Whats the difference between Mercury in Aquarius house 1 Conjunction Ascendant and Sun in Aquarius house 12 conjunct mercury? Don't they go both ways? Does this intensify ones ego and intellect?

I read that conjunctions can be considered as a blind spot aspect. Any insight to this has anyone experienced this for themselves?

If Mercury is conjunct Ascendant from H1's side, the person is chatty and alert, and this is seen by others.

With Sun conj Mercury, yeah the person is like Mercury personified: curious about immediate environment, alert.

The person would also identify with his/her mind. This could mean that if this person's ideas are attacked, it is taken as an attack to the ego (Sun). However, since the Sun is hidden in H12, the ego bruising would not be shown.

Other aspects to this conjunction would of course affect this whole equation.
