I have my South Node in Cancer in the 11th. I'd like to volunteer in a couple of ways in the future. I'm hoping to get a Reiki attunement next year and if I had a chance I'd love to practise in a hospital as a volunteer.I have: SN conjunct Chiron SN square Moon SN sextile Mars-Reiki SN opposite Saturn SN trine PoF Where is your SN and how is it aspected? What's your positive experience/intention? ------------------ I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy. IP: Logged |

I have my SN in sag in 11th house and it's:- conjunct my chart ruler uranus -conjunct my name asteroid -conjunct my eros -sextile my aqua moon -square my venus and mercury (ugh) -opposite my chiron I think it gives me an optimistic view of life and goals and I plan (since when I was a child) to work/volunteer in institutions like greenpeace, united nations or work abroad in things that could benefit the whole world and not only my country. Great idea, Cappy, you would be an excellent volunteer! I have a twelfth house south node and I really appreciate the twelfth house. I call it my Worry-Free Zone and people who know astrology go what, what? How can this be then I must remind them the twelfth house is opposite sixth and Virgo is notorious for worrying so sixth must be where the worry is while Pisces and twelve should be more relaxed and contemplative. At least this is how it looks from here. So I like to rest in my south node to unwind. IP: Logged |

Good luck with your plan.I have SN cancer, oppose Saturn and sexile mars, conjunct chiron, square MC. Yeah, volunteer work and nursing/helping the sick and weak are good. I work in a hospital (children's ward). Used to work in the psych ward but it got a bit too physically draining. Heh, being a cap sun helps. I'm caring but quite detached - not an emotional sponge, so to me, nursing isn't as emotionally demanding as it is to some other people. IP: Logged |

I've always been under the impression that we're supposed to avoid our SN tendencies and move towards our NN, but I've noticed lately that people have been talking a lot about the positive uses of SN energy...?My SN is in Gemini, in 10th/11th. It forms a tight Grand Square with my Sun, Moon, and NN/Neptune (about 1 degree with Sun/Moon, wider orb with Neptune). It's trine my Pluto, sextile my Venus, and opposite my Neptune. Now that I think of it, in my work place I've always been able to provide a lot of information to people who needed resources, and I've been good at communicating with the schizophrenic residents I worked with. I would hang out with them at work and just chat, which I think helped them feel like I viewed them as equals (because I did and still do), while some of my coworkers could be a little on the condescending side with the residents. I started a "Ladies Group" where the ladies could get together, sit outside, and have coffee and scones, and talk. It brought out a completely different side for some of the residents who rarely communicated with other people in a coherent fashion. They seemed to kind of come back to reality for a little while and talk about their lives. I started an art group at that particular location. I also lead a lot of "Life Skills" types of groups for the clients/residents at various places, and I used humor to make it less dull and tedious. I would laugh with the clients and get them to participate as much as possible, and it was kind of fun. So...I would like to utilize my Sag NN a bit better now, but I really don't have much of a clue on that one.

Violets, it sounds like you ARE utilizing that NN. 3rd/4th house has to do with communicating, and 4th with family, and it sounds like you're treating those residents like family, like they *matter,* which is just what they need!I've got my SN in Sagittarius in 5th, and am unsure how that's supposed to play out. It's also where an empty leg of my chart goes; I have a T-square of an opposition in the 2nd/8th houses squared by Jupiter conj NN in the 11th. Seems like that would be a simultaneous pull-toward yet a pulling-away-from 5th house matters. IP: Logged |

Thank you, CancerGirl. My NN is conjunct my Neptune in 4th/5th though, so I'm not sure that communication is as much my friend anymore, haha. I probably focus too much on it, with Aqua Mercury on my DC.But I did recently quit my job so that I can spend more time volunteering in activities that involve my son, and I've overcome some weird phobias I had about being domestic. It was cool the way it happened, because my in-laws (the ones I really like) were visiting for a month, and my step mother in-law has her NN conjunct my Sun in 8th. Having her around really helped me overcome some obstacles to my own NN, I think. But that's another story. I'll let Cappy have her thread back now. IP: Logged |

@muddy Thanks! Looks like our SNs work very similarly @SSS Ok, let's say I believe you @Violets That's very kind of you! I don't think we should eradicate everything related to our SNs just because it's about the past. We can use our skills and tendencies in a way that will make our and others' life better. ------------------ I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy. IP: Logged |

It took me a minute to think about this. Sometimes things in my chart are very difficult for me to separate but I think I've got it. Aspects (only planets and Chiron) 8th house Taurus - conjunct Chiron - opposite Uranus - sextile MC I honestly don't understand how those aspects work, but following your similar kinds of descriptions. None of this will happen, I'm sure... I was actually recently inspired from the "rape" thread in "sweat peas". (and by SSS's compliments in another thread) I think it would be neat to speak to rape victims (and their S.O. if desired). In groups, so they have multiple places to turn to, tell stories, support each other. Just to let them know that they are the same beautiful person that they were before. I have no special education, experience, or personal story so.... lol..... I can't. Like, legally probably can't. I'd be willing to learn the legal in's and out's... places to turn to, etc etc. Nothing else comes to mind but similar types of things. I like to help people in that way. EDIT: Maybe people with like... a terminal illness and no immediate family? Never thought about that before. Maybe! I don't know yet. IP: Logged |
