In my case, I have a late (27 degrees) Retrograde Leo Mercury in the 3rd House of Gemini with my Virgo North Node placed there as well.

All I know is that my mind runs at 50 miles per four (randomest thoughts coming from here and there out of nowhere lol), I'm a speedy decisive thinker, I love words, I'm practically obsessed with writing and I love planning in advance and organizing myself by making endless detailed lists and sorting them in folders. I also like to read, investigate, and research everything down to the smallest molecule because I strive for mastery over any subject I take interest in.

I talk quickly - often too quickly, and have a very quick wit. I love words and am a writer by trade (sun in third house), and also strive to create very tangible sensations with my words and writing which maybe comes from the sensuality of taurus.

I think planets and the houses affected by gemini and virgo can also make a difference. I have venus in gemini and love words and communicating - this is in my fifth and have poetic tendencies - I create with words.

I also have jupiter and saturn in virgo - the jupiter makes me want to write more and find the discipline, but alas saturn up the road makes me lazy.

I think learning is a slightly different nuance to thinking and speaking, and for that I'd look to jupiter, sagittarius and the 9th house. I have libra on the cusp of the 9th and will always give more credibility to properly researched facts, opinions and learnings.

I think aspects to the key planets also make a huge difference. My natal mercury is largely unaspected barring a few wide trines. Maybe this gives my brain space to do its communicating.

I have two friends with mercury conjunct sun. Both communicate in very warm, personable ways but are fairly shy.

In your case Leo and Virgo share the 3rd house cusp -which is naturally associated with Gemini.

Leo on the 3rd house cups has their ego(Leo) invested in what they are saying. Look to where the Sun is to connect the dots i.e where the Sun is placed is where you want your opinion to be heard.

Virgo also on the 3rd house cusp suggests someone who loves details and organizing and communicates in a manner that is concise ,clear and detailed.

Look to where you Mercury is placed to understand where you are likely to be organized,concise and detailed.

So with both these energies, it is likely that you not only want your opinion(3rd) to dominate(Leo). But you also want to hit the nail on the head(Virgo) and be very detail-oriented(Virgo) in your expression.

Leo usually brushes with a brad brush. But if you have Virgo also therein,you may also use a pencil for the more detailed work(so to speak).

Ohh okay, that makes sense! I thought my obsession with precision and details was due to my 3rd House Leo Mercury though. My Leo Sun is in the 2nd House of Taurus, sooo ... where would I want my opinion to be heard? Haha
