Oh my god, I thought you were kidding There's also 'Increased' and 'Wrestling' ... that seems so random. I also see 'Return' on the list...rather ambitious

Wrestles - I suspect that is a reference to Jacob wrestling with the Angel. Personally I would be boring and opt for the name Jacob. There's some odd Victorian ones, like Murder, that was on a cereal packet. But I checked with an online birth, marriage and death facility. It really was a name used in the 19th century. IP: Logged |

I've seen Increase, Cloud and Method, old Puritanical names in New England. Method comes from Methodius though I suspect. IP: Logged |

Murder...wow. This is just surreal. Victorians in general were an interesting bunch. Their whole thing with post-mortem photography too always weirds me out. IP: Logged |

As a moderator, I have to step in here and give a warning and say, please be mindful that there could be Geldof family members reading this. We shouldn't encourage.IP: Logged |

wow - this is weird and whacky!!!Aren't people a funny species. The way our minds work sure is mysterious. I'll share something with you that has a touch of weirdness. I don't wish to offend anyone, but this is just something that me and my colleagues have noticed in our collective decades of working with children........We notice that many children that have had 'issues' or 'challenges' have names that start with "J". I also felt that children with a biblical name had a bigger responsibility to carry the power of that name. That may sound weird, but it's just a view from where I'm standing. IP: Logged |

To name children sometimes Puritans would point to the Bible and use whatever word or phrase their finger landed on.IP: Logged |

Bad news if Mama lands her finger on 'do not lie with your brother's wife."Names beginning with..... http://www.opendb.net/element/19061.php Mine is spot on, absolutely. The funny thing there is that I sign my name by my initial, and my mother calls me by it more often than she does my full name.
