Is your Mars in Cancer conjunct his Moon? As this could make things a little uncomfortable for him.

Mars in Cancer can arouse some Moon in Cancer people or cause them to be defensive and shut off. Either one or the other.

I usually fall for water moons and venuses but I've had the odd Leo /libra moon
