And then we have Scorpio and all of this stigma. They are the most popular signs sn everyone wants to be a Scorpio! But I don't understand why. Yeah, they're mysterious and extremists and they keep to themselves a lot.. A bunch of other good stuff but according to society Libra ranks higher with what's deemed acceptable.
Libra is beautiful and charming and friendly
Scorpio is isolated, cold, extreme feelings of sweetness or bitterness. I understand that Scorpios have two sides to them but overall you either love or hate a Scorpio and with Libra that's never the case. Most Libras are hard to hate...

But that fantasy is different from the reality. It seems when people talk about the Scorpios that they get rather than desire (that is the real thing over the fantasy), they're crying up a storm over how terrible it is, at least on LL. And it seems they get the most complaints, though that could be because those into astrology single these people out for their Scorpio placements and thus are statistically certain to run into bad apples more than they would of other signs.

Though to be fair, Scorpios aren't supposed to like fakes, nor are they inclined to protect the weak (at least not in romance, women who want a passionate protector should look more to Leo than Scorpio--and if they don't mind Scorpio moodiness, then also Cancer, they're stronger and more devoted than many give them credit for, and much more tolerant of damsels needing to be cared for, though they can hold a grudge as much as Scorpio can), and I've seen plenty here trying to figure out how to play Scorpio to keep them which one just should not even try (because the moment Scorpio senses it, it will go bad, quite possibly getting played in turn for revenge at the attempt before discarded with contempt).

And if you (male or female) just want to submit, I don't see how that can truly attract a Scorpio who are drawn to power and strength (even if they try to dominate it). Think like Morticia and Gomez Addams, both are passionate and devoted but neither are passive or weak, nor do they try to manipulate each other with fakeness. (Heh, Wednesday Addams telling that boy that she'd pity anyone who would be her devoted love slave, that strikes me as very Scorpio.)

I think it's by association.

Scorpio is the sign representing sex.
Most people love sex.
Therefore, they must love Scorpio, right?

I don't know Libra is the most desirable sign. In fact I've never heard about that.

By the way, you listed Libra's positive traits and some of Scorpio's not so desirable ones. I don't think they can be compared. Scorpios can have depth, loyalty and being very protective of the ones they love.

As for everyone seems to want to be a scorpio (have never heard about that either), I think it's because people remember the most the ones they love or hate, not the ones they like.

Nah, that's all you. Don't use your Astrology as an excuse for sucking. You can make your personality better you just aren't trying. That or you're around the wrong people that don't compliment your personality. Whatever it is , it is not your Libra planets.

If you have Scorpio placements however, and I mean real genuine Scorpio placements and not just Pluto quintile a planet or something ridiculous, you know it's actually...not that great. It feels like being caught in a storm 24/7 (especially the Moon). Suspicious, paranoid, hesitant to trust, I would trade it away any day.

My husband is a Scorpion with a Scorpio stellium in his 11th House. I have North Node, Uranus, Vertex in 5th House Scorpio. Neither one of us are anything like what anyone is describing here.

My Pisces sun and moon in the 8th house feels more comfortable around people who have deep souls. I like scorpios because I can feel their intensity. It's magnetic yet mysterious in a quiet but powerful way.
