I read somewhere that when Mars is retrograde, it's not a good time to start a battle or some type of war that will last past the retrograde period because once Mars turns direct, the energy can shift and put you in a losing position. Now wars/battles can be used for anything you want, like for instance contract disputes, pushing for new management or for someone to give up office somewhere, or maybe a custody battle. Is this true? And what if the war was long coming anyway and it just happened to start during the retrograde period? IP: Logged |

What sort of battle are you talking about? My first thought was, "Why start one at all?" but then I thought of things like legal battles. IP: Logged |

Also, what if they keep provoking you and the usual calming methods so that you let it slide aren't working long term at the moment? IP: Logged |

At the beginning of this weekend...4 Sag Transiting Mars, Rx = 4 Sag transiting draconic sun *square* 4 Pisces Uranus/Pluto midpoint I think that was making battles whether people consciously wanted them or not? IP: Logged |

That sounds like Mars and Mercury retrograde, as well. I had one misunderstanding, but it was sorted out quickly, and was my misunderstanding. IP: Logged |

This isn't so much like a battle with bad intentions meaning, something like revenge. I think it's more like something has been going on for so long and someone is finally standing up for what is "right" and bringing issues out into the open. Which is great in my opinion but I was wondering if battles are initiated now will lose something once Mars is direct. And Faith, the biggest part of it escalated during that time but it had its last straw last week and the "first punch" thrown around Wednesday. IP: Logged |

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I can relate. I made a note to myself earlier today: "I just want to hold my focus on these problems and let nothing else cloud over them." I think I was fearing Mars direct undoing any progress I've made by holding my ground on some issues. We'll see.... *fingers crossed*

So, I'm still wondering if "battles" chosen during Mars Rx will result in losses when it goes direct? (To simplify what I'm trying to ask.)I mentioned in another thread that I've had to set boundaries with people repeatedly during this transit, and I find that I'm irate after having my patience tried repeatedly, and having to spell out what I would hope should be obvious expectations of common courtesy, etc. So, as I'm setting these boundaries (or at least making up my mind as to how I'm going to define said boundaries, and then lay them out for people), is this progress going to be reversed when Mars goes direct? I think it's up to us?Preserve and maintain whatever we learn in the Rx period...and carry it forward. I think I have usually just dropped the ball and quit with Mars direct. Maybe because my natal Mars is Rx, so my Mars understands itself better when transiting Mars is Rx. Hmm. IP: Logged |

I am glad so many people keep talking about Mars Rx bc it has forced me to really think about how it has been affecting me.I dont feel it has made me more irritable than typical but I have noticed that I am more mindful like when I snap I right away or shortly after realize that I am being rude or responding more intensely than I should and I apologize quickly in a heartfelt way and auto correct my behavior. It helps me gain more insight into my anger, behavior and reaction and helps self regulate or at least auto correct more quickly and easily. Usually I just get angry or annoy and snap and that is it, there isn't this mindfulness behind it or attempt to self regulate. Mars rx is in my 12th house conjuncting my Chart ruler Jupiter and Uranus as well as approaching my AC and opposing Chiron so perhaps the rx in combo with 12th house energy brings with it mindfulness. SPEED , that is my note, speed. We note the retrograde day and the day it turns direct. However what you are talking about with battles requires a deeper look and more time. The normal daily motion of Mars is maybe 41' a day. It may move less that 20' a day for weeks before it actually reaches standstill(earth passing) and likewise on the other end even after it goes direct it will be a while before it gets back to average daily motion and also before it reaches previous positions. My point is with your planned battles question the DAY it turns is not the critical day------------------ LeekingChee IP: Logged |

Hey Violets, good to see you. Hope your pregnancy is going well! How's that little peanut doing? Is it kicking and giving high fives through the womb yet? With this whole wars/battles thing, I can't help but think that a lot of what is happening on my end of the spectrum (that I'm witnessing) is related to both Mars and Saturn Rx. Something about these things seem very karmic. And I usually don't like to use that term lightly because it implies some sort of justification, even if it's bad. I believe though that it has to do with both those planets being in retrograde. And it's been difficult to gauge when to make the next move because timing and drive and action just seem off. Not to mention mental and verbal clarity. But what I'm worried about with people picking huge battles, leading to a somewhat long war, is that they might regret it later on when Mars and Saturn goes direct. IP: Logged |

Hi! Yes, the little guy is definitely starting to kick around and get his exercise in. I have basically the same concerns... I usually choose my battles and keep things to myself, but as Mars is hitting both my Sun and Moon, I seem to be getting hit with aggression (or passive-aggression), and just plain irritating situations from all directions lately, and I don't feel as though I have much choice but to say what I need to say...but I'm really hoping I don't come to regret that after Mars goes direct. My son just threw dirt in his friend's face at school today, for no apparent reason (he just turned five, and has an Aries stellium if that explains anything). So I informed him we were going home, told him to apologize to his friend, and tried to apologize to the little boy's mom, and...she basically ignored me. Like I tell my son to act that way, or like we go around throwing things at each other at home. Immediately before picking him up from school, my cousin called to dredge up more anecdotes about something she said that I didn't find funny (but she did), like she's desperately trying to convince me that "No, it's really funny, so I'll keep bringing it up until you agree with me". I had to tell her that I basically just don't "get" her "sense of humor", and basically let her know that I wasn't really sure what the point was in calling me to tell more lame jokes about it. Maybe you're right, maybe there is something weirdly karmic about it, like stuff we need to learn how to deal with appropriately? I haven no idea. Sorry to unload here, but I do have a big, giant WTF to send out to the Universe. IP: Logged |

I'm kind of partial to red and white, but I will use whatever is handy (if anything at all). I had a nifty vintage apron from the '60s, but I lost track of that years ago.IP: Logged |

Is your son normally oppositional or is he pretty easy going?
