Venus represents a lot more than just love.
It represents women, jewelry, luxury items, beauty, etc.

4th house and 5th house transit could indicate other things.

4th house is the father, our home, property, hidden treasure...treasures of the earth, farming, agriculture, anything dealing with land, our home country, process of death and funerals, & ancestry

Since venus is the original ruler of 7th house...maybe it's even contracts, business partnership, foreign countries (4th house is native country while 9th is just travels if I remember correctly.), lawyers, thieves,open/known enemies, and many other 7th house related matters.

I would look at saturn, neptune, pluto and uranus transit to get an idea...also present progressed chart and could even look at lunar or solar return chart.

That being said, I DO 100% expect to hear from my ex during it. I'm not sure why, since he and I have not spoken since I told him never to talk to me this time last year. He and I met and immediately started our relationship DURING a venus Rx period three years ago.

I dont regret him, but he absolutely does haunt me. I wrote about him a lot here.

What I will say is that this period tends to actually give me a thicker skin when it comes to relationships. I can be very thin skinned about previous relationships and heartbreaks, making me that much more wimpy when I need to be a big girl about them.

Venus Rx usually dulls the feelings of sensitivity for me, maybe because the energy itself is going backwards. Not sure. I've always noticed it and appreciated it, though. On more than one occasion, I've made amends with someone who had been a source of deep pain before during Venus Rx. We would somehow just reach out to each other and have a good hashing out of what happened but without all the emotional hoops. The peace found during those periods has always stuck - I've never felt a need to return to the subject again once that happened.

4th and 5th house can mean a lot of things. You may have issues in your home life that have bothered you for awhile that you'll find resolution to now. Or, yes, maybe your ex will haunt you but this time you'll hash it out, once and for all, and heal. Regardless I take this period as a chance to really REVIEW what has happened, what worked for me, what didn't. What hurt, why it hurt, how to prevent that or heal it.

Financially/ career-wise, this has always been my more "shrewd" period of time as well. Numerous times, I advanced in my career or took a huge risk/opportunity during a venus Rx. I attribute that to the fact that venus and mars are conjunct in my 1st house, so a lot of ME is wrapped up in that.
