrespect me; then when I don't take it and react violently to it (not literally), they seem surprised and actually a bit annoyed that I won't just lie down and take it. I have asteroid activity that indicates I attract that sort of thing anyway, then when all my Mars squares kick in and react to it, people seem stunned.

I used to think people thought I was a pushover but have since come to realize there's something about me that tells people I'm not. They think I'm angry and have reached my limit when I'm simply annoyed so god help them if they were to actually really **** me off. My mom is constantly mocking the tone of my voice 'cause apparently it's very aggressive. Ugh, you'd think after 22 years she would just accept that's the way I talk and understand I'm not being rude but no. My Scorpio friend goes very quiet and starts to shrink if she feels I'm getting mad. I thought this aspect would protect me from letting manipulative people into my life but it hasn't, and I think actually this aspect can make someone look so hard for a "fight" that they miss what's really going on right in front of their face. Yes, no?

I also have Mars Conjunct Asc.

Admiral David Farragut

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Farragut

On August 5, 1864, Farragut won a great victory in the Battle of Mobile Bay. Mobile was then the Confederacy's last major port open on the Gulf of Mexico. The bay was heavily mined (tethered naval mines were known as torpedoes at the time). Farragut ordered his fleet to charge the bay. When the monitor USS Tecumseh struck a mine and sank, the others began to pull back.

Farragut could see the ships pulling back from his high perch, where he was lashed to the rigging of his flagship, the USS Hartford. "What's the trouble?", he shouted through a trumpet from the flagship to the USS Brooklyn. "Torpedoes!" was shouted back. "Damn the torpedoes!" said Farragut, "Four bells. Captain Drayton, go ahead! Jouett, full speed!" The bulk of the fleet succeeded in entering the bay. Farragut triumphed over the opposition of heavy batteries in Fort Morgan and Fort Gaines to defeat the squadron of Admiral Franklin Buchanan.

I personally have,

Virgo Mars
Virgo Asc
Both in house twelve.
Virgo is modified by mercury, mine is in scorpio, second house.

I have it on my desc and it squares with 1 degree. Also this mars opposites both sun and venus(which they conjunct each other but also conjunct with Mc ). So venus and sun is also square to asc, mod.

hannarama,
"If they don't like my beliefs I take it as them not liking ME which if someone feels they're not liked of course you'd get defensive."
---I'm understanding the 'me' part as relating to the Asc since sometimes it does feel like that is all we are since we embody it so strongly, then Mars being set off as a result. Thanks for sharing.
