Yes, most of the time. And mostly because of the learning. cusp of 9th house in Leo, Virgo intercepted Sun conjunct Mercury in Sag in 1st house exact. But you knew that. IP: Logged |

I wonder, is 9th higher learning only or education in general? Just wondering. I HATED school so much that I still don't like to think about it or keep in touch with people from that time. (So basically my whole childhood I don't like to think about a whole lot) However, I LOVED college and if I could I'd actually take college courses for life. IP: Logged |

Hated school before college. I absolutely love college, it's stressful but I love it. I have an empty 9th house in Gemini.------------------ "Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace." -Dalai Lama IP: Logged |

Good point. Maybe Jupiter is about education overall? IP: Logged |

I'm sorry Faith that's hard, I feel like with college you really have to go in with a set plan for a set career otherwise it's just time wasting/money wasting and I don't think high schools really tell people that. I also don't really think it's fair either to do that to people who are still so young and need to experience a little bit of everything before they make an educated choice on what they want to be for the REST of their live :/ ------------------ "Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace." -Dalai Lama IP: Logged |

Dopgang & Stubborn Virgo I'm right there with you two!Hated school, but LOVED college. The only difference for me is it had nothing to do with personal experiences and EVERYTHING to do with the educational system. I hate how it's set up and have really strong beliefs when it comes to that. And don't even get me started on this new common core bs... I feel like the world could be amazing if we stopped trying to fit all students into one box and allowed them to develop their talents instead of focusing on their weaknesses. When kids get to high school, they should have more freedom over the classes they're taking imo (Stellium in 9th house Sagittarius. Ruler of my 9th is in my 12th) IP: Logged |

I only like school if I care about what I'm learning.I did well in primary, junior, and high school with little effort, but got my ass kicked in university because I found subjects like economics, calculus, and accounting to be too boring. I got some of my best marks at arts colleges, and graduated at the top of my class in the only program I ever finished. Virgo rules my ninth house, and Mercury sits in my first house conjunct Venus. I learn like a Virgo in that I take copious notes and want to know all there is to know about a particular subject; however, small details can trip me up if I can't grasp them mentally. IP: Logged |

Yeah the educational system is crappy in America...I liked it anyway ...but it was different back when I was young, and I went to Catholic school. Then I felt cheated because so much of what I learned turned out to not really suit my purposes...I had to unlearn a lot. I was a literature major in college, and my senior year, I had to catch up on stuff from the 1600's & 1700's; much of that was mired in religious traditions...Saturn was transiting my 9H at the time, and those people rubbed off on me. Paradoxically my *liberal* arts school accidentally turned me conservative by introducing me to some compelling old theologians. But I guess, it was all just meant to be. I had a friend in college who was born 3 days after me; she was ranked first in our class after one semester and decided to drop out then, move to Hawaii, do drugs, go to a community college to take art lessons, and mail us coconuts. To say I was jealous is the biggest understatement ever But still, I met her again over the internet 15 years later and our lives turned out to be very similar. UNCANNY how similar we turned out. Is that a Virgo thing? I have a 6H sun and Mercury and took copious notes. And recopied my notes. And typed my notes. IP: Logged |

Crazy how much astrology has to do with it. Yeah, I wouldn't have enjoyed college either if that was the case. But it sounds like Saturn was changing your beliefs, and probably had a lot to do with the struggles. Saturn is transiting my 9th house now, and I'm wondering what's in store.... quote: I had a friend in college who was born 3 days after me; she was ranked first in our class after one semester and decided to drop out then, move to Hawaii, do drugs, go to a community college to take art lessons, and mail us coconuts. What is that, the Restoration/post restoration period? Including Enlightenment, Victorian, and early Romantics? That's a whole lot to be catching up on. Edit: I assumed this was European/British lit and not American or any other lit. IP: Logged |

I don't particularly mind school, but sometimes my classmates can really irritate me. Having homework is just ridiculous to me. I only do it half of the time and still manage to get As and Bs in school (not to brag). My 9th house has no planets in it, and it's ruled by Cancer. My Moon only has an opposition to Pluto; everything else are trines to my Aqua Stellium and sextiles. IP: Logged |

*ashen face* Oh god. I see the Ghost of English Major Past. Yeah, I suffered through the pre-Raphaelites twice in college...then I had a pleasant but sadistic professor who wanted us to read all the plays Shelley, Byron and people like that couldn't get published in their day, because the plays were badly done. It was Walter Pater who snagged me, do you know him? Then I was reading some of the earliest British female novelists...Elizabeth...*asks Google*...Elizabeth INCHBALD and some other forgotten authors. Strangely it all meshed with the American transcendentalism I was most fond of, at least in my mind, and I presented all that as my senior thesis, while I was already in process reading the Bible, something I thought I would never, ever do. But...tr Saturn on my Jupiter...I dunno...strange days. IP: Logged |

Yes, actually I do know Pater. This has nothing to do with his work specifically but I had a prof who hooked up with a student and talked about it openly, who loved Pater. Saturn was opposite my chiron at the time. IP: Logged |
