Since we are talking about soulmates/ twin flames.. I was wondering if neptune makes you feel that higher love?

Neptune is a higher octane of venus... So does Neptune really make you feel love, way more than venus ever could??

If so would it be neptune or the planet person or both?

I was thinking this would have to be moon/neptune and or venus/neptune..

If venus is exalted in pisces or the 12th house and the higher octane of venus is neptune then neptune must be about expressing love at its highest form, unconditional love.

Good topic.

I don't know what you would call that feeling. I have Neptune conjunct Sun in Sagittarius and there is a fundamental part of my self that feels psychically connected to everything. This is especially true regarding intense feelings. When I hear music played from the heart, when I see a person triumph, when I see people hurting from oppressive circumstances, when I observe people acting selflessly I am moved deeply, often to tears.

It feels as though I experience the situation with them. Whenever I have a Neptune connection with another person, I feel as connected to them as I do my self. I see and accept their good and bad without discrimination. Part of me understands that hurting that person hurts my self. I think this can lead to intense romanticism when poorly aspected, because a common result is ignorance of the person's negative qualities, or allowing the other person to act in a way that discounts my self.

I have been through enough of these experiences to no longer accept the company of those who are not capable of cherishing me with equal compassion. It's a difficult transition when you realize it, because you discover most of the people in your life are used to treating you like crap. For me it took a pretty severe friend purge.

I would liken the feeling of Neptune to "the desire and ability to stand in another person's shoes".

I had a Venus/Neptune double whammy (trine and square) as well as Neptune conjunct MC and IC and composite Neptune conjunct NN in the 1st house with the man I broke up with a few months ago. We were totally living in a lovey-dovey fantasy for a while and then eventually we came hurtling back to earth. It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would even though we had "Saturn Glue" on the angles (Saturn conjunct AC and IC, both exact)...

So I've felt the disillusionment, along with the romance and dreaminess I must say, not the higher love part yet. At least not long term...

As a virgo with strong neptune influence in my chart I find I see people's defects clearly but still put them up in pedestal anyways if I have a nice strong connection with them and if they posses a few qualities that make me admire them such as compassion, good heart, brains, artistic inclination, resilience.

Is like the virgo in me sees the bad but the jupiter influence in me sees the potential for growth and the neptune in me wants to focus on what makes them great and love them with the good and bad.

Maybe its opposite??

Do you think Neptune messes with your head, and makes you "think" its love, but venus really shows the love??

No, Neptune`s love is as real as Venus; but they have different emphasis.

Where the fantasizing often comes in to think that Neptune desires the same personal interaction than Venus does.

Venus is part of the inner planets; she wants to relate in a very personal romantic way.
Neptune is more about spiritual, soul-love. Neptune doesn`t need a body, a physical connection to feel this kind of love, whereas Venus does strive for that physical connection as well (she naturally rules an Earth sign, too).

Neptune loves Venus spiritually. Venus loves Neptune personally. (I am talking about the symbols here, of course every synastry is unique and other aspects need to be taken into account).

If both people can harmonize this personal romantic and spiritual soullove, it can really be a dream come true.

But I think to accomplish that, other aspects need to be in place that indicate that the Neptune person also has an interest in a personal, earth-bound relationship with their partner.

If that is the case it could very well be the stuff "dreams" are made of.

EDIT:
Like Xiiro described it, there is a very compassionate note to Neptune. It is that all encompassing acceptance because Neptune resonates / feels with the other person.

Oh one more thing: Neptune doesn`t "think"; Neptune feels.
The function of higher thinking is more associated with uranus, as higher octave of Uranus.

Also maybe not unimportant, Neptune is receptive, so I donīt know how much Neptune would really "act" on their feelings. Their spiritual love simply pours out of them, it is a state of being rather than doing something.

I'm sure it could go either way, soul love or an illusion. In my situation we just happened to have that nasty square in there! (Plus, it was more like a powerful sexual thing, we have a Venus/Mars double whammy as well - conjunct in Leo and square, we were just deluding ourselves by thinking that it could be more when we really didn't have that much in common...)

I look forward to the day when I meet someone with only Venus trines/sextiles or even conjunctions to Neptune along with other more durable stuff...

DowntoMars,

yes, I think, especially in squares and oppositions or conjunctions of Neptune that are squared by other planets, that it can also point to illusions.

I also think it is an illusion to believe that we really can be satisfied with a "pure higher love" without the physical aspect (unless we have completely devoted to the spiritual a-physical path).

but we are here in an earthly physical incarnation - I mean just read the word "in-carn-ation"!-, and we apparently have physical needs as well.

Wooow I thought that that was my moon in Cancer that behaved like that. You've put it down so well. Kudos to you dude! Really!

Now, on the other hand,I have been extremely self-protective and have not been taken advantage of like that. I am aware of what type of friend I am and so, unless I feel like the party I am making friends with is genuine, I don't waste my time. I bruise easily.

Now, as for the diff between Neptune and Venus love? I feel Neptune is def more kind of a universal sort of love. You have to share a Neptune individual with their inner world, especialy if the the personal planets form close aspects to it; as their attention will most likely be divided between the relationship and their inner world.

Venus,on the other hand, is more self-centred and I guess more possessive because its primary focus is on the object of your affections and how you go about showing that special person that you care.

I have noticed , however, that venus in Libra is more into friendship/ playful love than venus in Taurus.

When venus is in Taurus, the love nature is very sensual and far more serious.

With Neptune in Sag conjuct my Sun(exact). I "feel" for others; even complete strangers.

And now it seems this empathy is extending to plants and animals; not that I didn't care for them before, but its like a switch has been lit and I find myself eating less meat, conserving the paper that I use and def being more watchful of what I use.

Depends on who you ask. A lot of people just dismiss it out of hand and feel that it pretty much only represents illusion and deceit.

Which usually just sends me into a fit of the eyerolls.

I have a Neptune conj. Mars double with my boyfriend. And I'm not sure if it's that that causes this, but sex does feel like a spiritual union of 'souls' or deeper essence.
It goes way beyond the physical, mental and emotional, into something I have no words for.

I didn't even believe in the existence of a 'soul' until I experienced this.
I have no other explanation for which parts of us are connecting otherwise.

Good topic.

Not bad intention here, but Neptune is higher octave of Jupiter.

There are different theories of the higher octaves, personally I am using this one:

personal-intrapersonal plane (from Yin to Yang)
-----------------------------------------
Moon - Sun

relational -interpersonal plane: (expressed personality in relation to others)
------------------------------------------------
Venus - Mars

social plane
-----------
Jupiter - Saturn

spiritual / transcendental plane:
------------------------------
Neptune - Pluto

Im sometimes afraid of neptunus and try to think two times before I handle so I not make wrong decision...

I'm going to say a big YES to this, but then my Venus squares Neptune and Jupiter. I'm sick of Neptune illusions. If it was not for the earth in my chart, I wouldn't be grounded.

Neptune definitely makes you feel love. But a lot of times it can be deceiving. You idealize someone to the point where u realize later that u were just walking in a romantic fog, and ur crush on them might even go away. Thats more likely with the bad aspects though. With the good aspects neptune feels great but it can lead to a kind of platonic love where sexual feelings arent even involved. You may feel that you like them sexually, but it's almost like thinking about them that way or acting on it will taint the beautiful platonic spiritual connection you have.

It's definitely love though. It's a very "i'd do anything for you" kind of feeling. And it's very nice bc both people find it easy to be forgoving of each other no matter what and to just constantly give to each other's needs without thinking "you owe me" or "you did this so im goin to do this to you" It's def very nice and beautiful. Both ppl idealize each other amd its nice to see someone could love u so uncondiotionally, always seeing the best in you.

I have never felt a strong neptune bond unless there was another benefic involved such as venus or jupiter, often both. But i guess this applie to me with venus-pluto as well.

I just wanted to say, i think moon square venus is fantastic

venus-pluto is a bit too unstable for me---it's a can live with you cant live without u feeling. They affect u so much that anything they do that is little less than perfect can make ur heart shatter, so u have great power over evh other. This causes most ppl in venus-pluto bonds too break it off bc it's too much of a rollercoaster ride, and though the powerful love and passion transformed their lives and changed them forever to see how kuch someone else could love them, it's not something that can be sustained long term in a healthy way bc feelings run so strong it leads to constant games, shyness, and insecurity.

It's pretty idealistic, encourages a lot of fantasy, and makes you see what you want to see. Agree on the generosity/giving with Jupiter.

Would you say Neptune makes you feel like everything is perfect, like your in wonderland.. Like living on cloud nine...
Maybe people that have it in natal dont necessarily feel that, but someone thats not use to Neptune's energy.. Would they all of a sudden be on cloud 9..

Im trying to understand the "feelings" that neptune gives, whether it be delusional or not.. (agreed.. most of the time it is.)

If someone wasn't familiar with Neptune energy, chances are, they wouldn't notice until after Neptune had passed. It sweeps you up and though "illusions" are attributed to Neptune, it feels very real, you feel very valid in your illusory ideas. It is an anesthetizing energy, it numbs us to the aspects of reality which make us feel separated from our environment. How it feels has a lot to do with the sign it's in. Mine is in Sag, so I am certainly prone to Neptunian feelings of being high on someone, feeling lifted to a new spiritual level, or feeling free. In Capricorn, I would expect it to manifest more practically, the deep feelings within Capricorn well up into a force which takes over their logical processes. They will think of all sorts of logical and practical reasons for why the Neptunian idea is a good idea. It feels like the right thing to do, it feels like a mode of action which will lead to great benefit... It feels like a dream come true.

After Neptune passes, things start getting more edgy and realistic, ideas like "maybe his glaring control issue IS something I should consider", start to come up.

I would suspect Person A to see Person B's achievements, spiritual presence, and public identity as something which intoxicates or uplifts them intellectually. Person B may also seem like someone who could facilitate travel, expansion, and freedom for Person A. Person A may feel a spiritual link with the person (possibly based on an attraction to their status or ethics rather than an actual spiritual connection) and feel as though they will do anything to remain connected to or affiliated with Person B.

Conversely

Person B may feel that Person A is capable of loving them unconditionally and may be compelled to take care of, work hard for, or show off for Person A. Person B feels adored and explored by Person A. Person B may even get a sense that Person A is exactly the right kind of person to have with them as they expand their achievements, spiritual presence, and public identity. There may be a lot of romantic gestures by Person B and a bit of a feeling that they need to win Person A's affection.

After time passes, there had better be other synastry, because the above has nothing to do with actual connection, it is a Sagittarian Olympic event where Person B is the athlete and Person A is the medal.
