Lying in bed last night, ear buds funneling music intimately into my head I began fantasizing about being the performer. I do this often, at least when I'm feeling well enough for music to move me. It's the way I go into the music, the way I give myself over to it and really participate. I am the singer, the guitarist, etc.

I think this is as it should be. Last night it struck me that I may never be able to perform music as I wish, but it is still important that I imagine being able to really feel it. It is important because in future incarnations such expressions of love of music remain as can-do messages that gather into belief, then action and ability future lifetimes....

THAT is exactly what I'm talking about, but from a scientist's perspective. Sort of like 'fake it till you make it'.

And that has been my assertion about Neptune for years now -- that as creators we Imagine things into being. But it would appear we need to involve our bodies going through the motions in order to develop the actual skills.

I need to pick up the guitar more often ... and maybe actually sing something into my mp3 recorder ...

Our power to do this first lies with our own thoughts, abilities, and bodies. Guided meditations and hypnosis are enormously overlooked tools for achieving awareness and healing.

So many of us are still suspended in uncertain identity, struggling to understand who we are, Where do I come from, etc. I was like this as well and my first really Neptunian experiences were with hypnosis in 1996 and '98 which rummaged in past lives so I could (a) better understand myself and my life setup, and (b) see my spiritual guide and past life setup for this lifetime's purpose.

Later I experienced moments of channeling words into an inspirational poem (2000-01), at least once when I was very down, very close to giving up.

Because my life did not take me into the musical career I longed for as a teen/young adult, a disillusionment drained a certain joy from me that took music with it for significant periods of my life. So instead, nowadays I keep music very close to me. I go on 'alert' for my mental/emotional well being at first sign of losing enjoyment of music. I know I'm okay and in balance when I can have those moments of seeing/feeling myself as the performer, sometimes even having dreams of performing music again.

Who knows ... there's still time. Maybe I can make it happen before the end of this lifetime.

In more aboriginal cultures still very in touch with their bodies and the earth, music is far more central -- because they participate in song and dance with virtually every celebration, every rite of passage. But creating something original -- THAT is where the creator's longing lies. I can say I've done that as a poet at least.

Sounds have shapes to me; when I listen to music I can see each individual sound as a specific shape that is created within my own mind. These shapes are always changing and are never consistent; each shape is perfectly mapped to the sound that is being heard as I listen to it. Each individual track has its own feel and speed; some tracks feel more smooth and spacey and others feel more choppy. A virtual world is created within my mind for every song that I hear.
