Is it common that cancer moons are private with their feelings and personal matters? Bc Lisa vanderpump got this moon sign and she has gotten complaints from her friends bc they have shared a lot with her while she has been very private about anything concerning her and i have gone through the same thing as her. I have gotten the same complaints from my friends and they find me to be very private. I have noticed with myself that i like an unspoken understanding or something or just an understanding that might make me open up and if i don't have that than it is a slim chance you`ll know what and how i feel. Its rare that i cry in front of people too and even when i have been busted crying and asked "what`s wrong?" my reply is always something like "oh its nothing" and i leave it at that and people are left confused. The same i have seen with my brother who also got a cancer moon and he esp gets annoyed if asked "what is going on?" while upset and will always answer back with "nothing" . What is up with that? I thought cancer moons are very into feelings and talking about feelings and all that but more and more now i have noticed that cancer moons are very private individuals.

My Cancer moon friend talks about her feelings.

But she has a Sag sun and her feelings seem to be mostly about the highs and lows of her high-adventure lifestyle. Not sorrowful things.

She and I did have a conversation once about how it's so much easier telling strangers personal things about yourself, because then it doesn't alter the friendship or have a long-range effect, you're just getting something off your chest and moving on.

That's one reason I don't even have a FB (as a fellow water moon). In some ways you all know me more than the people who know me.

Haha i can relate to that But even with strangers i don't open up too much.

I can understand for your brother, assuming he was raised in a place like those I'm familiar with. Boys aren't supposed to cry or share their feelings in that way. They might, of course, but they're generally given a real hard time for it, and it's just not worth it save with those they trust above all (and if a teen, his brain could be going haywire anyway so even he doesn't know what's going on with himself). And upbringing does have an affect.

Perhaps the saddest I've seen of that was a Libra sun who looked scary and wore ratty clothes. He described himself as once having cared about appearance, loved to coordinate colors, was thoughtful and polite, and essentially a gentleman (as his natal chart would indicate), but his ignorant family took it as a sign of homosexuality and brutally beat it out of him. Now he can't do that anymore without feeling as if he's in danger. Life has taken his potential and essentially mutilated his natal chart.

And a Cancer moon is much more sensitive than a Libra sun. If he's been tormented as a boy who cries, his feelings mocked for a long time and quite possibly even targeted for violence...his reaction would not surprise me.

Female Cancer moons could be the same way. Plenty of women who pretend to be caring, who want you to open up and share so they can comfort you, are actually either trying to manipulate you into being one of their minions (and they don't really care about your feelings other than how they can use them as a means to control you), bask in your misery, and/or share your hurts with others (especially if it can be used to pry the secrets from someone else, though sometimes they do it just to show contempt behind the said person's back). That fairly common behavior would get them to shut down fast as well.

In my opinion Cancer Moon is not very private. Cancer is ruled by the Moon, so Cancer Moon is a pretty harmonious placement to have, allowing emotions to flow freely and expressed with ease. Scorpio Moon is very private though, the Moon is in fall in Scorpio, causing blockages and emotional withholding.

I don't find that accurate at all ime :/ I have noticed people have felt at ease expressing their feelings around me and i love talking and hearing about what other people are going through bc i genuinely care about other people`s feelings and its hard for me to ignore someone that is in distress but i don't express my feelings as easily. A lot of times i just feel what i feel and move on and never express it to anyone, i just deal with it on my own. Its as if i find it too much of an "effort" to express my emotions and the same i have seen with my brother.

By any chance do you know what decan your and your brother's Moon are in?

First 10 degrees of Cancer = Moon decan
Second 10 degrees of Cancer = Pluto decan
Third 10 degrees of Cancer = Neptune decan

I would say protective of their feelings, maybe even selective. For those trusted and loved people near to them they will be open.

I feel like it has to depend on which house the moon is in. It feels natural to me that someone with a cancer moon in the 8th or 12th houses would find their emotions/inner life either too vulnerable to share, or too private, especially since those emotions will be deeply felt and core to them as cancer moons. Having placements and aspects that increase the effective power of a planet does not necessarily impart mastery or openness with that power, nor should it? Cancer moons are gifted and tasked with many things by their natures, but that doesn't mean that includes the desire or easy ability to share the fruits of their nature.

I would guess the order of more likely to be open to most likely to be private by house position of the cancer moon as: 5th/10th/11th > 1st/3rd/9th > 2nd/6th/7th > 4th/8th/12th. Based mostly on gut though.

The two that I have known; Aqua Sun and Virgo Sun, both males:

Are extremely open when they are comfortable with you- and in both instances this literally happened upon initial meeting. Takes a while to notice this from your end and they know when you don't like them eventually. They are the type to defend you and speak of you as if you can't do wrong in front of others no matter what- on that note if eventually it's not romantic they are cold, but they still have that loyalty. My Pisces Sun + Pisces Moon conjunct in 8th loves this, even in platonic. They have your back.

Ime, not really, most are not the kind who would tell anyone anything, but *very private* ? - then no, at least not from my perspective. Two are prone to talking forever about their love conumdrums and certain things of the past - at least when they're with me. I'm chatty, and sometimes I don't expect such loaded, heavy answers, lol but it's more my issue, not theirs. Don't ask if you're not prepared for the answers (duh, who knew a simple question like "Why did you decide to learn xyz?" could lead to the revealing of such a life story filled with tragedies"). After a few times, lesson learned, I now avoid pressing the "triggers".

But then I have cancer chiron conjunct their placements, so...

But maybe they're private... Maybe to the point where I don't even know that they're private lol.

Seriously though, I think they can either be very private and keep it in. Or those emotions/feelings can well up and flow every where, leading to oversharing.

Wow i have been thinking about that and think this might be the case a lot of times with us cancer moons that people think we are more open than what we are. It took a few years before my friends and even i realized how private i really am.

I try to communicate my feelings to people.

But there are those other feelings. Those that most water Moon people may be more familiar with and recognize.

Those are hard to communicate about as they seem purely reserved for you to ponder/worry and mull over etc.

You don't know where they came from? And how to rationally explain them to others without being judged.

Being a water Moon sometimes can really suck
