You have a lot of Neptune and it aspects a luminary so that might help. Saturn gives a sense of responsibility, too.

Saturn and Neptune.

Venus and Saturn.

And then Mars for the energy and drive to do the volunteering.

Sixth and seventh house activity.

I like to think I'm a good volunteer.

Cap Mars in 6th and Cancer Saturn in 11th.
Saturn trine Sun.
Virgo Moon.
Mercury Aqua conjunct DC and Part of Fortune from 6th.

You get the picture.

Is Sun conjunct Neptune, Neptune conjunct Uranus and Neptune trine AC really a lot?

Violets, what's your favorite way to volunteer?

yes, just because Neptune strongly aspects a luminary. This isn't enough on it's own. Saturn and certain houses have a say. You should feel responsible toward others and have a sense of duty, like what the sixth and seventh house indicates.

MC might want too much compensation and not have time to volunteer.

Sixth house seems to be the most obvious link.

You have Saturn in fifth so responsibilities could be an sense of enjoyment instead of just a burden.

Hmm. I generally volunteer with people who have a disadvantage of some sort, although I've moved on to volunteering with things that my son participates in (NN in 4th/5th).

I prefer working with mentally ill adults or autistic children, but that's usually been a place of employment, not a place of volunteering.

But I like things like art groups and book groups in places like homeless shelters. Those are things I've committed to without hesitation.

I also really like picking up litter, hahaha. I just do that in my own time, but I would volunteer for it formally if it came up.

Picking up litter? Errr...to each their own It must be your 6th house Mars I like the idea of entertaining the homeless.

SSS, if it's me who chooses the responsibility then yeah. I don't enjoy every type of duty.
My 6th, 7th and 10th are empty but I have Mars conjunct MC from the 9th. What about Jupiter in the 11th? It's probably a very good placement in this case, isn't it?

@ Cappy-
Heh. Well, we live in a wooded area, so seeing this type of thing can be really bothersome (to me). So I pick it up.

But yeah, I don't walk around the city streets picking up litter, hahahaha.

I pick up litter and worse all the time, too, but I don't have placements at all like that. It was bad enough that neighbors would actually leave anonymous notes on my door for another cleanup. I got angry over that but couldn't stand to live in filth so I kept at it. And I once saw kids doing kickflips and in trees over broken glass (A LOT of broken glass, look like someone smashed scores of bottles) and asked the mothers who were out why they let them play in that. They said it wasn't their responsibility and they got into a disagreement with each other on who they'd sue if they had to take their kids to the hospital. I resolved not to clean it up myself but I was tormented by images of animals getting it in their paws and licking it off so I finally went out there to sweep it up with some very negative views about my neighbors. Oh, and when some jerk placed tacks along a bike path I didn't just avoid them I picked up every single one. (Likewise when I saw a nail someone made to stick out of a gazebo at a park I went home and came back with a hammer to nail it back down before it cut someone.)

I've done some volunteering but I'm much better at a "random acts of kindness." My Sag stellium doesn't care for having my time structured. Still, when a library had about 20 volunteers for a reading program and EVERY SINGLE ONE flaked they called me in and I volunteered for the entire summer. Glad to say I reaped some good karma from that (I sure as hell earned it).

Jupiter in eleventh can be very fortunate for friendship. You should have no problems making friends.

As for explaining why according to my chart I suppose that would be my Leo asc (Leo can be protective), Libra wanting to live in beauty & harmony, and Sag appreciating the concept of "be the change you want to see."

When I volunteered at a food bank I did so to protect my girl and her girl scout troop from bad elements among the homeless (though I later came to view a couple of the people who ran the food bank with more concern in regard to the safety of the girls). That is I was just being protective. However, I was placed on sorting through donated food by farmers (and having been raised on a farm I was good at that) and made interesting friends both among fellow volunteers and those we helped so that helped me to keep coming back. And finally I realized that the homeless and near homeless who came here were different from the kinds I was raised with (last time I'd been homeless I'd been a runaway ineligible for any type of public assistance and thus was stuck with adult homeless who also had to avoid the system along with wanted criminals, predators after kids, and crazed schizos who could become violent against anyone weaker, but the people who came to the food banks were different) so I ended up befriending them and thus continued to aid the homeless there which was again probably my Leo guardianship as well as Sag Direct Action (plus Libra enjoying friends), and I stayed until the food bank was shut down (even after that I still help once in awhile with helping the homeless).

That said I've done random acts of kindness for the homeless before that.
