I presume the sign of anything in libra is about equality? But how does that manifest? Or other planets, aspects or asteroids?

Human rights and inequality is mostly Aquarius, with some neptune in the mixture

Complicated. Some care about the human rights of only a select group of people while others are much more inclusive. Some mean well while other crusaders have ulterior motives that are actually self-serving rather than compassionate, and may include exploiting those that are being championed. Some do so out of compassion, others do so out of the ego trip of self-righteousness and the power to punish.

I would guess Pisces is the most compassionate, but they can absorb so much that's bad from others around them that they can be quite the opposite (and one Pisces father choked his Libra son because the white Libra shook hands with a black man that had helped him ). I can think of people I believe are genuinely compassionate to others from many signs, including those that I wouldn't have expected it from.

Interesting enough, I know of a Cancer sun (I did his entire chart once but forget the details) who started off as very bigoted, like his family (and may have been the Cancer inclination to side with family against outsiders), but after his white friends left him to die and he was saved by a black man he used to mock behind his back (with the same white friends who abandoned him) he turned around, and that would grow over the decades until he is highly sensitive to the human rights of all (though he's also a big supporter of the military, interesting enough, but then he can wax on about how the military can be effective by being helpful rather than unthinkingly destructive, and cites many examples of when such worked--he also spent time as a compassionate rape crisis counselor while in the Army). I'm not sure if guilt motivates him, or if after being saved by an "outsider" that he came to view outsiders as potential allies (and thus worthy of respect and protection). It could just be (as he says) that being saved by someone he was sure would never do so (while those he thought had his back abandoned him) simply caused him to rethink his values.

I would agree that this would be a smidge of Libra (as the scales represent balance and/or fairness...it's not a mistake that a large number of lawyers happen to be Libra's...look at Johnnie Cochran), with a large amount of Aquarius and Uranus.

If you are thinking more about a global scale and all of mankind I would look at Aquarius. Again it's not a mistake that most Presidents have Aquarius/Uranus in their chart. In fact a running thought with me is whenever I read someone is an activist" I naturally assume that Aquarius is prominent.

Something worth noting:
Obama is an Aqurius Rising
GW Bush has a Libra Moon
Clinton has a Libra Rising

Libra often argues for the underdog. Activism however takes on a more Martian persona.

Mars in 12th
Mars in 6th
Mars in 7th
Mars in 1st

The signs involved being Libra,Aq,Virg,Pisces.

Juno is also involved in there somehow. As is Pallas Athena.

It's funny you say Virgo, I noticed that the last two President's have Virgo Mars (Obama and Bush).

This is a bit of a difficult question for me. My answer involves the signs Aquarius, Libra, and maybe Pisces.

Aquarians being so detached may make them capable of avoiding the development of certain biases. Of course, the chart may indicate otherwise.

Libras tend to care about fairness and equality. They're represented by the scales.

Pisces are so sensitive they probably can't help but care. Unfortunately, they may not cope with it as well.

The only planet I have in Aquarius, Libra, or Pisces would be my Saturn in Aquarius, which I'm sure wouldn't influence someone to be highly sensitive to human rights and inequality.

However, after considering my chart, I think Aries fits in too. Not sure how I'm going to explain this one.

And, depending on the Taurus, I think Taurus could develop this kind of sensitivity also. I think it just comes less naturally for them.

I am extremely sensitive to human rights and inequality. On one hand, I have never personally experienced these things myself. Regardless, I hate thinking that a close friend could be mistreated based on some trivial standard that makes them unequal. Plus, I just don't like seeing humans mistreating other humans.

Compared to the average person, I probably have a higher sensitivity to how other people are treated. I'm in no position to do anything with it though.

I have Mercury and Mars in Aries, Sun trine Uranus, and Sun trine Neptune.

I'm not sure if the placements mentioned above show where in my chart this sensitivity is shown, but I'm sure it is shown somewhere.

Yeah I agree with Libra and Aquarius.

You look at all the past presidents, Libra and Aquarius is somewhere in their chart.

Also having Martian or Plutonic energy, for the extra aggression needed to stand your ground in a debate or protest.

Another thing I noticed is on a numerology level, people who have the "number 9" (don't know why numerology is talked about more often here) in their numerology chart, tend to fight for human rights. I've seen it with people who are Life Path 9 or were born on the 9th, 18th, 27th of the month.

For some reason this seems like it would be a 9th house issue. I am committed to humanitarian issues and I have Sun in the 9th house with Libra Rising.

Aqua and Pisces. I'm on the cusp, oh boy.

I think Aqua is involved in more humanitarian and philanthropic activities. Pisces are the empathetic and compassionate ones who hate to see people in pain or need.

Libras could probably be considered. They want justice and fairness for all.

This is the group mentality found with Jupiter, Uranus, with some sign tendencies for special concern with these coming more with Aquarius, Libra, Sagittarius, Pisces.

So strong aspects involving Jupiter and/or Uranus with Aquarius and/or one of the other signs emphasized. Ultimately, it is the reach of the extrovert to be involved in such things as an activist, which often requires the strength of personality often seen in Leonine (or Aquarian) crusaders.

Aquarius (humanity minded. They are more about a group, rather than singular relationships. Aquarius generally are more emotional on grp minded involvements) in 11th. Natural placement or in the 6th, making a routine in the matter of 'the collective'.

This is so interesting. I've read somewhere that Juno retrograde also means an interest in equality and women's rights specifically. Anyone have any experiences with Juno retrograde?

Vesta in Cancer , I just watched video on it and they are the caregivers of the Zodiac and become very brave when it comes to standing against bullies, injustice and the like.
