I just got the Noel Tyl book Solar Arcs. I'm having a hard time understanding how to use this way of interpreting as well. Is it sort of like reading progressions in a chart?

Solar Returns are only a screenshot of the transits for that year. For more influential effects look at progressions and transits to your progressions.
