I can be a 'corrector' of inaccuracies and a penetrating analyzer of others, but it starts with myself. When molehills are turned into mountains, then things are out of balance.

That's literally the reason; it manifests into a critical nature. They look for perfection in everything, and if it doesn't match up to their high standards AND that specific thing's full capability/potential, they criticize to vent. What's interesting is at work especially it comes out as me generating ideas, rather than criticizing what is.
Just, "what about this....?" if they shoot it down, oh well. But I like to try to make improvement, make a difference.

A very virgo-an person once explained to me that striving for perfection is fun. The fun is in the process. Makes them feel that their "new" self is better than the old ones.

My s.o has virgo moon/mars/venus and he pretty much has similar views. One time we were talking about our attitude towards life, career, play..etc... and I used an example about my hobby. I explained that I just “enjoy doing what I liked and I felt no need to try to be better/try to perfect my skills. Enjoyment was the goal.

Put these together and you have someone who grows by adapting into what they think is more practical. They feel like they are stagnant if they do not tweak the subject in question.
