these two overlap very often. someone who is truly spiritual would never deny religion. If they do, the seemingly spiritual side of them most probably comes from neptune. but if the spirituality is real (the person is always in the state of "awareness" and thus refuses to go with the crazy flow of the world), there is often jupiter on angles, or in aspect to the sun or the moon, or there's a sagittarius or a 9th house emphasis (sun, moon, jupiter or the nodes). the 9th ruler on the angles or aspecting the sun or the moon could also make the person spiritually aware. I have Sun conjunct Neptune, and Mars conjunct Neptune. Moon opposite Neptune, MC opposite Neptune, Saturn sextile Neptune, and Neptune square Ascendant. I'm very serious about my spirituality and advocate for others to find their own, but I do not like most religions. North Node in the 12th house. Is a very spiritual placement. Cancer or Pisces as the MC can be spiritual as well. Spirituality without religion I would look to Neptune, especially to personal planets and luminaries. I would not say Jupiter because I see that as religion, but perhaps 9th house and the 12th house placements as well ------------------ "Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace." -Dalai Lama IP: Logged |

Spiritual?I take the example from both of my parents. I don't know their birth time so the houses are dismissed. Both have pisces in their natal, Dad a Pisces mars and Mom a Pisces venus. They aren't really crazy about religion although I was raised religiously and both are active at church. My Mom is a lead singer in her choir (my Dad somewhere volunteering, although he is in one holding the position) and one time my Dad was offered/chosen to be part of religious board, he refused it, he said he didn't want to get a label being religious (although he is) and be part of it. He said he liked to live spiritually, not religiously. My Mom also the same, she supported my Dad's decision. I have sag and pisces in my chart. Sag love the idea and the philosophy of the religion, pisces or neptune people are most likely into spiritual things. IP: Logged |

I am very spiritual. There are things I value from all religions, but overall, I don't have a specific spiritual path.I have: -Neptune in Capricorn, which I think might contribute to someone taking spirituality seriously (though this is a generational planet and I don't know if this is common for my generation) -Jupiter in 9th house. Jupiter conjuncts my Midheaven and has been the ruler of my progressed chart for most of my life. -Sun trine Neptune IP: Logged |

Despite being a Taurus with many Aries placements, I am very spiritual and I think it's due to my South Node in the 12th House. (SN in Cancer.) I bring a lot of spiritual wisdom into this lifetime. The only other thing I have in my 12H is Part of Fortune. I have Saturn in 9H, Ceres and Lilith in 8H. ------------------ Sun - Taurus // Moon - Aries // ASC - Cancer // Mercury - Aries // Venus - Taurus // Mars - Pisces IP: Logged |

I believe Pisces is more tied with religion because of Jupiter being it's codominant planet, and Jupiter belong about religion. Pisces and Sag (both Jupiter dominant) make me think of religion, and I've seen many religious zealots being heavy in Sag, Pisces or Jupiter. Just my opinion though IP: Logged |

Great point. You can be both spiritual and religious at the same time! IP: Logged |

I think Pisces, Jupiter, Neptune strong in some way in the chart will make someone who takes connection with the divine seriously. Saggitarius yes, but to a lesser extent due to the base animalistic nature of the sign. After all, he is half horse. Sometimes, Saturn in hard aspects denying the native material success can also turn someone toward the divine, provided he has Neptune or Jupiter strong in the chart. I see many famous religious nuns and monks with Saturn in hard aspects to Venus. Strong South node can also make for someone who is spiritually inclined. IP: Logged |

I have Sag in mars/asc/saturn/uranus. Venus in pisces trine neptune. Moon conjunct jupiter, trine asc/saturn/uranus. Jupiter sextile mercury, trine asc/saturn/uranus. Sag mars sextile sun.. You might think I am so into religion, not true. But I like the philosophy of it and refuse to follow the darkside of the world strongly which sometimes it makes my life a little bit unusual, lots of miracle but also the hardest time. I have full of awareness to what I am doing or saying to other people, I think fast but I take my time and talk very slow because I always think before I speak and do something. All of my Aries sun friends will always become impatient once I talk and it becomes our jokes because I can relate as I have the same moon as their sun sign. I usually don't show my religion to other people too, I make friends with anyone, I have a belief that "don't tell me about your religion, but show me your genuine actions", my parents taught us about it since we were kid. Sometimes my friends who are into religious thing accuse me as a rebel or someone who need to be closer to God because I tend to seal my mouth about religion or refuse to be fully active in religious activities. I am more into spiritual things and take seriously about it than religious things. I can feel it comes from the pisces or neptune aspect and sometimes Sag. I think 9H will make you more into religions because I have empty 9H. IP: Logged |

I think that I do have an underlying spiritual awareness. Religion and philosophy are both fascinating to me as well, but I agree that these ideas can tie into spirituality, but at the same time spirituality just...is. Not sure what I'm trying to say. What contributes to this? Full 8th and 9th house with a Sag/Cap blend. Sagittarius Moon in 9th. Neptune in 9th. Jupiter in 5th. IP: Logged |

Spiritual? Probably Jupiter who is a truth seeker or Neptune who is attuned spiritually. I wouldn't assign "Religious" to either planet although if spiritual isn't available religion will do. For me spiritual is the faith and feeling part and religion is the rituals and expressions that come out of spirituality.I thought I was atheist when I was little because no religion I was exposed to was mine. I realized in preschool that I didn't share my mother's religious beliefs but I didn't mind her religion until my cousin started to force it on me, causing me to lash out at it a bit. I'm okay now and know her intentions were good. However, now that I know my religion better, I'm able to share spirituality more with others, almost as if I no longer fear persecution for being different because I know more of us from traveling and living transiently. What I see causes the strong understanding of spirituality from a young age in me: - SN H9 (Gemini)/NN Sagittarius. - NeptuneRx in Sagittarius. But also: Both Mars and Saturn are in the 9th and I think this has caused both a search as well as skepticism which helped enjoy other religions but not blindly accept them or lose myself in them. The two, not conjunct, balanced each other. The SN is also besieged by the two of them. Someone has mentioned that I was probably intensely religious in a past life because of this like I worked for a church in a past life, and this helps keep the past influence from getting out of hand. I don't know... maybe. But all this could be why I knew I did not share my mother's religion at such a young age. Probably my tight Mercury/Jupiter conjunction in Pisces helps, and it's in the 5th which keeps things lighter and healthier so I don't push it on others and I tend to be most comfortable sharing religion/spirituality through art, all different artistic forms. I just did a full length story that was a subtle comparison of two religions through symbolism, metaphor and allegory. And I wanted to do a creative children's project on spirituality.

beyond Pisces and sag, Leo's always suprise me with their beliefs. I imagine sun in aspect to the outer planets has a big impact. For instance mine is opposite Uranus and I'm always trying to figure things out but meanwhile the sextile to Jupiter means I'm very comfortable with religion - it doesn't represent a conflict or a solid identity marker to me at all. My mom is both spiritual but also religious... I feel her spiritual side comes from jupiter in Pisces and Northnode in Pisces. Her religious side is bc she has moon in the 9H and the Ruler of the 9H is venus and falls in the 5H. To her church stuff is fun, praying is fun, that is her recreation time.. She has organized medical missions were she goes to developing countries and helps them medically but also brings priests with her to spread the word of God. She was also a real good student, mostly As most of her life and put herself through medical school to be a pediatrician. The 9H Ruler venus in the 5H and moon in the 9H I feel also explains this. It makes me wonder if that has the bigges influence on choice of religion when there is a choice. My Venus is Aquarius and I only feel comfort from abstract spirituality. Religions that try to make things "real" like us don't feel comfortable. I can only understand them through comparison to my own birth beliefs, I can't innately connect with them or love them the way others do. (They're interesting to learn about but they don't feel adequate to nurture the spirit in my perspective.) My mom's religion is like this. I wouldn't be surprised if this is becoming more common with younger people too. So many young people are becoming more abstract thinkers and visionary it seems. IP: Logged |
