I'm an atheist, and I'm just wondering if there are any others on here.I'm sure it's really weird to be an atheist and believe in something seemingly mystical. The Occult deals with nature much more than astrology does. I can see why people would want to categorize astrology as something Occult, though, because they both seem very spiritual. I don't use astrology as anything spiritual, though. I use it to predict what will happen in myself, other people, and my relationships. It's just a psychological science for me. IP: Logged |

That's how i see it too psychological science, I call it an experimental science.I'm not an atheist though, I'm really bored with religion and anti religion, that's the reason lol Occult doesn't always mean bad, but i hardly see how it's the occult, people have made the word ''occult'' of a negative connotation now though. The right wing have, look at how much pagans suffer from judgement these days. IP: Logged |

I don't think the Occult is bad! The Occult to me is just mainly revolved around Wicca and Paganism and nature. And controlling things with nature! And I don't consider astrology nature since it's not on earth or earthy.** IP: Logged |

Maybe it's more on earth than you believe. Maybe what you see isn't really what you're seeing.IP: Logged |

I think one of the reasons astrology is considered by some as a predictive tool is that it's ruled by Aquarius, and Aquarius is a future-oriented sign.IP: Logged |

But they're mapped from the earth's perspective. That's why when people refer to the Western hemisphere on a chart, you actually look to the right half; Eastern to the left half; Northern hemisphere to the bottom half; Southern hemisphere to the top half. You're looking from the earth up toward the sky. IP: Logged |

That doesn't seem relevant to what I said. IP: Logged |

I think it must be in your stars whether you are a believer or not because my own sister, raised the same as I was, is an atheist, as is my oldest son. I have Venus in the 9th which may be the key to my beliefs.IP: Logged |

I'm not an atheist I'm an absurdist. I don't like the god bashing that I see many atheists doing ~ and so don't want to be associated with "them". I use astrology [amongst other things] as tools for self development, and they can also be great at teaching people how we're all different and the ways that we can be different. I'm trying to build a site that is relatively belief free but progress is slow due to many factors [needing to make a living is one]. But I'll most certainly have it finished by the end of the year. I hope to present astrology as a tool rather than a belief. It'll be aimed at atheists/absurdists and others who have no religious/spiritual beliefs. IP: Logged |

I do not believe in anything after this life; karma, reincarnation .. or anything that falls under the label *God*. Does that make me an atheist?IP: Logged |

I dont know if i would consider myself an atheist. I believe in a higher power and i like buddhism.People annoy me when they say god is a he. I believe jesus was a being from another planet...not the son of god.....or he as most people say. Lol im so weird

I am totally agnostic. I don't, for one second, entertain the notion I know everything there is to know about so much massive vastness. I like to pray to Neptune and ask for peace though.IP: Logged |

I'm an atheist, technically (don't believe in deities).. But everyone believes in something.. I believe in astrology, karma, past lives, etc.. I agree with StarlightSmileSupreme that the universe is too complex for us to fully understand. IP: Logged |

One here To me astrology is a theoretical tool that should be tested many times for credibility. I dont "believe" in it. I research it and see if it has any predictive ability. IP: Logged |

tbh same here to a certain extent. Studying it fascinates me and relaxes my mind, though. It's like a hobby to me. IP: Logged |

^^ Astrology really got me when I started studying transits. The predictive side is eerily accurate... IP: Logged |

I like keeping an eye on transits. I admit I am not totally into it like some are and there are plenty here who have studied the minor aspects which I tend to gloss over. I do notice one thing in particular. When the moon transits my sun sign, my mood is definitely better than it is at other times. Have you noticed that about your sun sign, Starfairy? IP: Logged |
